I’m mainly on you tube for club and equipment reviews because I’m an equipment junkie. I try to avoid swing tip content because I want to limit to simplify and keep consistent what I work on. That being said, Danny Maude is one of 2 channels I subscribe to that provide swing tips. Your take on that tip is spot on while being said slightly said different, and your presentation helped me pick up up on something that I missed on Danny’s original. Please keep up this type of content, I think you do a masterful job with it.
Massively refreshing direction Andy lad! To do an average golfers interpretation and test on scratch + golfers tips and techniques!! I see some great vids showing me stuff I need to concentrate on, however sometimes it's like a professor telling the class duffer purely because I don't have their skillset or experience! I've loved this new set of vids, and I'm not being an arse kiss by saying they have all been constructive and definitely going to be added to things to help my game! Great stuff!
Thanks for this Andy. I've watched the videos others have done, but watching somebody with a relatable swing and speed has made this make more sense to me. thanks again!
Thanks a lot @avggolfer for starting this channel. Loves the simple interpretations of the tips. Using this tip I was hitting 230 plus yards drives today and they were all fair way finders except for one. Wont say they were all straights, but little faders also found fairways. Looking forwards to many more vids like this. Am a 24 hcp, and target is to go down to 15 by next season end. Heavyly depending upon ur advises and i terpretations. Thanks
Thanks for the interesting ideas. I like your video's on swing because you've got such an effective swing with swing speeds that aren't that much faster than my own. I'm a 70 year old codger that's been trying to come back to golf . . . and slowly getting a little better. My biggest problem seems to be turning through the swing. My best mental trick that has helped me lately is setting up as though the ball was about 4 inches behind the ball. Helps me hit it on the upswing more and for some reason makes me think I can push it on target better. Nailed it at the range today! Thanks again for all the great videos.
Fascinating. Have looked at various data points when practicing in a bay with launch monitor, but never at spin launch. Will have to check that next time and work on getting it to 15 or less. Thank you
Great stuff Andy! I have access to a LM @ our club and need to get in there during these colder/wetter days to see what delivery parameters I rave and how they can be tweaked for improvement.
I go to a couple of driving ranges near me and with a few very rare exceptions rarely see anyone hit the ball over 200 yards; might that just be the range balls? The only guys I know that hit over 200 yards when playing are either in their 20s or early 30s and fit, or well over was 6 foot tall.
I know you try to simply data, but you need to show spin, shot height, Aoa (maybe dynamic loft, which spin loft is dynamic loft - Aoa). Another easy thing to look at is instead of only spin loft, check if your spin loft is close to the launch angle, if it is, usually you don't have delivery problems other than strike location.
Maybe understand the concept of the video, this is the data that Danny Maude concentrates on within the video that I am interpreting, I am not here to question the data that Danny concentrates on, so I am not sure what qualifies you to suggest otherwise?
Love the channel and all your videos. Now, please, actually take this aggressiveness to the course. Don't forget about it when you play, going back to your default irons, fairway woods, and fairway finding semi drivers off the tee. I'd love to see what you could do playing aggressive golf instead of always defaulting to cautious play.
I like the theory but very comfortable as to when and when not to be aggressive on a golf course, you see me play on camera when my aim is to keep a ball in play and create content, that doesn’t work when your OOB. My maychplay record is solid and don’t lose many (not lost many on this channel tbf) so for me course management is paramount for good scores and that doesn’t mean being aggressive in every shot. I actually don’t interpret this swing tip as being aggressive either, my clubhead speed is down 10 mph on my normal driver swing, this for me is about clubface control 👍
Andy, are you doing anything with your hands or wrists to square the face? Twisting the handle? Or just trying to throw everything through the imaginary gate?
@ squaring the face has always been the elusive piece for me. I’ve tried twisting the handle, rolling the forearm, flexing the wrist, keeping everything loose - but it’s still difficult to feel and execute in my experience.
Andy you added 14 mph to your clubhead speed which itself is approximately 3 yards per mph which is 42 yards - am sure spin loft is important but you haven’t really demonstrated that as your clubhead speed needed to stay consistent as the only variable should have been spin loft

That’s nice to read, I also agree YT tuition/tips can be a rabbit hole so we try and sift through and find the good stuff

Good timing Andy. This is exactly the issue I'm having right now.
Good luck with this
Thanks Andy, great to pass on tips. These I will find very useful.

Me neither until I saw Danny’s video

Dear Average Golfer
A very interesting video and very informative.Well done
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice. I try to throw or lead my hands outward before impact for a slight draw. It mostly eliminates a slice or hard fade unless it hits off the toe.
Nice 👌
Great video once again 👏

I moved the ball a bit back in the stance and get a slight draw
Nice

81 mph to 93 mph. That's a massive increase. 93mph club head speed is quite a bit faster than average.
Andy, are you doing anything with your hands or wrists to square the face? Twisting the handle? Or just trying to throw everything through the imaginary gate?
I think there is an effort to kill the hands through impact if that makes sense, trying to keep clubface square
@ squaring the face has always been the elusive piece for me. I’ve tried twisting the handle, rolling the forearm, flexing the wrist, keeping everything loose - but it’s still difficult to feel and execute in my experience.
@ give this a try 👍
Other than the lead hip and club shaft slightly forward, there is nothing groundbreaking there - it’s golf driver swing technique 101
Nothing is groundbreaking and no one suggested it was?
Andy you added 14 mph to your clubhead speed which itself is approximately 3 yards per mph which is 42 yards - am sure spin loft is important but you haven’t really demonstrated that as your clubhead speed needed to stay consistent as the only variable should have been spin loft
👍👍
But you are consistently raising the club head speed with each swing. Spin loft cannot be looked at on its own.
Spin loft remains a constant throughout the swing speeds?
A video about someone else’s video. Sort of like an average cover band?
Nope. You're wrong. Stick with testing clubs
Why or are you just trolling?
I see ur 'I won't sell myself to youtube' attitude didn't last long.....
Tis the season to be jolly Stuart, shut the door on the way out bud 👍
