Hey dolls 🌼 Just a quick heads up unfortunately the camera quality and audio quality is lower than usual. Something on my camera needed to be fixed so I filmed this on my spare camera. The next video will be back to the usual quality! 💌 All my lovin, xx Emma 💌
Here in Minneapolis, several bands are reviving the Ye-Ye music style & fashion. Pretty cool.... as a 70 year old guy, this is my romanticized youth. History for you, fond memories for me. 😂
Lovely video, Emma! Also, I was wandering if you could make a video about the Teddy Boys/Teddy Girls era. I think this was a subculture that most of the people forgot about and I'd love to learn something about it!❤
I'm back for my second rewatching of this video because i love it so much & i want to comment about how nice your hair looks i adore how it fades it looks so cool
I know this might be a weird comment but my grandpa is seriously ill and in the hospital and I love watching your videos at night to take my mind off of how sad I am.
Hi Emma, loving your fashion era videos. In the UK there was a mod versus rocker scene. That might be interesting as a topic? In terms of culture, music, fashion and why they were kind of in competition to each other. X
“Bon alors, un peu de musique pour se mettre en train” ❤️ Emma, I LOVE this! Yes! The Yé-Yé style was HUGE in Spain - my own grandma was kind of a Yé-Yé girl! So fascinating! Concha Velasco was the absolute Yé-Yé icon here. Edit: I thought I might as well add a little translation of Concha’s most famous song, which literally translates as “A Yé-Yé Girl” I think it's super fun and quirky and pretty much embodies the Yé-Yé spirit. 😂 Find yourself a girl, a Yé-Yé girl Who’s got a lot of rhythm and can sing in English Messy hair and colorful tights A Yé-Yé girl, a Yé-Yé girl Who gets you just like I do
this video is perfection! I've appreciated the music and style of this subculture for a while ( I literally own the book featured @1:13)! I am so happy UA-cam recommended this absolute gem !
This is so interesting! I do like how we look at main fashion but sometimes subcultures are pushed aside and I love learning about these subcultures! It gives more information as-well! Have you done one on Italy? 1960s Italy & especially MINA (Italian singer) was an aspect.
I like how Yé-Yé always felt a bit more fashion forward due to the French chicness. A lot of 60s fashion can veer into being a bit too far out, Yé-Yé always felt more ahead of it's time.
Thanks Emma. This was an interesting insight into a 60s movement I knew little to nothing about. In general are the any references (books, websites, etc.) you can recommend that addresses 60s fashion?
You’re welcome! I do have tons of videos up about all different kind of 60 styles as well as starting a 60s wardrobe so maybe that’s something for you? I can also recommend the vintage dancer website. They do a great job explaining vintage styles. Overall, I would recommend you to watch and listen as well as read a lot of pieces from the 60s for a great insight ⭐️

I absolutely LOVE France Gall. Her album ‘1968’ is a masterpiece, I highly recommend it.
I love this, I'd never heard of yé-yé style!

Instant sub. I hope you blow up in fashion history UA-cam. Such good insight into history and counterculture.

hi Emma how cool it wouldve been to be in the 60s with the music hairstyles makeup clothes.. thanks to you bringing it all back love it all 🌻🧡.
You’re so very welcome! If there’s ever a chance to travel back I’d take it in a heartbeat & I’ll take you along 💌
Fab video!! Often ( non English ) European Sub cultures are overlooked - I myself would class myself as YèYé Rocker 😂😂❤
Great. I want to check the subculture out more!
