I befriended a bullied bisexual girl recently (she is bullied bc it's the south and they are not as accepting here) and she recently asked me infront of my friends if I wanted to help her start a GSA (since I'm straight), and I said yes and one of my friends were pissed at me for saying yes and I cut her out of my life because I don't need that in my life

There's a GSA at my middle school which I'm in. I'm not gay I'm straight and I love supporting and being in this school and group activity. It helps so many kids at my school and around the world

This is a common substitution for what was previously more commonly known as the Gay-Straight Alliance. As the concept of fluidity of gender identity and expression became more commonplace and understood throughout the entire LGBTQ+ community, the community realized as a whole that the name "Gay-Straight Alliance" was problematic and exclusive. So, it is more common nowadays to find GSAs changing their names to the Gender and Sexuality Alliance.
An excellent change. Not only does it manage inclusion, it seems to be really a step towards establishing each letter as a separate entity with its own voice.
+Mkkio Harts - Ls, Bs, Ts, Qs and others strongly dislike that the mainstream has a tendency to call anything non-straight "gay". It's no picnic for the Gs either. I could say it's like living in Downton Abbey and then having to lease increasing chunks of it to the cast of Duck Dynasty, but I won't.

Actually, both bisexuals and pansexuals can be attracted to all genders. The difference is that many people choose to call themselves pansexual to show that gender doesn't affect their attraction to someone, whereas a bisexual might be more attracted to one gender than the other, or might be attracted to different genders for different reasons. In this way, pansexual is more of a political and personal label whereas bisexual is a more general label with lots more history and an established community.

Nope! Pan means they love everyone regardless of gender. Bi is male and female. And poly is pan with limitations, meaning they love certain genders. Not all, but not just female and male.
actually, bi refers to atraction to primarily two genders, while pan is the atraction to guys, gals, and non-binary pals alike. pan could also be omni.

I hear "that's so gay" over 25 times a day. Wednesday May 17th is national day against homophobia. I talked to my principle and my High School will have host a pride day! :) Organize something at your school and take a stand.

Not every school allows it :( at mine (in England - a School that prides itself on allowing everyone to be themselves and be proud of it) I'm constantly told to not 'be so gay' to put it simply. To 'tone it down a bit'. We (me and my gays) asked the School if there could be a GSTA (gay straight trans alliance) but they took our comments (without saying anything LGBT, like they were afraid it would hurt us???) and completely ignored it. Sometimes making a stand works and that is so amazing but other times it's useless - what I'm saying is don't expect it to always work the first time, people need convincing a lot sometimes :(
I haven't watched your videos for a long time now, I guess since your coming out video or around that time, I don't know why. It just kinda didn't happen. And don't get me wrong, it wasn't because you are gay. But watching this video today and seeing how happy and confident you are now made me really happy. +ConnorFranta okay but bisexuality is more like the duality that includes liking one's own gender as well as other genders (so it isn't necessarily limited to the gender binary). The pink on the flag represents attraction to one's own gender, the blue is other genders, and the purple is the sum of both into one sexuality. As for pansexuality... well, they have the saying "hearts before parts" for a reason, right? Pansexuals see a person more as a soul than as a body, and they tend to fall in love with or be attracted to a person's personality rather than their body, similarly to sapiosexuality (the attraction to intelligence).I feel like I should also mention that terms such as pan, poly, omni, pluri, ect fall under the bi umbrella, meaning that you are included in the B of LBGTQ(IA)+ if you fall under any of those identifiers and that they are non-exclusive. I hope this was helpful, if not, I highly recommend RJ Aguiar (+thenotadam) 's Ask a Bi Guy videos for a more detailed explanation, but yeah.

Bisexual-attraction to 2 genders not always male and female,
Polysexual-attraction to more than 2 genders just not all genders.
Pansexual-attraction to all genders.
And Polysexual does not mean dating multiple people at the same time. That is Polyamory which I'm not very educated on. Hope that helped someone!
Some bi people also define it as "attraction to genders same as their own and other than their own" and may be attracted to more than two. Source: I am one. This is where some of the confusion comes from because there is overlap but its common to consider pansexuality as attraction regardless of gender as well as attraction to all gender.

In response to that "use slurs to be cool" question. Any time someone on my facebook says something like "that's so gay" i explain to them that it is not the right connotation of that word and to rephrase or unfriend me because I don't want someone that bad in my life. I think that clothing shouldn't be gendered. If clothing was made only by measurements, everyone could use some measuring tape, find out their measurements, go out & buy things they like & actually fit & there wouldn't be a stigma about it anymore. May Czos so non-binary & transgender people aren't valid? The ignorance of your statement aside, that is why I said clothing should be made by full measurements. No human is shaped "female" or "male," regardless of gender identity. In case you're not aware, what "full measurements" means is measurements of every part of the human body. And every article of clothing would come in all measurements. That way, you go to the store & you know whether or not something is going to fit you & have an idea of how it's going to fit you without trying on a million things that don't fit. And again, every single human on earth is shaped differently, regardless of gender or genitalia (as they're not the same thing). Also, men can wear dresses & skirts & they should be able to on a regular basis. Women had to fight a stigma to wear pants & now it's completely accepted by society. Men were the first to wear heels, not women. Style & fashion isn't gendered, the only reason most people think it is is because of how stores categorize it, how the industry makes it & society's current idea of what is "acceptable," which will most definitely be completely different in 10 years, as history has repeatedly shown us.

i know you dont know everything connor, and thats why im going to try to explain to you or your viewers what i've learned as a bisexual person who reads a shit ton of blogs and resources online about the lgbt community: that definition of bisexuality and pansexuality is so so biphobic as if us bisexuals were attracted to genitalia only and pansexuals were superior for falling in love for "souls". i am tired of tumblr trying to educate us and pushing their biphobic (and transphobic) definitions of a whole sexuality just because they feel like it.
you don't need a whole new sexuality because you are attracted to someone's personality. bisexuals are not superficial and we not only think of sex. lets erase that ugly difference that tumblr has impose in our community.

bisexual has been used with the "any two genders" and "more than one gender" definitions for literal years before the label pansexuality even came to be. like. can people stop erasing bisexual history because transphobic people decided nonbinary genders don't exist and so "any two genders" and "more than one gender" obviously meant "men and women"

I'm pansexual not bisexual but I do agree that bisexuals are getting this negative stereotype that makes you seem somehow awful. from my understanding bisexuality is the love of any 2 genders who love them for them like any other person. pansexuality is any and all genders who love the person for them. personality. anyone really loves someone due to their personality so saying pansexuals are better because they love their personality is so wrong because anyone falls in love with anyone due to personality. bisexuals love 2. pansexuals love all. there is no superiority in that.

I love this channel so much because it's gay but it's also calming and quiet. It's very nice to watch Connor's videos when you have a headache but just want to have some gay fun. :3
My classmates, friends and family constantly throw around offensive slurs(like blatantly racist shit and things that are ignorant as hell) and every time I tell them that it's fucking wrong it feels like I'm talking to a wall. Like I constantly need to remind my friend that calling someone "fucking gay" or "retarded" as an insult(or in any way, really) is shitty but she keeps doing it. I'm getting really sick of living around these people who constantly use things that other people can't change about themselves as insults. It fucking hurts.
Also what makes me really fucking mad is the fact that they don't think they're being homophobic or racist or ignorant. When I call them out on their fucked up bs they just tell me to learn how to take a joke.

I've been open about my sexuality since I was 8!!! (I'm gay, btw. and I'm now 13) And I love this! (rant coming up) I love that this was posted so randomly, yet it's so entertaining and very educational at the same time. I feel like since it's the 21st century, there isn't as many homophobes as the past generations (or decades, whatever), and more people are now accepting towards the LGBTQ+ community. Being gay, and not having such a big support system (seeing as almost everyone here in the Philippines is half-homophobic or just plain homophobic.), is sometimes really hard. That's why, when I grow up, I want to be someone like Connor. Someone very influential, yet very humble and educated. I also want to be someone that stands up for the LGBTQ+ community, and someone that educates people about said community. Still being 13, all I can really do is correct and educate my classmates, friends, and family about certain aspects about the LGBTQ+ community. Also, having typed this comment/rant that no one will probably read, I also want to tell people that, if you're still in the closet, please don't fight yourself. It'll only further confuse you and may cause you stress if you don't accept the fact that you're gay, lesbian, pan/bi (whatever you wanna call it), or asexual, etc. You be you, and surely, there's someone out there, be it you're best friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, or family, that loves you for you. Love from the Philippines! 😘😘😘
