    Looks really good and im thinking of getting one. But it could be so much better. It would be awesome if they had inputs into the device, such as in input from a wideband sensor to give accurate AFRs and if you could attach a vacuum line again to give accurate boost as some ecus take estimates hence why some stock boost gauges are useless.

      Agreed, but at this price point, it definitely rises to the occasion

      @@GStillJr8 so you think it's still worth getting? Just out out of interest do you know of anything that fits what I described in my first comment?

    • @GStillJr8

      I think what's important to remember is, it provides far more information than you'll get from the factory. Some insight on things you didn't realize you'd think you cared about due to how many parameters are available... all for the fraction of the price of most HUD's and Tuners. If you're chasing tenths of a second and considering wideband, this may not be the tool for you, but for the price point, it's not designed to be.
      I can no longer use mine as I run a JB4 Tuner with some fuel bias modifications on their 93 Octane map, so that's in my OBD2 port now. It doesn't give me as many available parameters as this gauge did though! Hope this helps.

      @@GStillJr8 Yeah definitely helps alot, thanks. I'm not chasing tenths or anything like that Ive just been looking for something like this but with the added inputs such as AF and boost like I said, but only so I've not got alot of different gauges. But I think I'm going to get this then maybe in the future something like I'm looking for will come on the market.

      Hi, got mine and it works great, but I was just wondering if you got yours to detect knock? I downloaded the pid from the website and loaded up the knock one but when it's on screen it just displays the works time out. Just wonder if you've found this also? Or have you got that feature to work? Cheers

    Boost isnt showing a value in my legacy gtb. Thats what i bought this lufi for. Anyone got any ideas as to why?

    • @GStillJr8
      @GStillJr8  Рік тому

      Keep scrolling through the available PID's. Instead of looking for "Turbo", use the Manifold Pressure. It has the proper formula to display boost pressure and vacuum. It's the one I'm using in the video. Should be the top right hand corner of the page with 12 parameters showing.

    Does the GPS orange symbol (top left hand corner) flash even after detecting the correct time and date? Does it go away after a while?

    • @GStillJr8
      @GStillJr8  6 місяців тому

      Sorry but I'm not familiar with the GPS symbol. I don't recall seeing it actually, so its possible there's something you need to correct in the setup.

    Bro can you helllppp me please!!!
    I was doing the customization where you add the extra parameters. Now my car doesn’t run well. What have i done ? 😬😟😭. How do you reverse the pid thing.

    • @GStillJr8
      @GStillJr8  Рік тому +1

      Adding a custom PID should *NOT* make your car run any differently. It's really just attempting to read information from the ECU. There may be another issue causing your poor performance. To reverse it though, simply go back into User Setup and change the file location PID back to "User1-9" (whichever one you changed). Then remove that one from your view. Hope that helps!

    Do you think LSPI would register as knock?

    • @GStillJr8
      @GStillJr8  7 місяців тому +1

      I definitely noticed very minimal recognition of LSPI as knock when in high gears at low speeds. Which isn't an ideal spot for the vehicle to be in anyway, but again, I didn't see it very often!

    Being a CVT, do you really need the shift lights? Wouldn't leaving it in auto not shifting at all just hold you at peak boost, rather than trying to 'fake shift' a car that doesn't really have gears, risking falling out of boost?

    • @GStillJr8
      @GStillJr8  3 місяці тому +1

      @kaiwilliams12 I guess some would say that's a valid question. If you're enough of a car enthusiast to be watching this video, you're probably enough of one to acknowledge how sloppy a CVT feels when driving spirited, on a track, etc, especially in a throttle by wire application. While they're more like "logical gears", they still serve their intended purpose. Connecting to the throttle and RPM's more closely in specific situations is still necessary in managing corners and being deliberate about power delivery whereas running in automatic is more of a guessing game. Additionally, I'd wager *all* CVT's run faster 0-60, lap, and 1/4 mile times in a "manual" mode when driven by experienced or professional drivers. Lastly, this is still a turbocharged vehicle, with tons of work done to the intake and exhaust. So if I want a traditional shifting experience for sound alone, I think it's great that I have that option even with "fake gears". The shift light helps you avoid losing momentum. Most CVT's shift you up when you exceed a certain threshold and depending on the programmed ratio, that can feel like going from 2nd to 5th and ruin the driving experience. Hope that gives you an alternate perspective.

      @@GStillJr8 fair enough bro! Guess that all makes sense. I've personally never owned a CVT, let alone had one on a track, I've driven a fair few but that's about it. Apologies if any offense was taken by my initial comment, after re-reading what I said it, sounds like I came off pretty rude 😅, honestly didn't mean any offense by it. Was just genuinely curious as I've only tracked dct's, manuals and traditional automatics, haven't had track time with a CVT just yet. But they're becoming more common. My partner is about to look at a Subaru Levorg 2.0 for her next car so I hope to try that around a track one day. I'll take your advice and try the manual mode around the corners for more predictable power delivery 👍🏽

      @@kaiwilliams12 no worries. I actually don't even use this unit anymore, as my vehicle now runs a JB4 following all of the modifications that have been done. However, I do run a shift light on the JB4 HUD for all of the same reasons I just mentioned. This vehicle wasn't originally designed to be as sporty as it's little brother WRX, but it now performs better in comparison. With a Pedal Commander or a tune to enhance the throttle by wire experience, CVT's overreact to varying levels of pressure. Sometimes you deliberately want to drop from 4th to 2nd (just one example) and because Automatic is a calculated series of measurements, your desired end result may differ from what the ECU/trans comes up with in that moment. I've been driving CVT's for over a decade now, my 1st being a BRZ that had about 300whp. CVT has limitations for sure when it comes to big power/torque, and keeping them cool is a huge necessity, but it's come a long way over the years. No offense taken. Hope you enjoy the difference as you embrace "manual" mode in the future.
