Took a non credit Power BI course offered by local Uni. Wish they used your video for intro to DAX. They started right in with calculate and time intelligence and I was completely lost. Your video did a much better job of orienting me. Wish I’d watched it before slogging through all the articles and more complicated demos they used. Thank you
Review and take appropriate changes in video:- Total Sale Measure calculation(@3:54) i believe total Sale can not be calculated by using sum(quantity) * sum(unit_price) in Measure with respect to CARD total
Excellent videos! I am trying to round down a number to the hundred. In excel I use =IFERROR(ROUNDDOWN(A1,-2), A1). I am having a real challenge making this work in Power Bi transformation.
I have learned a lot from most of your content. Thanks, Sir. However, I want to ask, how can I move my report/workspace from one environment to another?
Reports can be moved to different environments by just publishing the .PBI , and workspace can be just replicated and then we can change the server details as per the environment.
Hi Fernan, Just want to ask why the Total Sales is 25K. Having scanned the data, I think the total sales cannot more than $ 1,290 considering the Quantity is 129 and the most expensive Product is $ 10. Please advise.
I am confused. Why do you multiply the sum of the unit price to the sum of the quantity? If the unit price changes for each product, wouldn't you need to multiple each quantity by each unit price. Or at the very least use average rather than sum for the unit price but then it's still not accurate. For example, if I had 2 apples for $1 + 3 bananas for $2. My total fruit sale is (2*1)+(3*2)=$8. But if I just multiply the unit price total and sum total it would not give me the answer at all (2+3)*(1+2)=$15. -
Nope, it will not work. Use SUMX function in place of sum.......the reason is: you want a row by row calculation or want to use row context while sum is a function which use filter context..
Sir, The Sum examples you are giving are misleading. You can't just add up different items. Total Sales = Sum (Quantity x unit price). First Multiplication by row by row, followed by addition. With your dataset Total Sales Should be 806 This result t is incorrect : Sum(quantity) * Sum (unit price). Sum (column quantity) × Sum (column unit price). This result is meaningless. Would you please revise your tutorial.
@@palakvarshney6800 sir, please help me I'm in very confused state right now. I have learnt advanced Excel. People suggesting learn power BI. It'll help you to get good job. Can I get job only on basis of power bi and excel?
@@dexxxxxxxx Hi, I suggest plan your future wisely....if you want to proceed with the data science profile then it makes sense to learn a visualisation tool such as power bi, else learn something else....when talking about job power bi & SQL together along with excel will definitely give you a platform to get an entry level job...
The right measure would be sumx(Orders,Orders[unit_price]*Orders[quantity])
Yeap. I suppose the same. Cause 25K seems to be wrong answer
25k is because it if first does sum on the columns, ten multiply

Hi Fernan, Where is your excel file for practicing?
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
+1 subscriber, thank you Sir!
Thanks for the sub!
ok, so you calculate your total sales by summing up the price per unit and the total orders ..... and multiplying them... that can not work you know

Hiya, I think it was definitely a mistake on the calculation on my part!
Can you include TOTAL ()

Hello Fernan,
need your help to convert minutes column into seconds using DAX.
Regards,

use divide(?
Why did you use true in switch dax
With the DIVIDE function, you swapped numerator and denominator.
Exactly
