Well, he plays whatever chord comes next in the sheet music, and he plays the chords in quarter notes. So some chords could be played for an entire bar, while others play for half a bar, then switch to the next chord mid bar.

Bars 5 & 6 are wrong in the Realbook version! Listen to John Lewis or any other of the old recordings (Cedar Walton, Benny Golson, J.J. Johnson, Sonny Stitt, Sonny Rollins etc.)
