iwasNeverGivenAName For one, I thought that slow motion video along with the ref in the video confirmed that Conor did not score a knock down. Also, I think the only way to make Conor's boxing experience look even half way decent, is to use deceitful tactics, like pretending he wasn't easily dominated by Floyd, and pointing out how many "punches" conor landed, knowing full well conor's hammer fists and slappy tappy shots were about as ineffective as a punch could possibly be. The whole thing has nothing to do with Floyd really, as he barely trained or even took this seriously, it has more to do with Conor pulling the wool over his fan's eyes for a big payday, knowing any boxer from 140lbs up in the top ten would eat him alive in a boxing ring. Clever on his part. The joke is that there are still Conor fans walking around and acting like it was a serious boxing match, or acting like Conor did well. I think it does, it's older than UFC, there's more amateur boxers than amateur MMA fighters, there's more pro boxers than pro UFC fighters, and as a result more fans in boxing than UFC.
Chrispy the amount of athletes doesn't necessarily equate to popularity of a sport (which also isn't super clean cut in gauging btw). Boxing isn't as popular as it was back in the day obviously. But mma really is trending among young people and there really is alot of potential in marketing it and putting it at center stage worldwide in the coming years. Even on par with soccer etc. Plus ufc isn't the only pro venue and are you sure on the number of athletes? I'll look it up. And not bagging on boxing btw

Paulie is trying to hype a potential fight with Conor because it would be his biggest payday ever. If Conor return to boxing, he's gonna face Paulie and this was probably by design. Paulie was and still is outta shape but it not to hard to get back into boxing shape 7 months into retirement.
If they were to fight, I'm sure Pualie walks away with a majority decision . Conor is not a boxer. Any real analyst would tell you that Floyd gave him the early rounds. Conor has some skill but its more of like a guy that about to fight for the 10th time professionally, not of a champion.
He isn't a boxer and that was actually why a lot of people thought he could win. Floyd fights boxers, connor wasn't gonna box which shoulda thrown floyd off. A pretty simple concept. The issue here is that McGregor would have to bring something new into the sport. It's just that there's nothing new that can be brought into boxing anymore. It's a complete sport. The highest levels of skill have been achieved and now it's just about who can reach these charted levels. The most exciting time in boxing was in the Mohammed ali days. When the sport was young. Mma is a different story. Still so much potential in the sport. It's currently in that stage boxing was 50 years ago.

In the fight with Nate he took some shots while counter punching. Even in the Alvarez fight he stood his ground took some shots while counter punching.
