I first heard her music as a filler between segments of an NPR program I was listening to while I was driving from the company I was assigned to, back to my apartment when I was stationed on Fort Stewart, in the state of Georgia back in 2016. I looked up that song, which was Genesis, and then when I found Grimes' music I instantly fell in love. I'm no longer in the army but her music became quickly a very passionately loved part of my love for music in general. I am happy that I also had a chance, since I have lived in the state of Washington since 2017, that I visited KEXP and got the opportunity to feel a sense of full circle connection.
