@@ThomasConnery I really want to try find some use cases for some business in my local area, because that gives businesses extra reason to get a website or redo their existing one when they have extra functionality other than just the normal brochure website. (And my day job is business software programming, so doing the dynamic data part of websites would be right up my alley.)
@@brianlandis3057 Have you perused the available marketing materials? Some of that might help. If you're starting out, you may find it easier to focus on one type of business or category and go after those first. It will help you to learn that type of business, build multiple sites that could be used as templates later, and build some initial relationships. resources.duda.co/marketing-materials
@@ThomasConnery Yes, I had seen those marketing materials before, but will check them out again. My first live site was for my wife's preschool that she started this fall (Amberland Kids Academy). I am also currently rebuilding a candy store website for a friend of mine who owns the business. He sells from a brick and mortar store and sells online too. I built his site 10 years ago in a platform called SohoLaunch--which was great for its time but now hasn't advanced enough in the last few years--and now am rebuilding it in Duda along with using the built in e-commerce component.
Let's say I have a list of testimonials that I want to display horizontally. Can I use collections for this? I want it to display the testimonials at the bottom of multiple pages.
Thanks for the comment! I just tested using an internal collection to populate an Image Slider widget with Name and Review text and it works. The challenge is finding the right widget that will work for your needs. Me? I use Repuso do display reviews and I'm a proud affiliate: bit.ly/2J033ZH
@@ThomasConnery Nice! Thanks for the tip. This client doesn't have any online reviews yet to feed in. We have to add them manually. I'd love to see an example of BOTH things above and how you do them in a video though.
@@blessedtoquest Good timing. I’m a bit behind in my video production but I do have a draft that covers Repuso. I can also add in a quick how-to on the manual slider widget for testimonials as well. Stay tuned!
Sorry to hear that. I simply follow Duda's image guidelines as documented here and typically do not have issues. Did you know that Duda will auto optimize images based on device? I do sometimes crop and resize images manually in Photoshop on occasion but the support article is worth reviewing if you have not seen it. Thanks for the comment!
@@ThomasConnery I also like that Duda optimizes pictures--and like you, I also pear them down to something reasonable before loading to Duda. I use the free and good Faststone Image Resizer program. It runs on the computer, not in the cloud. It's downloadable from the web.
I was really looking for a video like this!
Excellent! Glad to hear it Brian and thanks for taking the time to comment.

Excellent, would love to see the updated candy store when it's ready.
Thanks Thomas!
Very welcome!
You are the man.
thank you!
Thanks Harry! Glad it could help.

Tried duda. Can't handle images. You have to work on the image outside to format what makes duds happy. Even GoDaddy has better image handling

Brian Landis Nice, I’ll have to check that out.
