  • Former New England Patriots player Malcolm Butler on Thursday pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of reckless driving to resolve a DUI case, his lawyer said.
Butler appeared for a short hearing in Kent County District Court.
His license was suspended for 40 days from March 29, when the Traffic Tribunal first ordered the suspension, and the case was filed for one year.
Butler was charged with DUI after North Providence police found him in a car stopped in the middle of Mineral Spring Avenue on March 16. He pleaded not guilty.
