In many South Eastern Asian countries, the high poles jumping lion dance performance is very popular; these countries organize the poles jumping lion dance competition every year. The lovely audience really liked the show, they cheered and applauded with enthusiasm and excitement. In USA, the lion dance performers are not the professional ones, there hasn't been any lion dance team that being able to perform the high poles jumping lion dance. I would like to see this amazing dragon dance comes to live again. Already a lost Art in China culture. You require many skillful strong men to work on this Dragon dance. I last seen it 60 years ago in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia. You want to know more can contact Malaysia Chinese Association. If you got a chance to see it. You will never regret or forget . The dragon dancers carry a pole each and their movements are so so amazing many many times more trilling than this lion dance. The dragon construction plus the uniform is very expensive . The performers are grilled and trained continously non stop until the dance finished. You can see beans of sweat falling down from all performers. The best one was performed at nite. The dragon with colourful lights attached to the body was spectacular. Hope the teachers are still alive to past this lost art to this younger generation. I think it is lost. As the construction of this custome already a lost art.
