Steve and i spoke about this with each other, we honestly feel Skadis entire tree needs a revision
she has so much identity crisis in her tree compared to when she only had signs, you end up with no real scaling in the tree outside of just "Me run fast hehe"
Exactly, even the debuff/status effect build feels way off. She lacks the synergy within the talent tree that most others have. Personally I hope they lean more into the status effect builds and hybrid summon/strike build and maybe even straightup remove some pure damage (I feel we already have enough character for such builds).
the 222% damage on adept is fun but would be more fun if it was 222% increase effect and affected speed and such

Summons are just not the answer for higher difficulties, seems like. Hard to scale damage early game.
Summons CAN work if you’ve got all the right things (mostly a high-rarity Summoner trait from Time asap), even at higher difficulty. But yeah, not usually as good as casts or strikes.
Merris is definitely by far the better summoner, which is kinda sad. Skadi’s wolves should be buffed tremendously, and I think their upgrade tree should apply to all summons.
From my plays it seems like Wolves, swords (from Conquest), and sometimes high rarity skeletons (as long as you’ve got +duration) seem to do the best. Fire elementals can also do well, but it needs too many prerequisites to roll to get to high level early on, most of the time.
I think summons will even out a bit once the +summon count and + summon attack speed buffs are fixed to actually work. Right now they do nothing.
Necromancy kind of has the issue that Act 2 seems to throw a lot more high HP single target units and a lot less trash mobs at you so the kill requirement to summon combined with the low damage per skeleton makes them unable to really get off the ground to the point where they can sustain themselves.
I was testing Skadi with full status build, the damage from rapture with knockback is a little clunky but you can send bosses away with charge and they will just die under right circumstances. It needs some luck with blessings though or you will get slaughtered before the build can get online.
I'd love to see a Warlock or Necromancer character added to the game.
I play attack Skadi. Use gibberish head, qareen necklace, the eagler sword, lone wolf chest, sand ghoul gloves. Use the old holy trinity (time, justice, Mort). Hits super hard. You can use the parrots too if you’d like since your attack will be super heavy. But it’s fun, you can fiddle with the talent tree to choose what you think is best for it. But Skadi has a ton of attack up gear and it’d be a shame not to use it lol
Sadly I'm still missing the sword and the chest piece lol
I had an evil idea. Imagine if they added the randomly respawning shrine mechanic from Norse Ashes to this game as something you can pick up on the skill page. Talk about your poison pills! People would take it because more shrines = better, but the 1.5-2 second delay before you know a shrine isn't responding means that a player who takes it will see fewer shrines during their playthrough because they won't be seeking them out in order to avoid missing a respawn! And they paid skill points for the privilege!

Hey, i've tried a full summon build with merris, but i've got an issue. Yes, those + summon counts doesn't actually work, but i've got another issue: did devs withdraw those little fox? (summer summons). I've seen them only one time and it was the first day of DMD release. I've took this summons: Winter for wolfs/frost dragon, Krom for blood sword (+ his legendaries are, for me, one on the best ig for damage), and summer for those little foxes/fire dragon. I've done 7 games in a row, banished 90% of summer blessing, got only 2 choises but still couldn't find those foxes. I'm not on discord so i was wondering if i was just unlucky (but i doubt it) or devs removed them for X reasons.
I've took those parrots too for a little test but they are, in fact, very weak in a summon build. I think there are ok as a little support for a full attack build.
I'm kinda sad i can't find those foxes anymore.
If you have some info let me know.
Great vid btw, i didn't try skadi for now, cuz i think she's a little weak rn, maybe she will be good with a good legendary weapon but i only have this scorpion one and i don't this it's so great (on paper, didn't try it yet).

Afaik those fox elementals are still in the game. I don't think they will be selectable until you have a spell that inflicts burning first. I'm also not sure if maybe some spells aren't counting for that when they should. I've only seen that ability spawn twice myself
@@gamingwithjeff Alright, thanks for the info, i'll try to take a spell first then. Well it's a harsh condition to unlock those foxes because frost wolves u can take them right away, kind of sad.

@@jacob-2271I think they are taking about the fire elemental skill. But you are right the fire foxes are in the skill tree.
This is quintessentially an Attack build in terms of damage output. Skadi's end of tree talent that gives + More Damage Taken per status and Hoarfrost give enormous enormous multiplicative scaling with + Attack Damage, and so crit is insane also. I reckon you'll have an easier time if you invest a lil more into attack stats. Soulstealers is bonkers as a strike as its damage is independent of anything, and Sickles is ridic also for this build if you invest into attacks more, bringing you to that breakpoint where high darkness becomes much simpler as your offense allows you to easily stay alive because everything dies so fast.
Skadi is actually pretty damn good, there's a guy getting a clear 80% of the time on D100
Oh and I'm not talking about the summon quirk, I mean the choices to invest in Strike damage instead of crit on the shrine/things that aren't Chilling Attack with level ups etc, would've helped the build muchly!
I’m not sure how effective it would be but I’d love to see a build focused on Merris’ fireball.
i've found a white and pink parrot too but unfortunately cannot get every color on the same character due to which armor slots the parrots have appeared on
Are you sure summons are supposed to inherit your attack/att. speed/movespeed buffs? It isn't worded very clearly, but my impression was that those "+effectiveness from stats" summons get extra value from *summon* buffs.
Like, I have a staff that gives *+summon damage* and *+summon attack speed*, and it seems to pump up the damage of parrots by a significant amount.
you may be right, prior to the patch that wording indicated that it *did* inherit your stats. It's possible that changed, ill have to check the discord and see if there's any info.
Currently saving parrot items for once summons are fixed. Green, black, blue, red, and yellow currently
Have you found the pink one yet? I got a pink parrot jewel and the colorful gloves, giving me the red, blue and green parrot.

For high darkness yes. Skadi can clear d30 just fine though
I don't think Wanderer is working correctly either. I tried it out the other day and hit level 60. But I felt as if my offerings weren't receiving the extra levels.
It would figure her tree is not just weak, but also broken lol
You said you think Nixi and Skadi are the weakest right now but I kind of disagree.
Nixi i do think is terrible, but Skadi is borderline afk free wins.
Ranged is op of course for actually playing and moving around, in multiple builds. But Skadi is seriously afk able.
I have a not special 20% rupture passive sword, and going into shurikens plus attack speed per rupture enemy is so broken. All in on rupture.
All the other gear has some form of on hit or on kill heal 1 hp.
All strikes and auto attacked based build

If you have a Heal on Kill on a gear piece. You will restore hp when a summon kills something.
