I did this trip in 1977- on a 7 day maximum visa on a much more primitive boat, travelling with no camera( I bought postcards), meeting 2 french girls whose boat had been stuck on sandbanks for 2 days and nights-they had to fly back to Rangoon or risk overstaying their visas

on minute 5.20 where did you do this stopover? Does ferry do stopover somewhere too or directly from Mandalay to Bagan?
