- Hundreds of families in Nairobi and Machakos counties spent the night in the cold following overnight rains that caused flooding across the city and in Syokimau area. A spot check by Citizen Tv revealed flooded roads, marooned homes and collapsed buildings as a result of Ngong river and Athi river breaking their banks. Red Cross has put the number of those affected by floods in the two counties at over 6,800 with about 250 families being displaced by the floods.
Living in syokimau is extreme sports, all roads have become shambas
Na vile nyumba huko ni expe
Shamba pekee ni 10m😂@@erickkwanga1314
May the Lord have mercy upon our mother land kenya tuned from USA 🇺🇸
When you build and water has to find it's own way downstream
Poleni
Nairobians built, nairbians block water ways. Then boom, they blame gvt.
Nairobians litter, throw rubbish in drainage trenches 🙈🙈🙈
Who gives approvals for those building plans? Aren't there Govt agencies to ensure that unapproved buildings are demolished?
Why aren't the govt officials who approved such building never named, shamed and punished? The suffering majority are just victims. The culprits are the crooks working hand in hand with corrupt govt officials.
Says @@georgeodhiambo598who always thinks the Government is to blame for everything. I am sure you would be singing a different tune if babaman was the Government.
@@oaksofmamre12 Stop being stupid by choice. Dont read politics in issues that have nothing to do with politics. Neither Uhuru nor Ruto nor any president goes around approving building plans. Public service is supposed to be and indeed, in my opinion, is apolitical i.e. not having any political leanings. Approvals for buildings are not done by politicians but public servants who stay on in office regardless of regime change. Stop exhibiting extreme stupidity in public fora.
And since 2013, approvals are done at county level. Wacha ushenzi.
Thanks for keeping us of the real situation, keep it up
All the flooding across East and Central Africa including Western Asia started after or right before the Great Solar Eclipse. Unfortunately, most people view this as a local problem, yet this is part of a much bigger global if not cosmic problem.
I need you to stop lying. April showers are common even here in the USA. Flooding happens in Asia all the time.
2016 flooding in Nairobi. Look it up
@@ILIVEAGOODLIFE This is just like the flat earth round earth debate. You either believe in the official lies or you dig deeper and discover that there are serious issues. How about 911? If you believe two steel towers can crumble in the manner that they did without implosion then, you are a perfect candidate for a Covid vaccine with 5 booster shots, simply because some talking head said it was safe. It was once said, that when the apocalypse begins, we will be decades into the event, when the masses finally discover that something is wrong. The news has you conditioned with bad news daily, so even when a major natural disaster happens, it’s normal. I am in Illinois today heading to Seattle. We has 100 trillion locusts (cicadas) out here, and they are saying it’s safe. Nothing to worry about. I guess these things don’t eat. Wish you folks all the best.
What are you smoking? The problem of Africa is poor resource management skills
Flooding is not a local problem. The local problem is lack of preparedness. It is going to sleep and only waking up at the point of disaster. We block water ways. Construction goes on with little consideration for drainage. We litter the environment with abandon. There are several things we can do to mitigate against the effects of flooding. We have hardly scratched on the surface.
We need justice for our lives and goods spoiled by the waters
Waaa mungu amekasirika na dhambi zetu🙏🙏🙏 wee
Don’t be an idiot..nothing to do with God..stop bribing county officers from bribing building control officers
Unplanned building and you are blaming God!
Wafinya was doing nothing at syokimau we have suffered all years
Inapita tena iede wajir
Their's no blame game here with the current flooding.stay save.
Changing climate may require changing attitudes.
Serikali sasa ishughulike drainage system kote nchini kwanza , ujenzi wa barabara baadaye , haya mafuriko yatabeba progress ya miaka sitini
They are living in the dam? how?
Unbelievable! I had to rewind to listen again.

Wavinya wacha siasa fanya kazi....
when it rains it really pours 😢
It's crazy!
And what do we expect apart from the rich building on reparian areas the poor have caused more havoc bu building on drainage systems hawkers nowadays have been left to build kiosks everywhere there is open space along roads in Kenya. Ujinga tu ndio mingi hii kenya. How do people block waterways in the name of doing business and expect water to flow freely during rain seasons???. First deal with makeshifts and kiosks build on drainage and along those roads eg enterprise road and katani road.
You are spot on in your point.
Technology rain wazungu wanatawala the whole world
Father God thank you praise you Jesus Christ holy one turn back this storms because you are amazing God with us Kenya .🙏🙏🙏
