Never in my life did I ever think I would find myself spending 30 minutes out of my day to watch a family wait for their animals to poop and have a gloved family member in the field retrieving samples of thus mentioned poop... and I would not have missed it for the world!!! 😄

We ran fecals on our alpaca herd as well...80% of your parasites will be carried by 20% of your critters... the rest will usually have parasite loads that don't require treatment. Our elders way back then dewormed their animals and also themselves and children. Seems people were so much healthier back then too because we never heard of many of the illnesses & diseases as we do now. People, kids in general just looked healthier and had more energy. Our environment is a lot different now too than it was back then.
Well, we care a lot for our animals and they care for us and depend on us so we take care of their health issues but sometimes neglect ours. They have parasites and we share their environment and they share ours so guess what....

Good morning! Let’s get personal guys. We saw a ad on YT and were shocked. The lady said: do you have pets in your home? Do any of them sleep on the foot of your bed? Have you ever walked barefoot in the grass? Another question or two. Then you have parasites. My daughter and I immediately ordered our parasite rid! We never thought anything about ourselves. We treat all our animals with meds from our vet so now we treat us also. When I was a child-many years ago- Mama treated us yearly, guess we just don’t think about it in today’s world.
Talking about that I happened to think. Has Brooke had a tick bite in the last few years? It sometimes takes years for symptoms show up and it is very hard to get some Drs. to test you. My daughter has all the symptoms but no Dr. will test her. She had an embedded tick, the bullseye, flu and all but no testing. One Dr. even sent blood to the Mayo Clinic to test for cancer. Just sayin’. Terrible subject to talk about but you never know.
Good idea... I remember Jason got very sick from a tick bite under his arm. Brooke, have you thought of that?
First thing they tested for.. Brooke told it on her Video and the Live.. I live barefoot and at 72 Not changing now.. Funny story here is My soon to be X told me your next Husband going make you wear shoes.. LOL Nope 42 Years Still bare foot. Only one ever did was Walmart 28 years and couldn't wait get home Take Off those shoes. and Yes Family knows No Shoes when I die LOL
I asked once if she had been checked for lyme or other tick borne diseases. You can get bit by a tick and never even know it

You are so conscientious, proactive and protective of your animals health and safety. I love that you are always open to professional advice, too.
The easiest way to pick up poop from the gtound is to turm your little bag inside out over your hand and use it as a glove. You can identify it ahead of time. All you have to do then is turn the bag back right side out and close it. This way, you don't need to waste gloves.
Each and every creature on the Cog Hill 40 are loved and receive excellent care. Visiting a Vet is never inexpensive. Having the Vet make a housecall is wise in this situation yet it can be pricey. It's definitely the sensible choice. All the babies are living their best lives possible. The goats seem to look forward to visiting the milking stand, extra treats and pets for good behavior can be powerful motivation.

Instead of using gloves, turn the bags inside out and pick it up with the bag. Then turn the bag right side out over the manure

There has been one sitting right by the stand. I think they just have it move out of the way now. They showed it when they showed the stand in the New Milking Parlor it was sitting right next to it. :)

Cog Hill Farm constantly checks and rechecks the health of all their animals plus they consult with their vet. I remember back at the old farm, Brooke went on camera snd explained that they upgraded their approach to vaccinating all their animals.

Well, this has been an interesting video. I used to think it was a challenge to collect samples from my dog. I never thought about how much time it takes to check a whole collection of animals. I'm really impressed with the preparation Brooke is doing with the pregnant goats too. Your compassion for all those furry friends is wonderful.

Jason, I see every time when you come into the new barn all your garden and farm hand tools, rakes, shovels, etc., all in a pile on one side of the door. I would like to make a suggestion. Put some extra boards across where the regular boards are and one in the middle and get some hooks, hangers and hang the tools on that wall. It would look better and it would also organize them better so you could see what you have. .

Good morning Coghill I find myself laughing at you running after the animals for stool samples but it’s even worse when you have to wait for your dogs to take a P and you’re running behind them with a bowl. Hi Jason and Brooke. I read something interesting yesterday. It said that if you have an autoimmune problem, you really shouldn't eat garlic. Because garlic boosts your immune system, it can cause a flair up and make you feel even worse. I just thought I'd pass that along to you.
Jason, haven't you ever heard the old adage, "a watched pot never boils!"? Same with trying to get samples! I followed my dog around for 3 hours trying to get one! She kept watching me and wouldn't go!
