I just broke my tib/fib in 3 spots last week while coaching my son’s hockey team. This is a great video describing what happened to everyone that is asking me. I have the video of it happening to me and was showing the ER staff prior to my surgery.
Glad it was helpful! Sorry to hear about your leg and hope you have a speedy recovery. Videos on how it happened are always helpful for medical staff… and interesting to watch!
Hello doc! Im a brazilian who's in love for the us, going to my 2nd year of med school in Brazil, im decided to move out when i graduate. Orthopedic is definitely on my list but i heard that it's sooo hard to pass, can you give me some explanation? Like, how much should i score in step 1 and 2, should i make any fellowship, or observership? Me being a foreigner makes it harder to get letters of recommendation?
This can happen for non-displaced fractures (ones that are broken but not out of place) but the criteria to do it is very strict. It’s more common in the pediatric population but rarer in adults, where most people have surgery with a nail.

Thank you for covering this. Max Blumenthal from The Grayzone covered this initially MONTHS ago.
These are hard even for ME to watch!
