i have the vertical 6.75" version of these and they bump.had larger systems but these work very well.
Would the 12” hit better than two kicker comp rt 10s on a 800w kxa amp in a shallow sealed box?
Would the Kenwood kac-511 amplifier be enough for the 10 inch version??
Just bought the 10". Fits perfect under my 2010 tundra double cab.
Ya but do they hit is the real question
That's good to know fam! 👍🏾 Do you think you can fit the twelves under there as well? I have the 2014.
@@mlolo17500 That's what I want to know
Do you think the 12" would fit?
@Kieran Clarkson 12 would fit..I wish I bought that instead
Would the 10” work with the 46CXA400.1T?
I have one of these in my 2020 F150 (10 inch version), along with front and rear speakers from Focal. Amp is a JL audio VX1000/5i. So far no complaints, but I've only had it a short time, and haven't had a chance to get into tuning via the JL TüN software. For those who may be wondering, this is not a "behind the rear seat" subwoofer. It will however, fit under the rear seat when folded down. To say it's a huge improvement over the factory system would be an understatement. This thing provides plenty of low end thump, and the build quality is legit. The relatively small footprint provides me plenty of room for my fishing gear in the back. Time will tell on long term durability, but it's definitely all good at this point.
👌
if you had the space and were going to buy again would you stick with the 10 inch or would you get the 12 inch 2nd time round ? thanks
@@alpinab14 I suppose bigger is better in this particular case. For my needs, the 10 was the way to go as it affords me room for my surf fishing tackle in the rear compartment. If that wasn't an issue, I'd have gotten the 12. As far as frequency response, I bumped the eq up a bit in the 25-40 HZ range, and that really seemed to fill out the bottom end nicely. Obviously, the acoustics vary from vehicle to vehicle. All that said, in my opinion, if you have room for the 12, then get the 12.
@@Sagittarius-88 that's awesome and very helpful thanks for your reply and very informative 👍 , I have that dilemma of wanting nice tight musical bass as I hate that boomy bloated bass but any 10 inch subs I've had in the past old technologies mind you 10 years plus have always left me wanting just a bit more depth and output which sends me towards sealed 12s so I think im going to go for the L7 2ohm downfiring box from kicker , seems to tick all the boxes , small compact , sealed 12 inch with a quality L7 woofer , can't go far wrong with that I hope but thanks for your help
@@alpinab14 I was going to get the same thing, but I am debating getting the wedge shaped box instead of the downfiring. Would you reccommend the downfiring over the wedge? or are they both the same in sound quality?
Great review. Hope you get a chance to hear these in car.
Why am I not getting any Kip love on my Kicker vids 🤣 sheesh. I am taking your advice anf bridging the KXA400's.
@@thenotoriousrvh6091 RVH, I need to look for your videos, I honestly have not seen them yet. Yessss, bridge it!
@@kipplitz I'm no James or BigD 😢 lol
I wonder why kicker didnt make a 6.5" size for this year, :/
How does the 800.1 amp pair good with the 10 inch kicker when you said the rms for the 10 was at 4 ohm not 2 ohm like you said they all were 2 ohm but your reccomending a 4 ohm amp for a 2ohm 10 in kicker
I think he’s just explaining the rating on the amps as a general statement meaning if you bridge them to achieve your 2ohms you get Xvalue and if you just run them in 4ohms they are rated at Yvalue (Incase you wanted to power a different set of speakers). You are correct that these woofers are all dual voice coil and rated for 2 ohms, so when he was reading off the specs to the amps he should have just left out the 4 ohm ratings since it doesn’t apply to the speakers he is introducing .
what is the difference betwen the kicker 10in TRTP down firing subwoofer and the kicker hs10 hideaway subwoofer.
The output, the TRTP will have significantly more output.
Since the CXA800.1 amp is putting out 600w RMS @ 2ohms to the 12” sub that’s only rated at 500w rms @ 2ohms will that cause the sub to blow or anything??
No but just because the RMS matches, doesn't mean the subs will match. You'd need to make sure you have either a DVC 4 ohm subwoofer or a SVC 2 ohm subwoofer to make the 2 ohm load.
Full of crap 🤣 I bought this exact set up.. I had 3 speakers blow …. I was told that the amp is to powerful by multiple people at different audio set up stores.. even Best Buy told me it was gonna blow my speaker
Can you mount one behind a back seat, like on the seat?
Probably, I have the single version of the 12” and it’s light, comes with brackets
I'm sorry but I need help! I'm sorry I'm such a noob :(
I need help! As much as possible I want to buy a single amplifier that will power all my speakers or do I still need to buy a separate amplifier for my subwoofer? Is the JBL Club4505 or is the Sony XAV AX7000
I have a
JBL GTO609C
RMS: 180 watts per pair / 90 watts each
Recommended Power: 5 - 200 watts RMS each
JBL GTO939
100W RMS
4 ohms
JBL S2-1224 Subwoofer
275RMS selectable 2 ohms or 4 ohms
Search Rockford fosgate, skar audio, sundown audio, and pioneer as well these company's make really great amps 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 channels these will work perfect for your setup, especially if you're running door speakers and one subwoofer, don't know how much money you plan on spending but just do your home before making a purchase, and let some force you into buying you really don't need God bless God is love
@@BurgaBea_StroThank You very much for helping me 😊
Is the Kenwood KAC-M8005 5-Channel gonna match my set up? :)
As long as its 5 channel and has enough watts you should be fine
It absolutely can be done but ask yourself, wouldn't it be easier and more efficient to just have two separate amps? One for your sub and one for your mids and highs?
Dimensions of the 8"?
1:55
I wonder what would happen if you stacked 4 12" on top of each other ? 🤔
Robert Van Hoy in the house!!!
A man with a brain a large as yours should be solving earth's biggest questions!!! Not asking great ideas about speakers
Does the 8in hit harder than the hs10 Compact??
Yes, considerably
@Qualitymobilevideo I have the hs10, it's weak af.
Could I wire the 12' sub in parallel to get a 1 olhm load?
Unfortunately, this is a single voice coil 2 ohm woofer, so you can only wire to 2 ohm
@@Qualitymobilevideo how would i wire the 12” sub to 2 ohm from the sub to the amp will it be + to + and - to - ?
James is funny as f#$@!
Lol thanks bud! You should check out my comedy channel then: ua-cam.com/channels/vZb2nCFONWJJbZUl2xMI9Q.html
Great speaker… all I w’can say is ensure you get it tuned properly. Blew my sub less than 10 minutes after hooking it up. “I” believe the 12 inch are definitely less than 500 rms. Replaced….. Lesson learned
U gotta break them in
Those amps are not a perfect setup at all. Overrated for the subs
False. Always want head room. He didn't say anything about using every capable Watt.
Man I hate shallow mount subs... It's pretty much impossible to get hard hitting deep bass from an enclosure that small... It's good enough for a lot of people, but not a bass head like me...
You should try a Rockford T1 12" SLIM. Best shallow sub. Big bass.
Ghetto
$300 for the 12" and below on the other 2.....nah i'm not impressed on them at the price points that are set!!
Yeah that's the reason i sm waiting until i see them at $200
What is thick as f*ck is my thing. Ask your mom. Luv ya.
Baby carrots aren't thick xoxo
Just buy a real box and sub, these are not made for real music bassheads
You lying. Gay👍👍👍
Since the CXA800.1 amp is putting out 600w RMS @ 2ohms to the 12” sub that’s only rated at 500w rms @ 2ohms will that cause the sub to blow or anything??
Just dont set the gain so high. Get a base knob to fine tune.
Technically its overpowered by 100. But who runs it at 100? Just downtune a bit.
Better than not having enough.
