@@Gospel-coalition prayers that your faith stays strong in the Lord. We all have different reason as to why we feel certain things. I use to believe God wasn’t always with me. It wasn’t until I started having revelation of what it meant to give God my honest devotion that I started to see things wholesome. He always had my back whether I seen it or not. Honestly I feel God has a love for you and will never let you go @Gospel-coalition
The bible teaches that “God is there”. It also teaches (openly, as far as I can see) that there are times and reasons when we can’t seem to see or find Him (He’s not, or at least doesn’t seem to be, accessible in manifest experience). I met a Pastor who wrote his thesis on what he called ‘The Mysterious Present/Absent God’. That title takes in a lot of Psalms, ‘Why are you so far from my groaning…’. Briefly, Where are you? (Especially now-when I need you most.). “Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?” That’s Psalm 10. Disturbingly we may lose sight of God when we begin to walk away from Him (though the eyes of sinful man thy glory may not see) but also when we are following Him closely (who had difficulty finding God like Job did?). I don’t know the details but I hope things get easier… and I know Christians who see your comments will say a prayer. “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” If I’m reading my bible correctly, this does not guarantee God will never seem silent or distant but none of this is true absence. As an intellectual aside it’s an interesting feature of the faith that all this trouble seems to undermine the idea of ‘wish fulfillment’. Sometimes when we need God most we can’t seem to feel close to Him. At other times we are surprised by (‘out of nowhere’) some foretaste of glory divine. These are cases where, ‘what we would wish for’ or expect, are out-of-sync with our experience of the nearness of God. It’s undesirable but… in an odd way it validates His reality as independent of our preferences.
we thank our Lord for being supreme and running everything everywhere! may we marvel at our Lord and His creation!
