I think that was kinda the point since I think Dion is one of the Male leads in the novel that Roxanna was born into. Cassis was literally made by the author to be killed and jump start the story. Granted he still is quite nice looking but he wasn't supposed to be able to compete with the male leads.

Typically those kind of books have more than one ML so the reader chooses what route they want to see. Thats why she often talks about multiple different endings instead of one true ending

I don't ship it personally Dion is like just the lesser evil between him and fountain dude tho I think he will be the villain of the story...He killed Roxannas innocent sibling that is why she hates him and her mother basically collapses when she sees him he is the worst even in the eyes of his own mother who is also a psycho but not enough to not know how painful and disgusting it is to lose your child and see their murder all around your house that is why she goes to comfort Roxanas mother when Dion is home or shows up. In the end, remember the whole goal since the beginning is for her to survive the novel plot through saving the brother of the female lead and bringing her own family down...The whole Agriche family is messed up the only normal ones are her mother and dead sibling...What Roxana wants is to survive and get rid of her family by saving herself in the process. The brother of the female lead is a great decent dude Roxana deserves a peaceful life if she is gonna get with someone at all I think he is better. We have not seen him a lot so I think we are not even mid story but right at the real start until now everything was preparing for this part

Because it was mentioned when Roxanne pursuaded their older brother to play into her plot, and that brother planned to make her his wife? Just pointing that fact out. So maybeeee the ship isn’t impossible. (Like i know it’s wrong but maybe there’s that possibility)
Novel has really stamped out that possibility. Cassius x Roxanna is end game and weirdly enough, cassis seems to have a personality change to become more obsessive, evil. Seems like the author thought dion was too hot, so focused the story on cassius, and made his entire character change into a caricature of dion.
This is why an alternative ending in the form of a side story got released by the author named: Bad Ending Of The Villains < Dion x Roxana > !! There were quite a lot of fans requesting it!! Even though the Dion x Roxanna isn't romantic but more like how would it feel for two villains to "end up" together vibe lol "As Roxana said, Deon could not have her when she was alive, nor could he have her after death. She had abandoned Cassis Pedelian with her own will even if he was the person she chose for herself, she still acted as if she would not give him a piece of her heart until the very end.
