@@deborahfoss904 thankyou for commenting, yes it is a beautiful thing, can't wait to start working on it, there will be lots more to see on its renovation and fitting. It can be a little windy up here but you can't have everything, we've got lovely land and views that we are over the moon with 🙂
It's great to be in on this adventure from the start. I think your quite organised considering what you've got to work with and planning. I'm very impressed your rescuing cats already and would like to contribute to their welfare [if it's ok with you] but couldn't find the 'buy me a koffee' thingy. @@SindyBoyle Thankyou sooo much for joining us on our journey and your comments 🙂 what a lovely thought, thankyou, unfortunately, as we are so new to UA-cam we haven't got the "buy me a coffee" facility yet but hope to have in the future. ❤️
@@PlanitPortugal Let us know when the coffee thing is set up. I have a lot of admiration for people who selflessly rescue animals especially one's in need of TLC.
Thankyou Sindy, we always planned to adopt the dogs and cats from rescue centres when we got here, its a big problem here, animals being abandoned but at the very least we have given 4 a great loving home :) and yes of course we will let you know. ❤
Thankyou, it it a lovely log burner, yes the flue will be staying that colour, I've been out voted I'm afraid lol, lots to do before its installed but we cant wait either :)
You can only use cement on Man made stones. Natural stones need lime. In and outside! If you want moisture problems use cement. Its your choice ofcourse.
Thankyou for your comment, we haven't done the work on this wall yet but will be sure to look into this and point it accordingly, thankyou for your advice its much appreciated :)
Hello from Cape Town, I have just found your content. What a great property, so much potential and a great price. I am looking forward to following your journey and watching you build your new home.👍
Oh thankyou so much for joining our channel. It will be a beautiful place, very slow progress but its a long term project so there will be plenty more to see :)
Thank you for the tour of your fabulous property and I’ve subscribed to see how your renovations evolve. That old wood burner is a gem and I tend to favour an unpolished flue. Best wishes from an Australian near Viseu.
Thankyou so much for your support. 😁Its a lovely wood burner brought all the way from the UK and Rob will be pleased he has another vote for leaving the flue as it is! Oh you are not far from us, maybe we can meet up for a coffee some time? in the mean time take care and thankyou again ❤
Great buy .. agree you got lucky 🍀 Very 👍👍But we always go on gut & if it’s meant to be it’s meant eh .. we reckon you guys roll the same way . Stunning place you guys have.. Luv the stone work, I did 20 years during stone restoration, 17 of them in Canada before returning to the uk just luv the craftsmanship of your place.
It amazes us the craftsmanship that goes into even the terrace walls, huge rocks built and chocked up with tiny infills, how did they do that hundreds of years ago with no mechanical assistance. Rob, did some Yorkshire dry stone walling back in the UK and its nothing up to what the guys did here! They churches and castles here just take it up another level! :)
@The4wildboys thankyou for your support, we've been overwhelmed by all the interest, new video will be out next Friday, see you there and look forward to hearing what you think. Take care, speak soon 🙂
@The4wildboys it's great isn't it, it's awesome, we brought it from the UK, got it for £100! Chickens are spoilt, but from day one we've been getting eggs so they deserve it 😁

Hi, and welcome to our channel, yes it probably will, just after we bought prices started to rocket. Yes we brought the fire from the UK, we found it on FB market place at a bargain price of £100, the flues we brought too, again, off marketplace. :)
What a cute house, and with so much development potential, plus a great view. Thanks for sharing! If you make your stove's stainless steel chimney shiny again, that shine probably won't last long if it's a single skin flu. You can also 'black' the cast iron stove, rather than trying to enamel/paint it. Blacking the stove will sort out the rust, as will you using the stove regularly. Blacking makes any tired looking stove look surprisingly smart.
Thankyou for your comments, yes lots of work to do, we will be doing it all ourselves so a long term project :) It is a single skin flu on that part, the rest to go out of the wall and up to the cowl is double skin, one in the bag for Rob then! lol What do you mean by "black" sounds like the best thing to do?
@@PlanitPortugal Stove blacking is like a polish you wipe on cast iron with a rag, or you can brush it on - usually after wire brushing the metal first. It leaves the old cast iron looking fresh and black again, and hides any rust stains. The eventual colour is actually a dark charcoal grey.
lol, we still get the rain and cold but not as bad as in the UK. We have a lovely t-shirt weather day today of 25 degrees, not bad for the middle of November eh? 😁
Wriggley tin. Great description. Gonna love hearing your other names for building materials. Good luck with the work
lol, oh we have a few! Thankyou so much for taking the time to watch and comment, much appreciated :)
