I almost died in Africa 🇰🇪 Kenya

- Africa, Kenya: I was in a village 10 hours away from Nairobi, and I passed out during the long bus trip to get there... Sleeping without a mosquito net punished me to the the point I almost died, and then in an hospital I found out I had Malaria! Over 600.000 people every year die from Malaria, and I don't want to be one of them. I hope to be ok soon, but I am still suffering its side effects. Pray for me.

Be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY careful as You did make MALARIA but lots of Ecuatorial bacterias You are NOT used to...
@@MichelePonte sorry get well soon inshallah
@@MichelePonte Don't be scared bro. malaria is very normal in Africa and it's well treated. ask anyone around you to get you neem tree leaves and boil and drink it as tea. do not add anything just the water from the boiled leaves. drink it as much as you can continually for 3 days to clean your system completely. You can drink this as part of the hospital medication you were given and it wouldn't be a problem. Malaria is not only via food. You can get it through water and mosquitoes bites. I you are vomiting a lot after taking anything then you might have typhoid fever as part of the malaria and your best bit is to drink a lot of coconuts and malt drink like Malta or get some vitamin B complex supplements. But drink lots of fresh coconuts water not the brown one. And stop drinking alcohol it will make it worse. I think you got the typhoid infection. And drink the boiled neem tree leaves and coconuts water not the same time but in different times from each other. You will be fine but sleep more. But you need not worry about this because you are in good hands. I think some people for hurt when you said finally good food but its ok you didn't say this to hurt anyone. Just get yourself together.
for the videos stop editing and post the raw content you have everyday and your channel will be back to normal. ignore these guys I bet they tried to put you behind and made you record for their channel only.but you are good. just be careful where you film in Nairobi because they can snatch your camera or phone.
Get enough rest and sleep in a mosquito net also and rest more keeping hydrated.
Thanks for amazing content over the past years!! Get well soon, my friend!! Greetings from Germany

Hi Michele, So sorry this happened to you and I hope you are back on track soon. It was really a comfort to you to have Uncle Mo by your side, very nice of him to take care of you. You will be making more videos in Africa soon and we await your recovery. Take care and be safe my friend.💪💪💙

@@LadyR102 yes since 2019 there is one. För travelers there are also anti malaria pills.

Until you clear it out of your system.
Good luck
So sorry my dear, speedy recovery. Need some coconut water to replenish fluids and electrolytes and ginger, tumeric lemongrass tea for inflammation. Thats what we take here in Jamaica we also take neem
Wishing you a speedy recovery
Thank you Retha!
Some of these mosquito diseases can be very draining, dengue fever from Southeast Asia is very very bad too. I would say very similar experience that’s why have an adaquate hospital is important
Take good care bro Ponte, wish you the fastest recovery..Uncle Mo is also a very wonderful soul,,say hi to him
Oh nooo, I am so sorry that you contracted
Malaria. Uncle Mo is such a very faithful friend, it made me teary eye watching him by your bed side. I trust that you are back to great health. Oh boy...
Ponte don't get too worried my bro. Yes malaria could be dangerous but You in the right place with highly qualified doctors specialized in treating the disease. I remember getting malaria almost every after several months before moving to Johannesburg.
My prayer is that God will heal you miraculously so that you can continue to entertain us with your beautiful vlogs as you always do, get well soon Ponte. May uncle Mo also be blessed for being by your side ❤️❤️❤️.
Thank you so much Vivian!
Wishing Michele Ponte a quick recovery. Uncle Mo God bless you for assisting a brother and a friend.
@Michele Ponte sorry and quick recovery. In those areas please sleep under a mosquito net. Malaria sucks
Wish you quick quick recovery Michelle, there's preventative malaria medicine, always use them.
I'm so glad you are feeling better, Michele.
Whenever you are going to visit tropical/African countries, it's good to take a malaria vaccine, or
prepare with mosquito repellent lotions and use mosquito nets as a precaution.
Sorry you had to go through this, but by the grace of God you will recover well.
Rest well! Eat lots of greens, drink plenty of water & Please take care of yourself.
God Bless!
Hope you feel better Michele, please keep us updated. God bless you🙏
Thank you, I will
This was scary to watch,Im happy they have good doctors in Kenya❤️You really look like you droped at least 7kg,you see to have something extra helps in situations like this!Stay away from alcohol it dehidates the body even more!Hope you get well soon❤️🍀

Many thanks to your true friend, Uncle Mo.

Another great video.
Thank you so much!
I hope you’ll recover soon. If things get worse contact the Italian embassy at least you can be airlifted to home. You can get better treatment. Just pray stay strong you gone be ok.
We all are praying 🙏🏼 for you!
God is with you
I think in Italy they are not prepared for Malaria, I better stay here...
@@MichelePonte you have a good point.
It’s a tropical disease. Kenya is way more advanced in treating malaria
Best country in Africa for treatment would have to be South Africa, have that as your back up plan
@@lot6129 Malaria can be treated comfortably in Kenya. Even in the village. Kenya is way advanced compared to most countries in the treatment of tropical diseases.
So glad finally you are recovering... Take care and stay blessed
The only day I saw uncle mo so sad ,the ever joyful guy today was gloomy that shows how he has much care for you and been there all the time that is what you can never see here Europe with friends.
I'm sorry you don't have friends in Europe, but what you said is not true. In Europe, his host would hire a car and driver to take to hospital, not make him walk and take bus.
Oh sorry about that bro. You’ll be fine. Praying for you my brother! Eat well and stay active please.
Oh no sorry for the sickness, may you be healthy always in Jesus name!
Thank you Faithok
@@MichelePonte welcome ponte

Get well soon ponte . And I give a big thanks to Ucle MO for looking after you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇳🇦
Awww 😘 Wish You a Speedy Recovery Michelle 🌹🙏🏽🙏🏽
You should take anti malaria medication (normally) a full dose before visiting certain regions in Kenya
Not all places have malaria prevalence though.
Hope you are well now.
Malaria is no joke
Hi Michele, wishing you speedy recovery, I will be praying for you. Thanks to uncle Mo he is a very nice guy, all the best you will be okay.
Am so sorry to see you laid low by this disease. From all your videos you never complain about any discomforts or privations on your travels. It is shocking to see you, a big, strong, strapping young man, knocked about so badly. Sincerely hope your next video will be about how you feel (and look) back on the road to full fitness. Michele, wish you well very soon.
Thank you so much Frank!
Ponte, Sorry to hear you were not well. Take care, and have yourself checked out properly. Make sure the malaria clears out totally, as it can recur. Hope you have fast rcovery and are back to your normal self/duties.
I'm 2 time covid survivor and I tell you the Delta variant was exactly like your malaria experience. I'm sitting here having some memories and I pulled out my diary to look at what I was feeling. Also COVID hits body organs just like malaria. So many things still to see about how my health will go in future. So far still many tests 3 to 6 months apart for my heart , lungs , kidneys and brain.
I am glad you survived
Hospital. Looks. Very. Very. Clean. And. Modern
That’s Kenya for you, very organised
Exactly what I thought. I also got Covid...it's the worst feeling ever...hope you get better.
This is scary! Really hope you feel better and praying for your quick recovery. Keep us updated.
Thanks a lot!
Quick recovery, my brother 💪
Thank you Edward
Extremely happy you are much better, be careful , take care and get well soon.
I really hope you're getting better! Take care of yourself.
I hope so too. Thank you Jeffrey
Pole sana ponte, it could be malaria or food poisoning. Don't just eat anywhere and if hungry and not able to eat in your hosts home just take milk or yogurt and later eat clean food. Get well and welcome to Africa
Take care of your health.. get good rest, and plenty of fluids and vitamins. Also, once you are cured, and anytime you visit Kenya, make sure you are taking anti-malarial medication for the duration of your stay and using deet or other insect repellant.
Prayers 🙏🏿for your quick recovery Ponte. May God continue to protect you 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Be blessed uncle Mo for being there for Ponte..Quick recovery

Oh, my gosh. So sorry to hear it. THAT is a VERY rough illness. You are going to need some serious rest and nurturing.
I'll try my best to be healthy as soon as possible
Get well soon my friend. You’re in good hands.
Quick recovery bro. Village life can be so unforgiving to people who are used to soft life. In our villages few families have a wide variety of food on their daily menu. I remember in our family we used to eat Githeri for Supper, lunch, and breakfast every day, we could only eat ugali on Sunday. We had tattered mosquito nets and would wake up and find mosquito's "pregnant" with blood but Malaria was never an issue to us. The experience of others makes me appreciate Adaptation.
This has nothing to do with adaptation, malaria is always tough on wazungu
@@johnmwangi9943 I thought that white people were adapted to cold climate and hence lost melanin and from the looks of it a lot of other things from the tropics!
@@anneelymer9591 far from the truth. Just do some research and you will find out. More ever I don't subscribe to that narrative of loosing melanin because of cold weather. I think blacks were created black and Whites white
@@johnmwangi9943 I would appreciate if you refuted my explanation with an alternative one. So why do think Malaria is always tough on wazungu?? I understand that people living in endemic areas have adaptive traits (determined by environmental factors and genes) that help them resist Malaria and I can provide scientific literature supporting my explanation. e.g www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1224522/
Very tru

13:53 we don't prevent malaria using fishing net. That's a mosquito net 😅. Happy to hear you are feeling better. I heared that malaria vaccine was approved sometime last year. Consider asking where you could get it if it's publicly available. I haven't followed up since I left Kenya.
It's malaria vaccination for children only. Adults there isn't.
Yeah I asked immediately I posted was told it's for kids. It's the only disease that puts me down everytime I'm in Kenya. I was hoping I would be safe.
not fishing net ponte🤗🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣its a mosquito net
