@2:14 I love how you say "guys you are better than that". My dad was a suit and tie guy. One thing he always said always put your tie on while watching yourself in front of a mirror, take pride in putting your ties on.
Mr. Kransy thank you for these simple how-to videos for these creative knots. I wear suits/formalwear 90% of the time and was getting somewhat tired of the traditional knots. Now I have a little something to spice up some of these old suits
Alex, thank you so much for these videos. They are very easy to follow along with and you explain it very well. Before O simply looked at diagrams of knots and it was so daunting looking I just quit; Your videos help a lot and now I rock one of these knots every day working as a barber. I was tinkering with this knot because I noticed you end this knot with the seam showing on the knot itself and that just drives me up the wall. So what I did was I started with the seam out and right before I synched the knot I twisted the little end so that the seam would not show on the front, synched the knot and then I simply slipped the little end through the loop, which is now on the front. This all means NO SEAMS SHOWING and by slipping the little end thru the loop (remember now located on the front of the big end) the little end or "the tie your tie is wearing" is ALWAYS centered because it was fed thru the loop. Please give me your thoughts on that. Thanks man, love your tie videos!
Mirroring the image is BRILLIANT. Nailed this in real-time on my second attempt only due to the EXCELLENCE of this video. AWESOME work, man - many thanks!!!
my dear sir, now it has to be stated: you've got style, man. this is not just about making a tie knot. this is art. with style. awesome. keep up with the videos.
this knot WILL get attention.. be prepared for positive and negative comments, if your're the kind of person that can handle that, this knot is for you, thanks Alex
you know, i just wanted to learn how to do a windsor for a wedding, then i started to watch all this knots you do, and you're just awsome. it's incredible! thanks a lot!!
Honestly, I trully enjoy all of your videos, but your tie knots are the best on youtube by far. You have taken the "tie fetish" to a whole new level of awesomness! Love it!
Im trying this tomorrow for a convention. I'll send you some pics! Thanks man, you are THE BEST OUT THERE. Thanks for great easy to follow instructions I did mine in no time.
I just did this for my 8 year old son using an adult sized tie.. It turned out so well that it looks great even without a vest. The thinner part of the tie ended about an inch higher than the thicker part of the tie so it looks like he's wearing two ties. ^_^ Just needs a tie tack to keep them lined up. ^_^ Thanks for sharing!
great video's man! I'm working over here in germany and I have been wearing the trinity and eldridge for a while now. The look on peoples faces as you see them trying to figure out how you tied the knot, makes me want to learn more! I cant wait for it to cool down so I can rock this knot more often! thanks again
Hey! Thanks for this upload. Being rather short waist-ed, it's nice to see some knots that use up more of the standard tie length. The simple knots always leave me needing to pin up the back of my nice ties. Loving the dapper content!
this is an awesome knot! I needed a cool tie for an 8 year old boy for our wedding and this was perfect as the tie we chose was purple with a silver end and when I finished this knot, the silver is on the top and the purple is on the bottom and will be PERFECT for him!
Thank you I couldn't understand anyone else that I try to tie this knot by watching their video. Thank you for explaining this knot in detail. Just perfect.
You have elevated my look with your in depth and easy to follow instruction whenever someone asks how I know so many extravigant tie knots I always say I dont but alex kransy on youtube does thank you you obviously care about your work
Alex Krasny: How to infuse humor, seriousness and a slight cockiness into videos about properly tying ties. I wear the Eldredge four times a week for work and I love it. :)
Ok, there you have a point. I wear a tie once every Sunday. I had to teach myself how to tie a tie, and videos like the one above are amazingly helpful for those who are unfamiliar with tying ties. I'd wear this to a wedding, or even to a church service, or a formal party. I'd probably take the elridge or cape knot for a job interview, because they put out a greater sense of elegance, high-worth, and, as you've mentioned, formality..
I just got myself a Roundtree & Yorke tie that is two toned. I tired it as soon as I got it, even though I didn't have a button up shirt with a collar or a polo. It looks awesome with the two different colors on a tie. Warning: It took me a long time of tie hunting at Goodwill, Nordstrom Rack and Dillards Clearance Store. This find, at any of those three stores (two of them being the best "high end" place, for cheap), is a rare find. It took me 3 months to find this awesome tie.
This will be my fourth out of your Knots... All the "real" Tie wearers at my Kingdom Hall Love them. I gotta be able to do them all before I share these videos. But I love what ya doin.. keep up the good work!
So I have been using this knot often lately. I wear it "without" the vest/jacket/sweater. I start with a real short small end before wrapping and end up with a perfect length fat end and the small end goes about 1/3rd down. It looks sweet, even and no need for covering up the bottom. I am getting all kinds of good responses from it.
hey alex, What would you call a tie with the two different patterns/ colors on it.. like the one used in this video? I have one that I got from my Uncle but I have no Idea how to search it online to buy more of this type.. can you help me? btw this knot is amazing, I'm going to use it as soon as I get a tie like that...
The tie is wearing a tie. That has to be the most awesomest [sic] thing in all of history. I don't actually like the look myself, but the thought is mindblowingly cool.
hey Alex, I like this knot a lot. but u see my mom wants me to do a cape knot instead so i told her i try this one first if it suits me then im wearing this for my grad. it suits me but i have to go with what my mom says it turns out being the best decision. But there is something cooler i have to tell u i made a cape knot while making this. and elgdred this is like the key to every knot i like. i just started watching because in a few days i have my grad day.
It's making my head explode. I feel like a traditionalist being introduced to something super radical. On one hand I love it, on the other I can't wrap my head around it, it's so different. Would something like this go with a tie clip or would it be better to let it stand on it's own?
Just tied it, looks AWESOME, I used a satin red tie with a green pinstripe shirt, the tie came out looking like a rose so I have dubbed this the Tokyo Rose knot.
Thanks for all your videos. I especially like the Trinity Knot, and have taught it to several friends. Do you find that there's a correlation between how thick (not wide) a tie is and how well it works for this knot? I have a blue diagonal-stripe tie with a contrasting solid color thin end, and really wanted to use the Merovingian knot, but it looks terrible. It's a very thick tie, and I was wondering if that's the problem. I can tie the knot, but with this tie the knot is comically huge.
Thanks Alex, I've watched, the Ediety, Eldredge, Trinity, and Cape Necktie. don't know which one to choose to conquer the ladies at this years homecoming and job Interview. They are all badass. "Dressed For Success"
Love this! Thanks for the coupon code! I got one and watched your video over and over and over and over and finally got it! Great video, I'm just a slow learner!! Working on the Tulip and Eldredge next!!
Wearing this today, no vest! Since; 1- I'm short, 2- I'm female and 3- I tend to buy big and tall ties, I think it works out, the tie come out to the right length on me with the cool effect of the 'tie's tie' in front. I think it looks pretty snazzy, so thanks for the video!
You Sir, are a God! Honestly, if I had half as much class as you I would be set for life! What's your recommendation for office wear. Basically I'm a little bored at work and want to liven things up a bit...
I've spent most of the day in a cape knot--my eldredge leaves a bit to be desired (and is not for all ties!) and my merovingian isn't quite where I'd like it to be in terms of tension and creases on fat and narrow ends. But i have a few tie-wearing occasions in the near future; should be good fun.
I'm not sure if people have a poor sense of style or if this knot is only for certain occassions, but I attempted to don this knot at a national science conference where I made a presentation for my research and people commented that my tie was "messed up" and were actually offering to "fix" my tie for me ;_; I was a little embarrassed so to speak, but am happy to say one person actually recognized it and asked me to teach him (to which I responded by showing him this video on my phone)
Love it! Saw this video past 11 PM, I actually got off the couch, put on a collared shirt and tied this. Then found a vest to put on to take pics. Maybe next time if I can get it a little more even I'll share them with ya.
Any tips on getting it to look a little more even for a tie-tying noob? Mine kept curling under mostly on one side not the other both on the main tie and "mini tie" It wasn't terrible but I'm pretty self critical.
Haha Alex I live for your tie videos. "Put that away. You guys are better than this. This is how you tie it." Perfect. Keep on dude. "My tie is wearing a tie. That's brilliant!" "How can you say no to this?" Haha you sir, are fantastic. x))
Alex, I have a question. If we tie the knot like in this video, and the little end ends up in the length as the big end, should we still wear a vest to cover?
Hi Alex! You know, lots of women wear ties, too, be it for work or pleasure. I would implore you to consider this in the future when posting videos. I watched a few to learn how to tie a tie for work and all of them spoke to only to men, and I am not one.
hey, great videos, i was wondering if you might be able to give me the measurements of the tie... i would love to create my own since i need specific colours for an occasion
Hello, just started watching your videos today, really awesome. I have a couple of them down already. My question is this, I just bought a new tie and was wondering your opinion of the brand. Who knew there were options for tie knots? These are cool! Now I need to wait for someone (not either of my daugters) to get married so I can put on a suit and tie - that's the only time for me
Alex, Thanks for all the videos! Are there any non-wild knots that are good for contrast ties? Something that looks like a Pratt or Windsor but makes the knot a different color?
Hello Alex, is this a custom tie, shop bought or home made, I do a lot of different tie knots like this and the murrel and the two different colours for these knots really set them apart, is it just a case out putting two halves of different ties together? Thanks. Brilliant video!
Your manner and presence in this tutorial are flawless. Great blend of clarity, concision, detail, and challenge.
Thank you!
@2:14 I love how you say "guys you are better than that". My dad was a suit and tie guy. One thing he always said always put your tie on while watching yourself in front of a mirror, take pride in putting your ties on.

I commented on the Trinity knot and I must say sir, you have amazed yet again. You have inspired me to where ties again. Nice work sir and thank you.
this knot WILL get attention.. be prepared for positive and negative comments, if your're the kind of person that can handle that, this knot is for you, thanks Alex

I have had 5 strangers take pictures of me wearing this knot. It is an attention grabber for sure. Love it. Thanks
the only reasonable toutorial for this knot on the whole internet….kudos!
I just did this for my 8 year old son using an adult sized tie.. It turned out so well that it looks great even without a vest. Your rant at the end? EPIC. Seriously. "THIS is how you tie it." Awesome.

I've been getting a lot of compliments at work using these knots. Great job!
Go to a wedding or reception wearing this, everybody will forget about the bride or groom, you're the superstar, baby!
Love it! Best line: "My tie is wearing a tie." Priceless!
I just got myself a Roundtree & Yorke tie that is two toned. I tired it as soon as I got it, even though I didn't have a button up shirt with a collar or a polo. It looks awesome with the two different colors on a tie.

awesome knot man, learned it and wore it to work tonight and made way more tips than i usually make. looks absolutely fantastic!!
Thank you man. Your more intricate knots are the perfect way to step up your game instantly
Man, thank you VERY much. Must say, that I am your new big fan! I already managed to learn Trinity knot and Eldredge knot, but this is BEAST!
This will be my fourth out of your Knots... All the "real" Tie wearers at my Kingdom Hall Love them. I gotta be able to do them all before I share these videos. But I love what ya doin.. keep up the good work!
This knot is so over-the-top. It's brilliant.
"My tie...is wearing a tie. That's brilliant." I love this guy. Awesome videos.
I'm buying the Ediety ties now. They've got a 4-tie set for $40. Shipping is $5, but your promo code knocks that back off. Thanks!
So I have been using this knot often lately. I wear it "without" the vest/jacket/sweater. I love this knot, and the humor made it great :) Definitely going to use this one a lot, Thanks for showing so many different ways to to tie a tie
Never been more excited to see a new video in my subscriptions box!
I use Perry Ellis ties with the two patterns and this looks immaculate. Went to a road show and got a lot of compliments!

I have one that I got from my Uncle but I have no Idea how to search it online to buy more of this type.. can you help me? btw this knot is amazing, I'm going to use it as soon as I get a tie like that...
Alex I love your mirrored tie videos. Thank you so much and I hope you keep coming up with more tie knots.
These nodes are too! I'm Brazilian, and I really liked their videos!
"My tie is wearing a tie" I completely lost it there, this is awesome, gotta try it next time I wear a tie
"My tie is wearing a tie." Tie-ception.
Lireoec Not quite, we need to go deeper!
I've got a friend's wedding to be at in the morning, so I'm glad I found this now!
The tie is wearing a tie. That has to be the most awesomest [sic] thing in all of history. I don't actually like the look myself, but the thought is mindblowingly cool.
"My tie is wearing a tie"..... I am SOLD!! Love it!!!!

Please, do more and more, and more videos, new ties! I love it. And thank you for posting all your nice videos.
Yesssss!!!! This is the real tie!!! I love it!!!! Thanks! I'm practicing now and waiting for the right occasion!
pretty slick. love the idea of guys being skilled at tying ties. first class all the way.
Just tied it, looks AWESOME, I used a satin red tie with a green pinstripe shirt, the tie came out looking like a rose so I have dubbed this the Tokyo Rose knot.
Got me sold, just ordered a purple Edietty tie! Thanks for all the videos.
Done all those styles of knots and really catches lots of attention. Now you should make a video on the "true love" knot. Lets see it.
Brilliant work. Loving this knot. Recently got a two colored tie and it looks even better than before.
I will be wearing this to a black tie event tomorrow. Just did a test run and it looks awesome with a tux with a vest.
Been using this video to tie this knot a couple times a year for years now. Great tutorial.
Thank you! Hopefully someday you wont even need it anymore!
Thanks for all your videos. I especially like the Trinity Knot, and have taught it to several friends.

This guy is hilarious. Really passionate but funny.

WoW, wearing this with a vest looks awesome. Does it work if I use a regular tie that has the same pattern on both the big end and small end ??
I'm not sure if people have a poor sense of style or if this knot is only for certain occassions, but I attempted to don this knot at a national science conference where I made a presentation for my research and people commented that my tie was "messed up" and were actually offering to "fix" my tie for me ;_; I was a little embarrassed so to speak, but am happy to say one person actually recognized it and asked me to teach him (to which I responded by showing him this video on my phone)
your videos are inspirational to the amateur tie owner and wearer like myself.
i love the Merovingian tie now! This is a unique knot, it catches people attention
Mind blown!!.. this is the knot i'll be wearing for my wedding! a tie where my tie is wearing a tie... Baller!
Still love this knot. Needed a refresher, thanks again.
Love it! Saw this video past 11 PM, I actually got off the couch, put on a collared shirt and tied this. Then found a vest to put on to take pics. Maybe next time if I can get it a little more even I'll share them with ya.
I would love to see them
Any tips on getting it to look a little more even for a tie-tying noob? Mine kept curling under mostly on one side not the other both on the main tie and "mini tie" It wasn't terrible but I'm pretty self critical.
Just practice I suppose?
Yea, I figured as much, I guess I was just hoping there was something simple and obvious I was overlooking. :-)
Please do more big knots. They're awesome and i love to watch you
After all that years I'm still going back to this tutorial, this time for my wedding. ❤
My man!!!! You are a genius!!! Thank you!!! You are awesome! Thank you for your help on how to "dress for success"!
Simply amazing man. Sometimes I watch just to hear the things you say to the viewers haha
Haha Alex I live for your tie videos. "Put that away. You guys are better than this. This is how you tie it." Perfect. Keep on dude.
"My tie is wearing a tie. That's brilliant!"
"How can you say no to this?"
Haha you sir, are fantastic. x))
my tie is wearing a tie... (love it hahaha... its like your tie watched one of your videos and said today is the day I get that promotion)
awesome! I'm thinking of wearing this knot for my next interview. do you think it's too casual for interviews?
Alex, I have a question. If we tie the knot like in this video, and the little end ends up in the length as the big end, should we still wear a vest to cover?
I don't know why I'm watching how to videos for ties...but I'm in love with this knot...hahaha
You should film all your videos like this. Very good quality. Better than the sitting in front of a computer. Just a thought.
thanks for classes they never imagined seeing, excellent teacher
Love it! My tie's wearing a tie... First time I've heard that. Will be trying it soon. Keep it up!
Where do you get your ties? I need ones that are long enough to tie like that
hey alex this knot is from matrix the merovingian guy is also wearing red tie in the movie can you tell what knot it's please
Liked for "My Tie, is wearing a Tie.."
Can you use a regular size tie? Would it work better with a tall tie?
"Have pride in what you're doing" I like this guy.
Would the directions be the same for a Lefty? I tried doing this, I get through most of it then it just looks like a giant knot
Hi Alex! You know, lots of women wear ties, too, be it for work or pleasure. I would implore you to consider this in the future when posting videos. I watched a few to learn how to tie a tie for work and all of them spoke to only to men, and I am not one.
I must say that knot is amazing.
hey, great videos, i was wondering if you might be able to give me the measurements of the tie... i would love to create my own since i need specific colours for an occasion
hey, thanks for the vid!
how do you call that kind of tie, where the blade is different than the tail?
Hello, just started watching your videos today, really awesome. I have a couple of them down already. My question is this, I just bought a new tie and was wondering your opinion of the brand. If you've had any, or know much about them. ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA? I know only two things about them, they're Italian and expensive. Some insight would be cool. Thanks ;0
B.S. He sounds like the Vince Vaughn of tie knots!. Amazing video funny and informative thank you sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
Yes this is the pink one. There is a light pink, dark pink and black attachment. They also have a red/grey/black one.
Who knew there were options for tie knots? These are cool! Now I need to wait for someone (not either of my daugters) to get married so I can put on a suit and tie - that's the only time for me
Alex,
Thanks for all the videos!
Where do u get your ties I can't find any that have a pattern and then fades into a solid color
