It will be interesting to hear how she develops her repertoire and dramatic presentation in staged performances. One notable thing seen here is that she knows how to use her hands well. Her gestures fit the meaning of the words she is singing, and she does not move in unnecessary ways. Adding this awareness of action to her truly lovely voice and the quite high level of skill she employs in using it will make following her career very interesting,
And Horne's fake timbre was criticized all her career because its not a natural sound production. Her forward, masky, nasal position created a muffled fake tone. She was immensely talented though, but alas, even the greats pick up bad habits and improper sounds.
Its a high quality voice, super potential. She needs to develop the chest more though. Its absolutely not there yet. Hope to hear more from her as she matures.
"Absolutely not there yet" ??? I wonder what yours sound like ! This is extremely harsh critic, her chest voice is already extremely impressive.@@St.Garoosh
Are you a singer, too? I think her head voice and chest voice as well is exactly "in the right place" - where it is supposed to be when you are a mezzosoprano. And the contralto roles by Rossini need the vocal range of mezzosoprano. How could you know that in Rossini's time singers sounded darker? Please tell me, I'm really interested in this topic. Maybe you're right.
What a voice! Huge potential - She'll be a star one day!
Very beautiful chest voice!! Also the rest of her voice is very pleasant. I wish her the best.

Exquisite timbre...more like Marilyn Horne than anyone else I've heard

I hope this wonderful young singer will develop her voice and follow in the footsteps of La Podles.
Very good !
But exquisite singing though
She is a soprano with developed chest register and the the expert dilettanti classified and make her sing as contralto

the color of the voice does not suggest soprano

And here you are classifying her!!! Just listen to her voice. If you like it...listen more...if you don't...move on!
