Grant Cardone advised against investing in retirement accounts and argued that while such accounts offer a way to save money without paying taxes on it, they also act as a trap locking up funds for as many as 30 years. He criticizes this strategy, stating that by the time one starts using the funds held in the account, they'll have to pay tax on withdrawals, which might be potentially higher due to rising tax rates over the years. Cardone added that savings in such accounts could also be depleted by inflation and dwindling purchasing power. If Vlad doesn’t know the difference between penalty free vs tax free, I hope his financial advisor is not robbing him blind!
I felt that & from that point on, I bet VLAD was thinking, "I wish I hadn't have got into an argument with this bloke" ......
But Grant is wrong. When you withdraw from a 401k, it is taxed as ordinary income, not capital gains. When you retire, you have an income of zero, so you are in the lowest tax bracket, which means that the 401k withdrawals have a very low tax assessment. Plus, all the years that the money was growing in the 401k went tax-free. Vlad should have called Grant out on this because Grant was wrong.
@@dsouzar1 You never mentioned anything about Penalty free vs Tax free. There is a world of financial possibilities and errors that can be made. However, the primary flaw the Vlad demonstrated is misunderstanding of Tax free vs Penalty free.

Traditional 401k, you pay taxes. Roth 401k, not so much. There is a penalty if you withdraw before 59 1/2 years old.
There’s taxes depending on who you have your 401k with. I just had a 77 yr old client who was charged 20% for pulling out from their account. Don’t believe everything you hear.

@@Erniepotts with a Roth 401K (if your employer offers it) you can contribute a max of $23,000. If you are 50 or older, you can add a $7,000 catch-up contribution as well for a total of $30k. This is on top of the $7,000 you can put into a regular Roth IRA outside of your employer’s plan. In the event that your income exceeds the limit for contributing to a Roth IRA, you can still max out a Roth 401K at work.
