I stumbled upon this video by accident, This is exactly what I need for my bedroom window. I currently have an A/C installed in one window which works well when it’s 85 outside in the day, however at night when it’s 65° outside the air conditioner won’t even go on and my room is too hot and humid. This is ideal and would solve my problem. It's too inconvenient opening the other window on cool nights and adding a window fan (which also doesn't filter out pollen and the really tiny mosquitoes) so a smart fan such as this which doesn't need to be removed each day is perfect for my needs! I was about to order the Vornado Transom which is similar and cheaper but that model doesn't filter the incoming air, a feature important to me. So I'm still deciding...A lower price would have sealed the deal. Thanks for innovating smart cooling solutions! If you build a unit like this which also includes an air conditioner in the future that would be ideal and justify the cost for me since I need to use window air conditioners.
@@alexguolo5872Opening the window doesn't always work. I can open my window when it's 40 degrees outside, and unless I have a fan in the window, it's still 75 degrees indoors. Some rooms/dwellings have poor airflow that is not solved with just an open window.
Ok but what I want is a fan that is really smart. I don’t mean “smart” as in a can use my phone or Alexa as a remote control. What I mean is that it can connect to my WiFi, and get weather updates that predict what the temperature is going to be throughout the day and uses that information to best cool the home. Preferably it would also have indoor and outdoor thermometers that are mounted at least a few feet from the fan. Also it would be ideal if you could buy multiple fans that connect together on the WiFi. They could talk to each other through the WiFi and monitor the temperature at each fan’s location. One can draw air in at one end of the house while one in an upstairs window blows the hot air out. Others could also be connected to the system. The someone much smarter than me could create an algorithm or AI or some computer program thing that uses all that information to come up with a strategy to best cool the home and implement it.
Also I would be willing to pay significantly more for it if it was durable enough to last several years, was reliable, user friendly and had good customer support. You could probably even make good money by offering “professional installation” to optimize fan placement in your home kinda like surround sound system do. lol 😂 Also a high CFM would of course be crucially important.
Because particles of smoke are quite small (typically 0.3 to 1.0 microns in size), an air filter with a MERV rating of 11 or higher is required to efficiently remove them. The standard filter, a MERV 8, will not be effective. The optional MERV 13 will remove smoke particles.
I have more than one criticism, one why the need for tools? Two, why does there need to be a wedge that sticks out in the front. My window has a handle in the middle which means this wouldn't work with that thing in the front period.
Haha. Look at that cheap plastic control panel bending and flexing from the touch of a fingertip. With all due respect, this looks like shoddy plastic crap.
I thought this looked great until I saw that it's pushing air in. Cooling works so much better when you point the fan outward, pulling cold air in from another window and through the house. Pushing air never works.
We have tested many options to find the most effective cooling. For a single room pulling air into room with passive exhaust cools the space down almost 3 times faster than using an exhaust. When there is an opportunity to cool two rooms on different sides of the home, an intake fan on the north side and an exhaust fan on the south side is effective.
I can't understand the structure of your words .. you don't push air in you push air out, and if you pull air in from another window it's not filtered, and becomes contaminated by contamination in the house, which is normally two to four times as dirty as outdoor air.
Both positive pressure and negative pressure are effective. If I want to filter all of the air before it enters my home, then positive pressure is the most effective way to do this.
What a piece of garbage, a vintage ge window fan will cool a room far better than that so called smart thing could ever do. Want filtration? Put an hvac filter in front of it and there you go.
Interesting comment. I tried to add a filter to a standard axial window fan. The air was clean but there was very little of it. Most fans I tried lost 50% to 60% of their cooling power. Did you find a fan that does not lose cooling power?

The unit has sealing strips and insulated side panels that provide the same R value as a double pain window. The unit is sealed from the outdoors when it is not cooling so it limits any heat loss. It is significantly better than window air conditioners which have uninsulated side panels and window fans which have no R value.

your ac wont run... it'll only run if you have the heat on. Your home will passively lose heat.
