    Great video. I appreciate the comparison to the Exclusive, the board I was seriously considering until I came to understand the build quality was pretty underwhelming.
    This board looks very nice. Thanks for your efforts

      Glad you liked it! I like both the Exclusive, nice and compact, but still very elegantly finished, and the Supreme, very solid and large size, also elegantly finished. For tournament play, I would personally go for the larger size, of course.

    Thanks for your work
    An idea would be to have an app just geared to study chess books. You make moves and then on move 14 lots of variations come. You paused the chess board on your app (starting position) and then make all the variations on the real board. Then to go to the base position just look at your app to remember the base position. Have the board and app sync again and continue to evaluate the real game
    Greetings for USA

    Thanks Aart for a very informative video.
    The Millennium board is a really nice design and is now even better with the ability to connect the Chess for Android app to it 👍

    very nice its very cool but it kind of scares me: how does it reconise which piece is which and how does it even reconice when i replace a piece to another field?

    • @AartBik
      @AartBik  Рік тому

      The eboard recognizes what piece is place where and Chess for Android uses the Millennium Protocol to provide the over the board play experience.

    How do you enable ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION. APP CLOSES WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT

    • @AartBik
      @AartBik  Рік тому

      Go to Android Settings, Apps, then find Chess for Android, then Permissions, and allow location, there is a extra button for precision location. Rest assured that this permission is only used to connect via Bluetooth (strange, but that is how Android permission model works).

    A fine video. I have only one question. Is it possible to just analyse with the Chess for Android App each single move I make on the board with an output giving the following informatin: best move, best variation, search depth and so on?

    • @AartBik
      @AartBik  2 роки тому

      Yes, absolutely. If you import any chess engine, and switch to "Free Play (analysis)", you can simply play over the board (both sides) while the engine shows its analysis at the bottom of the screen. That way you can, for example, find blunders by looking at sharp evaluation drops.

    Hi Aart, thank you for your work and the video! I am planning to purchase this one for myself and I am wondering of you are still happy with yours? Are the technical gadgets and the set up still working smoothly, etc.? :)
    I would very much appreciate a response from you. I had a King Performance before and it was so poorly built, e.g. the wooden case was detached after a few months, also the cable did not function properly.... So I have some concerns regarding millenium. Thanks so much!

    How do I limit ELO strentgth in Stockfish for example if I want to limit the strength to 1500 Elo how do I do that?

    • @AartBik
      @AartBik  2 роки тому

      Stockfish has a UCI option called "UCI_LimitStrength" (checkbox) and "UCI_Elo" (number) for that.

    Thank you for your videos and app! I've been trying to talk myself into the Exclusive Luxe Edition, but now when I see it next to the Tournament board it looks pretty small. Do you find it too small to enjoy now or what's your opinion on choosing between them? And would you say the Millennium boards with Chesslink have better usability than DGT or Certabo? I really want the on-board LEDs and ability to play with just a bluetooth phone connection vs a full pc connection. Thanks for any help with this harrowing decision!

      I have the same consideration on what is best to get.

    • @AartBik

      Thanks for your kind words. I have a very good relation with all major vendors of electronic chess boards, so I am usually reluctant making very strong recommendations. But, in a neutral way, I can say that I enjoy features such as built-in LEDs (the more hidden when *not* lit, the better, since it is least distracting from chess), tournament size boards, beautiful wood work, and blue-tooth connection (over cables, just to keep the desk clear). But, I like every electronic chessboard that I own in one way or the other. I still hope my feedback is somewhat useful ;-)

    Tournament Board: the pawns seem to be a lot too small (and somehow clumsy) in relation to the other pieces. Don't you think? Are other piece-sets available?

    • @AartBik
      @AartBik  2 роки тому

      Hmm, no, the sizes did not bother me ;-)

    Hello guys how can i propose a draw to my opponent online?

    • @AartBik
      @AartBik  2 роки тому +2

      Touch one king on the board, then the other. That pops up a dialog where you can resign or offer a draw. Works for offline and online play.

      Ha! I love all the vendors, so not making hard recommendations here. The choice really depends on what you are looking for in a board.
