    WOW !! I gotta give it to you man you went all out on this to make it as realistic to the show as possible. This is awesome !! I've seen the others SPM Replicas but the SPM parts have always been stationary. You took that extra step to make the parts actually transform back and forth and that makes all the difference. Now if you could only make the car more powerful whenever you press the SPM button so it actually takes off faster when pressing SPM that would be really really SICK lol. I always thought of the possibility of having Nitrous gas hidden in the car that when you press SPM it activates the Nitrous and that would act as the power boost. But the flip side of that would be it could do damage to the engine from what I have heard.

    Glad to see it lives on as the original super pursuit cars have been crushed after filming. There was 2 used for SPM one was the full time SPM car that had all the exterior SPM exterior mods welded onto the body and another shell that did the transformations with no engine . You can tell with the different vents . They were crushed due to the fact that both of those cars were part of the train derailment cars which essentially made them a liability and unsellable to the public so universal bought these cars for Pennie’s to the dollar (those 2 and a bunch of other trans ams) with the contingency that those cars will be crushed after filming . Hence why 15 out of the 20 trans ams used as kitt had been sadly destroyed . Universal went as far as requiring documentation to prove the cars being destroyed . As not only they were crushed and but also shredded as well . The only part to have survived was one of the light bars from the front of the car which was later donated to the knight rider historians by the guy who was responsible for destroying the train derailment cars .

    All pop ups need cusion stops. dIY 1/4 & 3/8 black foam. Air assist pressure regulators on the lines .they are adjustable. They have small dials that can be set to the right pressure.this will prevent the jar slam effect.

    A new question has arisen. The air scoops on the side of the SPM K.I.T.T would those actually help with speed or would they hinder the speed??? Meaning would they be aerodynamically correct or would it cause drag from wind resistance???? In the TV Series it helped gain more speed. I’m just wondering if anyone else has given any thoughts to this question??? It just popped up in My thoughts and so I thought I would share it with everyone. Now to be honest I’m really LOVING these videos. It’s giving Me ideas.

      @@MrSFSTUDIOS Like I said - It was just something that popped into My mind. The K.I.T.T on the made for TV Movie should have been Black like the Original K.I.T.T.

      @vestel777 Рік тому

      @@MrSFSTUDIOS Now if I’m ever able to save up the money to purchase a 1987 Pontiac Trans AM/Firebird My K.I.T.T wouldn’t be a T Top. Mine would be a Hard Top. The ONLY reason is I’ve heard stories from people who have owned T Tops in the past and they’ve told Me about over time they start leaking whenever it rains.

    • @vestel777
      @vestel777 Рік тому

      @@MrSFSTUDIOS A lot of people have said to Me - Why in the HELL would You have a Replica of the Original K.I.T.T and not have it as a T Top??? I told them that My Replica just makes more sense to Me. And it makes it unique. The second change would be the seats. Mine would be exactly just like the Original seats but mine would be Midnight Black like Vanta Black cloth seats instead.

    Those cars were so much work to get them on the road and driving and not all of the cars were totaled after every jump but 80% of the ones they started out with were all totaled and had to be taken apart and all of the parts used to maintain the ones that they were still using
    Each time they wanted to add something to one of the cars the cars it was a 1 off like the high traction drop downs that was 1 car for the entire episode that used that function and it was hydraulics is what it was
    The super pursuit mode cars there were 3 of them and no one knows what happened to them
    The convertible top cars I watched a video recently and it makes sense to me because it was a short notice thing the convertible top action was actually a special rig it wasn't even a real it was a special rig that did the convertible top action and the cars that had been chopped and cut to make it look like it was a functional convertible when it actually wasn't that makes sense to me because of the amount of money that it would have cost to convert these cars to convertables these cars took convertibles it was a $100,000 per car just to get one car ready For the beginning of the series and they went through about 50 cars that they had to get Ready to have onset for its debut in front of the camera very expensive show

  • @vestel777
    @vestel777 Рік тому

    The only issue I see is the Air Scoops should be made of steel and be actual air scoops. The front end should also be made out of real steel. In fact EVERY moving part should be made to function like the original car. Those components had an actual function. Granted it was only for show. But if I had the money to build Myself a SPM K.I.T.T Mine would be designed as if they were made to have an actual function like air intakes. The EBS System when opened wouldn’t have the horrible Red paint like the TV Series. Mine would be Jet Black like the rest of the car. But actually My SPM K.I.T.T wouldn’t have the EBS System. Now the ONLY issue I had with the K.I.T.T in the Made for TV Movie back in the 90’s called Knight Rider 2000 was the New K.I.T.T was painted Red when it should have been painted Jet Black like the Original Car.
