I read his book trying to understand Isaiah..and truthfully i was nearly traumatized! I had to put it down for a week and let the fact sink in that we really are all toast! Sounds like only the perfect survive..😢

I disagree on the need to know Isaiah to be prepared for things to come. One will be just fine if they follow the prophet. Many things Avraham talks about are speculation on his interpretation of Scriptures, and if he is wrong, will many be led astray? I believe it is good to work out Isaiah for oneself, but philosophies of men on some spurious end time interpretation can lead member to error, especially when they don't align with the church. I conversed with many of his followers who are heading into Apostasy or gleefully waiting for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to fail, so some "end time servant" will come. If anything he teaches does not align with scriptures or our prophet , disregard them as false teaching and hold to the Iron rod. This Church will roll forward as the book of Daniel foretold, with or without those that believe in an end time servant. Then, when the Davidic king of Kings returns to claim his kingdom, then will many members know the "end time servant" theory to be false and Peter at the day of the Pentecost to be correct.
What prophet? You mean the president of the church? Are you aware that D&C never uses the terms prophet, and president interchangeably? They are not the same thing. A prophet is one who predicts the future, our church leaders do not do this anymore. Joseph Smith did, Moses did, Nephi did, ect. Now the D&C says it is the duty of a president of the Melchizedek priesthood (note that this technically applies to every stake president as well the president of the whole church) to be a prophet, seer, and revelator. God nowhere at anytime says that he will automatically give these men these abilities, he says it is their duty to have or develope those abilities. Before you accuse people of misinterpreting the scriptures perhaps you should actually read them. D&C sections 107, 119, & 124 from verse 123 onwards are good places to start.
@isaac_steinberg I think you need to read D&C 124 again, especially verse 125: 125 I give unto you my servant Joseph to be a presiding elder over all my church, to be a translator, a revelator, a seer, and prophet. Joseph Smith Jr. was given the Keys of Prophet, Seer revelator, and not all the members. The Brigham Young and the 12 received those keys before Joseph Smith death: “I do not care who leads the church, … but one thing I must know, and that is what God says about it. I have the keys and the means of obtaining the mind of God on the subject. … “Joseph conferred upon our heads [referring to the Twelve Apostles] all the keys and powers belonging to the Apostleship which he himself held before he was taken away. … “How often has Joseph said to the Twelve, ‘I have laid the foundation and you must build thereon, for upon your shoulders the kingdom rests’” (in History of the Church, 7:230). Anyone claiming to be a prophet over others in the Church who has no Keys is a false prophet. I know President Nelson is called of God as our prophet. It is the Holy Ghost that has testified his appointment to me, and if one is spiritually blind, is it because there is no companion of the Holy Ghost?

Also remember the D&C section 107 is clear that: "91 And again, the duty of the President of the office of the High Priesthood is to preside over the whole church, and to be like unto Moses- 92 Behold, here is wisdom; yea, to be a seer, a revelator, a translator, and a prophet, having all the gifts of God which he bestows upon the head of the church." Now technically this is referring to the president of the high priests quorum, which is not the same office as a stake president, but the office being separate from the stake president is for the purpose of teaching these men how to do the job of a stake president, which is why the second part mentions that these presidents of the high priests are supposed to have all the gifts that God bestows on the head of the church or in this case a stake; stakes in the D&C are often called churches by the Lord such as when he sends people to the east to build up churches plural. In fact D&C 124 explains this to explicitly. "133 And again, I give unto you Don C. Smith to be a president over a quorum of high priests; 134 Which ordinance is instituted for the purpose of qualifying those who shall be appointed standing presidents or servants over different stakes scattered abroad; 135 And they may travel also if they choose, but rather be ordained for standing presidents; this is the office of their calling, saith the Lord your God." Also, just to remove all doubt that the stake president is not supposed to be the president of the high priests quorum the Lord specifically mentions the stake presidency as seperate. "142 And again, I say unto you, Samuel Rolfe and his counselors for priests, and the president of the teachers and his counselors, and also the president of the deacons and his counselors, and also the president of the stake and his counselors." So putting these together, we learn that the High priests quorum president is supposed to be a seperate office from a stake president specifically so that High priests quorum presidents can learn to be a stake president so that when a stake needs a new president or a new stake is formed there will be people available to do the job correctly. We know that the high priests quorum president has the duty to be a prophet, seer, & revelator because those are the gifts that a stake president or indeed the president of the whole church needs to have. Again read it all carefully God never says that he just gives these gifts freely to people, it says it is the duty of these officers to have these gifts. Clearly these men have to put in the effort to attain these gifts and when the Lord thinks they have lived up to their part he will actually bestow the gifts on them. So I was correct, simply being president of the church, or a stake, or the high priests quorum does not automatically grant you these gifts.

Yes, they will have keys to receive revelation for that group but not for the Church. Bishop and stake presidents exercise revelation in their counsels and meeting frequently but are not to be the phrophet of the Church or a seer.

Remember translation and also resurrection are all BEFORE Christ comes. Then those go up and meet him in the house and come WITH him.
I’m curious what book it was, I just started Isaiah made simple. Also you can do it through Christ, He can enable you! Have faith in Him.
