- Hello and welcome to this fantastic sunday episode, this was pushing it, i filmed this saturday didn't get home until gone 7 and spent all night early hours in the morning editing it ready for today, took some doing but i got it sorted, So this is a gem of a find a very sort after Volvo 240 defo something i'd love to own, What a find, So this car belongs to a chap called Jack who believe it or not bought this car for a whopping £1, I mean really that's unheard of, Jack contacted me asking if i'd like to come and do a video and asked if me and chancy could recover it for free, Yes i said haha Chancy wasn't fully convinced on the idea but soon warmed up, Haha, Again thanks to jack and chancy.

My dad had a number of 144 and 240 Volvo's and I have to say that they were great motors. Nice to see that it's found a new owner who wants to restore it. Top of the range being a GLT model!

Hi Stu, Chancy & Jack. Gotta ❤ the retros, Apparently that was registered 13th October 1989 & last V5 was 20th October 1989. No other history. Always enjoy watching your videos & wish I could afford to buy & restore many of the cars you find / buy & try to restore etc. Keep up the good work. I wonder what’s in the garage? Daniel

That's Volvo quality for you! The Volvo keyring tab would've originally been on a leather backing. I had an identical one many years back 👍
I don't think the keyring ever had a leather backing...he said in the video that the name of the dealership was on the back. Doubt they would have covered that with leather.
@charleswestbrook118 they were fixed at the slot, not fastened flat to the leather if that makes sense? The metal part was free to flip so you could read the dealer details.

As a car technician Hated working on these old tanks square boxes but it's a strong beast like the 240 740 and rarest 940

Well he's made a profit wat ever wants to do with it shame it's a basic Volvo but it has got alloys but sat 17 years so engine could be locked up every rubber parts will need changing but that milage is not a problem as that oil looked good so the old boy look after it they make a great banger car as that wat happened to alot of years ago

Hi, I looked in the garage incase a manual or spare parts were in there, just an old bicycle and battery charger. Hope that eases your mind lol 👍

J ai eu cette voiture quand j ai fait mon service militaire en 1994 .
C était une 240 gl je l ai gardé presque 4 ans et après je l ai remplacé par une renault 25 tdx .
Elle était pas très puissante et surtout un gouffre à essence !!

I believe my Dad had the same car in the early 90's as a caravan tow pig. Same colour and black leather interior, headrests.
Id also like too say why would you spend 10-15k on a nova thats worth 6-10k at max as it wasnt the most desirable.
As for his relationship with Ben i dont know. But im assuming because Ben was a full-time car and body guy he couldn't take the time out for UA-cam.

Hmm i just dont get any vibe this owners heart or mind is really genuinely set on doing a resto whether full or sympathetic or setting up a channel.....just my gut feeling. Another nice find though as these old 240 Volvo's have a big following now.
