- When Tying Leaders for Striped Bass Striper Hybrids or any kind of live bait fishing, Leave a tag on the swivel side of your leader long enough to attach split shot. This way you don’t damage the main line or leader weakening it causing break offs!

What lbs test leader? Mono of flurocarbon?
+russellpsi I normally run 17-20 lb mono leaders except when we are fishing heavy timber and I’ll up it to 30lb. Thanks for watching
What bait do you use
+Joshua Clifton I’m typically using gizzard shad, blue back herring or trout in various sizes depending on time of year
Who uses a split shot 😮
+Robert Steele it’s actually pretty common when you need to get your bait a little deeper. I do, however use in-line weights more often, but being able to quickly attach a split shot to the tag ends is a very fast way to get to the fish
