I’m so happy that The Billlies song writers and arrangers have continued the song of 3rd generation K-pop with songs like “Snowy nights.” There is a bridge starting at 2:36 that leads to a crescendo at 2:54. They have pretty voices too. I’ll have to listen to the Billlies albums.
Why is this song, “Snowy Night” by Billlie is so beautiful to me? It is said that most songs are written in one key, for example key of C or the Key of G. Most songs are written around three or four chords. Most songs are made up of only eight notes. The Tin Pan Alley style of song writing, verse, verse, chorus, has been a song writing institution since the 1930’s. And yet 3rd generation K-pop song writers and arrangers have created their own writing style of songs that feature the Korean high/low sound, musical hooks, measures that get repeated two or three times, tempo changes, musical bridges for dramatic effect, and beginnings and endings in pianissimo/retardo. All K-pop songs and raps are about love. I am amazed at how many times a great K-pop melody can be recreated given all these perameters of K-pop song writing. While you could say that it is just Pop music, another major difference between K-pop and Western culture music, most K-pop groups emphasize vocals over instruments. K-pop groups have multiple lead singers and that every member sings a line in every song. This is used to dramatic effect. These are some of the reasons why I fell in love with K-pop. I hope that the 4th generation K-pop artists and song writers continue the song stylings of 3rd generation K-pop artists like my favorite girl group, the Lovelyz…. Haram is such an amazing talent! I am so excited to see her growth as a vocalist as they release more songs. She such an beautiful tone and good live vocals. Once she becomes even more comfortable in her voice and she starts perfecting her skills, she will such a great vocalist.

이런 곡일 줄 몰랐는데 진짜 좋다 의외인 건 데뷔 곡이랑 컨셉 완전 반대인 것 같은데 소화력 좋네 천천히 올라갈 그룹인듯
