These mining carriages are indeed hard to refit. You can put in an air vent which you can pressurize and depressurize from the cockpit. (Or you add an event controller for pressurization when you are in the seat.) I put 6 jump drives in mine, and moved the top gatling forward to fit a 7th jump drive on the top gatling's spot

You can make a nice early large grid miner out of the mining carriage. Like a lot of vanilla grids, it's got too much thrust in one direction - wise to nix the large ions for more room and the gold & cobalt from the excess thrust components helps you get a JD faster-
I said that about turning the ship into a miner during the video, i agree with you on the thrust issue with npc grids. but like i said to another commenter, my goal in these videos is to just update them with the new block to what I think should be in the game now that the game has been updated so much with all the new blocks.
