@@matboy314 it's been the best selling amp in the world for going on 6 years now. You can attach 2 of them in stereo too btw. The artist version are absolutely a tone machine insanity lol just from the panel no laptop needed. I will say once you use tone studio though it opens up a whole new world again . Andy James has gotten insane tones out of his artist Katana check them out
Katanas are great. I have a 50 MkI and a 50 MkII connected ABY via Radial Big Shot for wet/dry glory. For home playing this is more than enough. Solid build, everything built in, good sound. Love ‘em.
They really are great. I think they provide a nice baseline sound for guitar reviews too. If someone is playing through something exotic, you never feel sure that you can get the same sound at home!
@@matboy314 Absolutely. And with the attenuation, I'm not bothering anybody (and headphones too, if late at night). I've never once hooked them to the computer either, I just run 'em as-is and they're perfectly fine!
I have a Boss Katana Mk 2 Artist amp, and I love it. I use the various Inbuilt Boss effects and the Tone Studio to create the tones of my favourite guitarists, such as Dave Gilmour. I love the versatility, quality and value for money that this amp provides.
I have to say Scouser2230, that looks like a really attractive proposition of an amp. Despite my glowing review of the basic MK2 Katana amp, the thing I most dislike is the control panel being recessed at the back of the top panel. My amp stand is tilted back and it makes it hard to see the controls. The Artist version puts the panel where you can see it properly!
Agree on the head rush speaker. I’ve got some alto pa speakers and I can’t tell a difference between those and the head rush other than they are less than half the price. They sound fine for monitoring a di set up.
The Katana is not a amp modeler it is a A,B circuit amplifier just like your tube amps. Glad you like it they are amazing
Hi James. I didn't know the details of the electronics, but I agree, it is amazing, and rightly becoming a go-to standard.

I find the cleans brittle but I might buy one anyway.
