Warmer weather has finally hit Central Alabama and the fish are starting to move deeper! Dustin breaks down his favorite way to catch spotted bass offshore!
Thanks DC. These vids help us out so much dude. It's easy to cruise them banks and throw all day but when you show us the offshore techniques, it really helps a lot man. Learning how to spot the deep ones makes the trip even better. Thanks again
Thanks man. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and learn new techniques. Don't always fish to catch, fish to learn and the catching will follow! Thanks for watching!
Thanks DC I learn something new about the Coosa river. Its my hardest river to fish for spotted bass. We always launch from Cooter pond and I hate it but that's why they call it fishing. You gave me some great in depth on how to look for them and fish for them. I was there in my boat following you when you won the big one on Lake Eufaula Alabama great work. I was happy to see you in person win the big one. Thanks again keep reeling them in for us.
Cooter's pond is technically the Alabama River. It doesn't become the Coosa until the "Toulouse Split", where the Coosa and Tallapoosa Rivers go their separate ways, going upstream. Once the Jordan Dam tailrace, the Tallapoosa River, and the Bouldin Dam Tailraces converge, then you have the Alabama River. ABOVE THAT, a pearl Sassy Shad, chrome/blue Rat-L-Trap, or any kind of finesse worm makes spotted bass fishing easy.
Love me some off shore fishing, looked like a blast, spots are so much fun,you need to come down to NC and hit Blewes creek, well it's a lake we just call it that lol,has a bunch of spots in there and some good 1s
How do I book a guide trip, me and my nephew are huge fans of yours and see you all the time at M lake. We even saw yall a few Fridays ago at LM filming the tournament.
These videos will give you some nuggets but nothing substitutes for valuable time on the water. Take the info you get from these videos and apply it to your techniques. That should help you get dialed in!
I gotta ask what do you typically look for in the summer? Points, main river ledges, humps, islands, creek channel ledge? Or do you just idle all of them till you figure out what they are on?
It depends on light conditions. When it's overcast, you can get away with brighter colored baits. Traditionally, I like natural colors in clear water impoundments.
@@DCFishing Lol! dude, other than Texas I haven't done a lot of out of state travel for fishing, but ever since I saw that show with you and Shaw on the Black Warrior, that's a trip I'd love to make one day!!
What can I use a tutorial to help read my graphs better on the fish finder so that better understand what I'm looking at or seeing? Or what I should possibly be looking for?
The saucy swimmer catches bigs! Very dangerous this time of year. Herring lakes are a little different from regular lakes. Often times on herring lakes, if you find the bait, the bass are somewhere near. Hope this helps!
For the saucy swimmer I have to force myself to slow down. I was using a 6:3:1 for that bait. I normally use 7:4:1 for most baits but if I have to force myself to slow down, I throw a slower reel.
Awesome tips Dustin. I like lake Mitchell. I'm not that good of a fisherman but your tips really help!!!
Thanks

Can't wait to get back out there!
I gotta ask what do you typically look for in the summer? Points, main river ledges, humps, islands, creek channel ledge? Or do you just idle all of them till you figure out what they are on?
What time Alabama Power Company will be running water!
DC, if you were fishing a clear water impoundment and not the river, what color or colors would you throw?
It depends on light conditions. When it's overcast, you can get away with brighter colored baits. Traditionally, I like natural colors in clear water impoundments.
What’s going on haven’t seen you on the channel Leslie busy sure miss you post more videos
Fire them schoo’s up baw
Bring some of them Coosa spot's over here to Caney lake and turn em loose! Louisiana!
I'm not sure if Caney lake can handle the smoke from those Coosa spots. They have some attitude!

Whenever MLF does an event at Hartwell... You're gonna win it... Sorry Casey Ashley lol
Gonna be hard to beat Casey! He's a hammer. Especially on that pond!
DC, when are you gonna post us another video? I wanna see some striped bass fishing. I’d like some tips.
No way DC said googan baits are tough 😂

We plan on doing a sonar video soon. Stay tuned!
@@DCFishing my man! Much appreciated. Loving the videos, keep them coming. I learn very much from your teachings.
Any tips for offshore fishing on tidal rivers
Tidal rivers are tough to fish offshore. Most of your offshore areas are usually grass related rather than idling for giant schools that you can see.
I’ve heard that saucy swimmer does damage on smith lake. How do you graph for herring fish?
The saucy swimmer catches bigs! Very dangerous this time of year. Herring lakes are a little different from regular lakes. Often times on herring lakes, if you find the bait, the bass are somewhere near. Hope this helps!
What brand jighead was that?
Hand poured jighead from a friend
What do you do at home when you’re not fishing
Think about fishing.
Were you on Jordan last Saturday?
Yeah Corey and I were there filming for upcoming videos!
Hammer
DING!
Ding!!!
What part of the Coosa are you on?
Jordan
Thought that looked like our part of the lake
What kind of swimbait heads you use DC?
Custom swimbait heads made by a friend.
What is your pb spot and how did you catch it?
I caught one in college that was just over 8lbs. Still my biggest spot to date. I caught it on a jig in the current!
What reel and gear ratio were you using?
For the saucy swimmer I have to force myself to slow down. I was using a 6:3:1 for that bait. I normally use 7:4:1 for most baits but if I have to force myself to slow down, I throw a slower reel.
DC where you been
