- In his new movie “Demolition,” actor Jake Gyllenhaal plays a suddenly-widowed investment banker. He tells TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie that a sequence in the film where he dances in the New York streets was impromptu and unscripted, an approach director Jean-Marc Vallee used throughout the movie: “You just show up and start working.” He also confirms that the director mandated weekly parties during shooting.

Gotta say, this was one of the most comfortable interviews to watch. The lady was so easy going!
I love the fact he is very serious about his craftmanship, he can go hours on end about how he develops his characters, how films changed his life, his appreciation of the actors hes worked with, or his love of theatre. But then he has this lightheartedness to him, (as in this video) where he's joking around, being flirtatious, not taking himself seriously, etc. He has a great sense of balance. Something you dont see much in Hollywood, which seems to be plagued with ego. I wish him the best after that Nightcrawler oscar snubb 😂👏
He looks so handsome in this interview. Love a guy in a suit and tie.
