Hope I can explain correctly using bits and pieces from the internet, In Chinese cǎi (採, pluck) also sounds like cài (菜, meaning vegetable) and cái (财, meaning fortune). Basically the lion is wishing good Fortuna back to the people

@@momentos_sg just find it odd that in two of your recent videos "cabbage tossing" seems to be a feature - i was wondering if it was more a seasonal thing or the cabbage was deemed a bad veggie hence the lion rejecting it :)
