This was probably the first real tutorial on how to do vocals in mpc. Many have videos claiming to be tutorials but they don't actually walk you through the process like this! Thanks man!
🙏 I didn't feel like there was a video on this. I had been thinking about it for awhile. It's a good feeling to be able to make content on stuff I would have liked to watch myself. Thanks for the comment 🙏
Yea,if ya new to the whole beat machine thing it’s easy to look at it as just a “Drum Machine” but if you dig deep on the sampling end of it you will realize you can do anything even all the way back to the MPC-3000 you could do full songs with full vocals of choruses, verses, etc. these machines are really only limited by your imagination Imo.shot out to Roger Linn a true musical genius for ever creating the Midi/Music,Production Center/Controller,Thee MPC.
I'd like to see that with the 3000. Still never seen one in person. You can always figure out some sort of workaround. I wanted to do vocals with my 500, as long as you can sample and have a mic you can do it. This new MPC just makes it super easy.

Of course an excellent tutorial by a highly skilled MPC master. Thanks as always. One point from my experience after 9 months using the MPC One. Awhile back I mentioned that I was experimenting with recording my music in Standalone. This worked wonderfully with music. But not as much with vocal. Don't get me wrong its decent (as this tutorial shows) but lately I moved to a Hybrid approach (PC MPC Software and MPC One Controller together). Because the two stay in sync at all times, I can just jump back and forth based on my style or mood. It works perfectly. And adding free VST Plugins for vocal effects blows away the MPC One built in effects. For me the true power of the MPC is the Hybrid approach (these days anyway) .
🙏 thank You I appreciate the good words and insight into your process. I may one day move back towards a hybrid set up, but for now I just want to improve my skills with the tools at hand. I think there are enough fx and features here to get a good grasp of concepts and techniques. Don't need anything super fancy til I master this stuff. I want to improve my playing/performance skills and vocal delivery. I'm thinking maybe a higher end mic eventually. Can I ask specifically what you think is missing in standalone as far as recording vocals goes?
@@LiftedNoise Totally get your point. Keep in mind I am no pro. Just my hobby. I started with the same intent. Whats missing for me turned out to be: 1. The sheer size of the screen. Having a 27 inch monitor let's me see larger portions of the vocal wave. I can then quickly edit. I don’t need this size for musical notes and samples but prefer it for vocals. 2. VST effects. Many are free and the UI is just modern and sleek. Much easier workflow to get the sound effect. I can apply and tweak effects quicker moving back and forth between the MPC Software and MPC One in Controller mode (in real time). I really wish the MPC had better effect presets (do more of the work for me like the way Akai has tons of ready to use drum kits. Give me common one click effect chains preset to sound like certain artists etc). If you are looking for a new mic. Maybe check out the new Aston Element $200.

Really appreciate the video. So if I am understanding correctly, you can put all your beats and sequence of the beats on one track and then use the other 7 track for recording audio over. When I was using Native Instruments Machine I had to record vocals like a sample and then sample them into the song using the pads. The MPC One seems to let you treat vocals as its own track exactly like you down in your DAW. And, even though you don't do it in this video you could jump around in the sound and record parts where ever you like. Thanks.
Yes exactly possible. But also you can arrange your beat and make that into a larger sequence with song mode and you'll still have 8 audio tracks available.

Thanks brother! I'm not sure what the question is? You recorded a vocal on your phone? I would transfer it to your SD card I suppose and load it into an audio track.
Because I can't find a Multitrack Recorder that has MIDI anymore...Would you say that I can record a full Song of guitar / vocal / drums/ bass guitar/ keys with this or is that asking too much from it ? Thank you for any reply.
Never tried it but in theory yes. You mentioned 5 different tracks and you get up to 8 in standalone. But you couldn't record those simultaneously to individual tracks. That is not possible currently. I'm hoping in a future update they make usb audio interfaces recognizable. Akai's most obvious competitor already has this implemented.
Peace. I think you are the only one who covers how to record vocals on the MPC, everyone else just primarily uses it for jamming beats. My question is. Does it have the capacity to record more than 2 vocal tracks. I’ve tried and was successful with 2 tracks for a chorus, but i can’t seem to get 3 rd for the main vocals. Am i missing or over looking something?

You are welcome 🙏 thank You for watching!
Great tutorial bro! I definitely planned on a mixtape next year God willing, and this is right on time man!!!! Got over my Maschine G.A.S. but I am getting a 303, so I guess you can say the G.A.S. still got me lol! Everything gift God poured into you bro, let it out and shine!🙏🏾✊🏾
God willing that's dope! 🙏 I hope you do. I won't be over my Maschine Gas Until after it arrives. Also been looking at mics and preamp lately 🤦♂️ but we'll get through. Thank You for the good words. God bless. YHWH.
@@LiftedNoise most definitely bro! I just got finished making a beat to take away my frustration watching my Eagles play today lol!
Yo dope upload!! Dope channel!
🙏 thank You. I appreciate this ✌
These videos about recording vocals on mpc are helpful. What would u do with a accapella mp3 from a phone recording???????????
Thanks brother! I'm not sure what the question is? You recorded a vocal on your phone? I would transfer it to your SD card I suppose and load it into an audio track.
Hey man great video, thanks. But did you use a interface in this video? Or just the regular mic and that Adapter you used? Thanks if you see this!
I'm using a Condenser Microphone with an audio interface with Phantom power.
Am i missing or over looking something?
bro love video and the track appreciate it
🙏 thank You bro
