Being a beginner sucks, but that's where growth happens. One of the best quotes I ever heard
But being a beginner is also really fun because it's fun to grow and see growth happen
@@yashawal yeah so even that one big of "wisdom" from lex was rubbish!
I feel like this is two robots having a conversation. But Lex is the protagonist robot that cries when he sees a flower, and Mark is the robot thats forcing Lex to work in the slave camps
Lex is Frankenstein's monster, freakishly intelligent mind in a duplicitous body.
Mark is just a lizard
🤣
Excellent robot analogy!!!
🥲🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the accuracy!!!
Not just being humbled….but being humbled by an individual that by all common sense assessments you feel you should have destroyed them. That is the absolute beauty of jiu jitsu.
Imagine Eddie Bravo training Zuckerberg and tells him about government conspiracy shit + flat earth. That will break the fuckin internet
underrated comment
and eddie should tell him about lizzard people lol
“I think u have to be willing to get beaten up a lot” no sentence has ever summed up my start in Jiujitsu better. I’m a 1 stripe white belt and I earned a black belt in karate when I was younger and played semi pro hockey and D1 baseball and hockey and I normally do really well against all other white belts bc of my athleticism (REALLY WELL Actually) but the amounts of whoopins I’ve gotten from higher belts is actually quite hilarious. 😂 it takes a special kind of person to be able to persist through those beatings and come out the other side. 💪
Zuckerberg is doing something new right now with his public persona and it is really working. You could tell that he sometimes went into corporate mode in the interview but a lot more of his personality came through (probably thanks to lex:s interview style) where you got a sense of who he is that at least I haven't seen before. It's the same with these small posts about his physical journey with Murphy/jiu jutsu where people get surprised and impressed (myself included), that I think hints at something bigger going on. Find it interesting, comparing to for example Elon who I think is starting to "hide" more (behind jokes, political outbursts etc) it feels Zuckerberg is rather coming forward. Interesting.
Really interesting insight.
lol it’s always been clear that he is a highly intelligent and somewhat socially awkward guy who was thrust into extreme fame and had to make choices with massive implications on a daily basis. The scare/hate campaign against him on the internet was always just people with little brains who can’t accept or understand a normal person started something as large and influential as Facebook.
Agreed. Especially about your comment about Elon. Elon with his halo effect and original "good human" vibes and the cred he built with Tesla and SpaceX, could have really spiralled his persona and his public image into a crazy positive stratosphere. But instead like an absolute idiot he started to act all "cool dude-y" running his mouth against so many different types of people...and now most people look at him like a fool.
@@probablypondering1657 he could choose to do of Facebook a better product for humanity and respect users privacy and he chose not to. He could chose to let Instagram and Whatsapp to offer some healthy competition and he bought them (and I still can't understand how they allowed this).
@@alexandrosloop haha i find it interesting how many times I used interesting in that original comment :D
5:00 being willing to be embarrassed is the key to reinventing yourself and growing
I started 5 months ago. I get owned almost every roll. I love it. There's so much learning in it and so much humility. JJ has def made Mark more human. When you're trying to problem solve and basically wrestle at the same time, you aren't thinking of VR or world domination. You're thinking, how tf do I survive right now in this moment?
Tap
That's what people love about jiu jitsu, the challenge. It provides a challenge for everyone, and it's something you can continue to improve and get better at. If you really like to challenge yourself and be the best you can be, then jiu jitsu is something you'll almost definitely enjoy. I can understand why jiu jitstu attracts successful and capable people. Many get obsessed with it.
This was such a good interview man,
And great analogy in this bit.
Ive run two bussinesses now, one was awesome, the other a total loss.
Good to hear about the being beat up, taking the punches, lol.
Very importnat lessons from Both Lex and Mark!! Being able to get humbled at something after accomplishing something!! Having the beginners mindset to get into something new, get out of the comfort zone and getting humbled to the point where it leads you to think in a way which in turn liberates your concious and sub-concious mind!!
really liking this interview - thanks Lex and Mark - much appreciated guys.
Or just download a jiu jitsu program into your brain and wake up saying " I know jiu jitsu".
Underrated comment…
its about the journey, man
the man the liza... uh i mean the legend himself mark the zuckaverse
Zuckerberg seems to be more human now... definitively more relaxed easygoing normal talk... less auckward. 👍
So Rich People Learn To Fight And They Have Lots Of Knowledge And Plus They Have Lots Of Money So They Have All The Resources To Outsmart The 90% Peoples
That's not an accurate way of looking at jiu jitsu or life. It's probably not for you if you lack confidence. It's fun, but be confident in your ability to learn, persevere, and defeat your opponents over a long period of time. Everyone get dominated at the start of learning it, but you need to keep practicing and believe you'll get to a point where you'll beat them. It's a good metaphor for life too. Mark can get better trainers than you, but that's not enough. With enough determination, work ethic, intelligence, and skill you can likely beat him and others better than him. It depends on his genetic and natural talent, but it's certainly possible you can be a beast. Go get it man, you can do it.
All the great BJJ fighters were once day 1 white belts. You just have to keep going
That was brilliant!
I gave up on JJ because I felt it was not structured: i.e. you spend 50min learning new move and then spar. Following class a new set of moves. I didn’t feel it was the optimal structure to develop proper motor memory patterns.
After many JJ podcasts I was surprised to learn that is the norm for all JJ academies. You build over time of “getting beat up”.
I just felt at the time that would lead to many incorrect motor patterns cemented (you do whatever works during spar as a beginner lol). I feel motivated to begin again with the mindset that not enough time to cement repetition is the norm. 🤷🏽♂️
Each lesson you collect (or sometimes don't depending on how you learn/your body type) a jigsaw piece in the form of a new move or concept.
As time goes on you start to put these pieces together in your own "game" in how you roll and spa. Sometimes the pieces don't fit the puzzle right away, sometimes they don't fit at all but the longer you train, the bigger your jigsaw becomes and the more move options, counters, traps etc you have to play with.
But your instincts are correct - there are better ways to teach and learn BJJ. Look up "ecological approach" by Greg Souders of Standard Jiu-Jitsu. It completely overhauled how I view BJJ pedagogy.
Nah go to a gym with structured curriculum and a system. They exist, just very rare.
Cage match 😂
As rogan said about mma.. Nerd assassins 👍
I think its more about BJJ not so much MMA.
We’re watching AI self teaching in real time. One bot communicating with the other back and forth.
Today was one of those days.. oss
no one talks about how marks a sore loser tho lol
Alex most definitely out run mark by having more down to earth analysis this round
I see him doing Ufc grappling pass.
He still seems like an alien.
"Everything in life goes from sucking to......." well said lmao
i mean the zucc already has implants in his cyberware to be excellent in jiu jitsu
Best advice is do not believe a word mark says. And keep all your private stuff from him cause he will steal it and sell it behind your back
💯
How does he steal It?? Can you elaborate?
so it’s all about the timeframe
Wait hold on, is this the same guy that got choked out?
Never liked MZ, I really don't like him
Still waiting for the sparring.
That guy is a alien 🛸
Just two AI having a discussion
"JIT"
Interesting
Regardless, Mark’s eyes don’t lie and I don’t trust him at all, to keep it polite. I would love the opportunity to keep my knee on his belly for a 10 minute round, not even try to submit, just pin😆😆.
Lmao
Why would you want to do that.? His deceit, if that’s what you detect, is his evolution…..
@@merrykaczmarek3757 you’ve got to be naive like a five year old to write something like you did. His companies have illegally sold your data, engaged in state sponsored spying and censorship on levels that warrant a serious ass kicking. Then someone like you comes along and asks why I would simply want to grapple this man and just bully for ten minutes! That’s getting off light for the egregious crimes he has committed! Thank you😉
Something in his eyes give me an uncomfortable feeling.
Give me money to attend private lessons and hire a training partner to let me drill and roll with . Everything is easy when you have money
Why are the neuralink ads so gruesome? Shouldn't it be implemented in dental implants?😏
? Did you comment on the wrong video?
let's just remember: facebook executives knew how harmful and addictive their platform is, especially for young adults, and still pressed on. sorry, even Lex can't make me loke this guy.
As bad as it is, tik tok and IG by nature are even worst. Alot worst.
I guess people aren’t responsible for themselves… lots of people aren’t addicted to Facebook but it’s easy to blame an evil corporation for someone’s weakness
There are McDonald's everywhere. Good parents know how to control it. If you or your kid is addicted to it, you or your parents weren't careful and/or aware enough. You can't go screaming at every fast-food spot poisoning our population can you?
@@Happycamper808 you know that instagram is owned by facebook right?
Come on bro that's like saying coca cola is evil because it's not good for your health. When you can actually just choose not to use those products lmao
You can’t duck the Zucc
lmao "advice" when you're a billionaire and get choked out at your own match, so you throw a hissy fit to have the match restarted so you win, and then have your facebook pr team release statement about how you weren't really asleep snoring lol ok bub
Zuckerberg could hire John Danaher to be his personal BJJ coach if he wanted. He should get access to the best coaches in the world.
i dont think john would entertain the prospect. i think he only works with the gifted.
@@ruutjormun2262true, he doesn't have patience for ppl who don't have some ingrained, deep seeded, intrinsic ability. He's looking for prodigies.
Gordon Ryan probably wouldn't let John Danaher do that.
He can hire anyone, money is not the problem for him
Zuckerbeg is awesome
Time
Money
Health
That's all that's needed to learn JuJutsu.
😅😅
The advice he would give is feed if if childrens souls, groom groomers, and eat cream pies left by wife boyfriend.
Zuck is becoming unstoppable...
Id rnc him in under 20 seconds
Just a genius and a lizard having a casual convo
I don't care about lizards.
That was the most .00001 brain ceo alien answer to a very basic question.
Asking the dude that can schedule as many privates as he wants with his personal BJJ coach and never actually had to attend a public class is kind of dumb. A lot of us would get a whole lot better if we had 1:1 privates ALL the time.
So true
RIght, he could schedule Gordon Ryan and Craig Jones and pay them 5 thoussand dollars an hour. He could get the best instruction in the world if he wanted.
White belt giving advice. Maybe just listen?
can you guys grow beard ? or only humans can.
The disconnect between him and us working class people is disgusting. Take the Simplist thing like taking up surfing or jiujitsu, he can do it at the drop of a hat...the normal citizen couldn't even afford to buy the equipment to do the sport nor the take the time off to do it yet he talks about pushing through advertisy.... FOR REAL??
😂😂😂 so you blame Zuckerberg for what the "working class people" are going through?
Jiu Jitsu advice from two guys who would lose to the kids training group
Lex is a black belt. What are you going on about?
He's a fookin robot.
Cyborg
He is absolutely dead behind them eyes wow
