I got this issue today with my S22 Ultra and managed to solve with your tip, but utterly disappointed with Samsung R&D teams work. I see a lot of folks around me use this devise spending lot of money expecting they could use the devise hassle free for at least 4-5 years, but ended up having issues with display just near couple years though after having very minimal usage of the phone.
Whichever phone you use today they're are primarily the same. It depends which brand serve better after sales service. Thus its pointless spending to buy an expensive phone. So long it last 2 years through the subscription, thereafter trade off get a reasonable price unit for another 2 years. The business trick in the world today are all bull shit. The biggest bull shitter will win. There's no need to be an ardent fan to any brand. The bigger brand will still be the choice brand because they have more parts for replacement when required. The attitude is try not to pay too much for a phone, similarly to any device that comes with built in rechargeable battery. They become "time bomb" when the effective life of the battery is up your device is at its mercy.

But if it's a software problem why should we take pay the price... it's samsungs fault... they should have done quality check before the update release....

Even though I can't completely solve the problem, at least I can get rid of a very, very annoying problem. And my problem is, I work in Cuba where there is no Samsung Center to solve existing problems. Next I will not buy a Samsung again. Expensive cellphone but problematic.
i experienced this issue last night suddenly. and mine was already in standard mode. and in my case also this was not an instantly rose issue after the update. Samsung really has to take responsibility for this issue since this happens without physical damage to the phone.
Approximately 2 months after warranty, this issue happened with my phone. No fall on anything just came on one day. Stopped for about a week and came back. So annoying. This video was very helpful.

I'm very thankful that I came across your video. Today (9 July 2023), I just had this same exact screen-bleed issue on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. My last update was on 21 June 2023 and my warranty just ended in February 2023. I took your advice and changed the setting of the Motion Smoothness to "Standard" and it really helps. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN. If it is really an issue surfaces after a software update, I sincerely hope Samsung will come up with a patch in their next software update to tackle this issue. Or I'm sorry if I have to say that maybe it is Samsung's dishonest ways of trying to profit more money from us, if we do bring our phone down for a change of screen.
Dont wait for a patch! Ive got mine fixed up for free. Its really costly if one had to pay for it! According to the staff, it happens to other models too. Somehow upon interaction with the staff I gather Samsung does acknowledge this display fault, its just that Samsung did not outright broadcast this known fault online. I strongly advise you hastily go to the service centre and try your best to get it fix for free.
I had the same issue. I approached the samsung service centre. After checking the phone, they agreed this may be due to software update; But refused to replace the display free of cost, as they claim, some dents in the corner of the phone. So, Samsung trying to escape showing some non existent dent on phone. Shame on Samsung. Never going to buy their product again.
Bought a mobile with hard earned money, used it comfortably for 1 year without any problem, now that the warranty of this phone has been completed for 6 months and this evening on my phone there is only one thing, a white colored line next to the camera in the front display. I also face the exact same problem, My phone is in warranty till next month. Samsung denied screen replacement. How should I escalate further as my phone is under warranty and this seems to be a manufacturing defect.
I somehow fixed the same problem with my s22 ultra but i'm not sure if it works for everyone. Earlier today, I replaced the charging board for my phone because it has very weak network signal reception. While doing the repair, i pushed down the socket for the LCD cable to secure it. Just trying out something that might fix the LCD. I'm so excited that both the network ang LCD issues were fixed! It has been an entire day and the LCD is back to normal even while using the adaptive motion smoothness. Try this out guys. Btw, i'm not a technician. I just followed some youtube vids. You can ask a technician to do it for you. Hope this works for others too.

Same issue here, but changing the refresh rate to 60hz resolved the issue temporarily. I personally went to Samsung service centre. I was told the permanent solution would be to replace the screen. I'm very sceptical about this proferred solution because the problem was caused by a software update. How is one sure that after the screen replacement that the problem will not reoccur ?. I think Samsung should do the screen replacement free since its software update caused the glitch

I have just started to experience this issue, somewhere early April 2024 on my S22 Ultra. Besides changing the rate to 60 Hertz, you can still maintain the Hertz at 120 (Adaptive), but use "Power Saving". However, most of my Yellow Colour on Apps has turned Greenish since this happened. Why, Samsung? Why??

@@ashishpatil5057 Nope. I went to Samsung few days after that and was told that the parts for my phone would come in 2 weeks, and they did not have spare phones to loan me at the moment. But because I am contracted to a telco, I was able to exchange for a newer phone, since S22 was no longer in production (i.e. S23 was already out by that time, just before the launch of S24). If you have to exchange or get a new phone, my advice is this: Make you back up all your files, including your WhatsApp.

I had this same problem with my S22 Ultra over a month ago and thankfully I found your video then when I did a search for possible solutions on UA-cam. Warranty expired in June 2023. So I followed and did what you had suggested and so far my phone is still working. But it's true that the bright line flashes quickly after turning off the display. I hope the problem does not worsen or reappear.

I cannot believe Samsung is still rolling out that broken update till now. Samsung is very much aware of this. Samsung employed a bunch of incompetent staff rolling updates without first putting it on periodic test. They are using consumers as test subjects. Thesedays these tech giants are playing the same cheap trick leverage on users to test run their lousy broken updates. Just like Microsoft Win 11. MS still forcing users to switch over when that shitty Win 11 is totally unreliable for use.

I got this problem today, In my case near the bright box, half of the screen from the right is turned green/white.. I'm about to buy the S23 Ultra (I new there's a new model in the horizon, but I can't wait for it..). I hope I won't get the same problem again is it's from an update.
Remove the S pen and wrote on the screen with yellow colour and after this check your mobile , i was facing the same issue but after doing this it gone and my phone fixed..

Mine... bought around 18months back. 4 days ago the very bright white light on the lcd screen came on and wont go away, even with hard resets. Brought the set to samsung service centre, and they told me, a new lcd screen will be needed.... never drop, never let the set submerged in water etc.... so rather dissapointed... Got it replaced... and it works fine for now, but then it still got me the worry ... how long would this screen last me...
@@bavekoof i did have a tempered protective glass screen installed on the faulty lcd screen... In fact all of my previous samsung hp were installed with tempered screen. Any specific reason why you are asking about the tempered screen...
@@Cys62 specifically in samsung s22 ultra because of the curved display.. the tempered glass that uses glue runs down to the inside component of screen that cause screen damage...i am not 100% sure that the white light is caused by this but ya glue and tempered does damage this phone because of the curves it doesn't happen quick but slowly or one sudden day..also everyone just denies for putting screen protector on this phone ..in every store i asked they said it's risky

By enabling power saving mode, you are automatically disabling motion smootness 120hz.
Is your phone still have this greenish color? Or you already bring your phone to service center?

I cannot believe Samsung is still rolling out that broken update till now. Samsung is very much aware of this. Samsung employed a bunch of incompetent staff rolling updates without first putting it on periodic test. They are using consumers as test subjects. Thesedays these tech giants are playing the same cheap trick leverage on users to test run their lousy broken updates. Just like Microsoft Win 11. MS still forcing users to switch over when that shitty Win 11 is totally unreliable for use.
Any updates on this issue?
This is not a backlight bleeding problem, as OLEDs are self-illuminating pixels and OLED phones do not have a backlight!

Happened today without software update ( i updated after the problem appeared but that did not help) in the middle of a video conference. Thank you very much. Phone is 18 month old. This is my last Samsung. My S20+ and my formed S10+ had also display failures (green stripes). Now i have to live with 60 Hz.The problem is known for over 1 year now and not fixed. I have Android 14 and One UI 6.1 meanwhile.
This problem does not happen immediately after the update. It took a while before it runs in.
I also got such problem but when I turn on the phone a green line is shown for 5-10 seconds.What can I do?

In my case near the bright box, half of the screen from the right is turned green/white..
I'm about to buy the S23 Ultra (I new there's a new model in the horizon, but I can't wait for it..).
I hope I won't get the same problem again is it's from an update.

I tried this but when I turned it off to charge, you can see the backlight bleed. Unfortunately, my warranty ended in June.
Remove the S pen and wrote on the screen with yellow colour and after this check your mobile , i was facing the same issue but after doing this it gone and my phone fixed..

Mine too it just happened last week I went to samsung services center and with out listening to me they said you drop your phone have to replace with a new screen or take this phone number call the company you might get a one time screen replacement trying to call but no one answer till now my phone is only 16 month old

Mine... bought around 18months back. 4 days ago the very bright white light on the lcd screen came on and wont go away, even with hard resets. Brought the set to samsung service centre, and they told me, a new lcd screen will be needed.... never drop, never let the set submerged in water etc.... so rather dissapointed...
Got it replaced... and it works fine for now, but then it still got me the worry ... how long would this screen last me...
have you put the tempered glass on your s22 ultra ?
@@bavekoof i did have a tempered protective glass screen installed on the faulty lcd screen...
In fact all of my previous samsung hp were installed with tempered screen.
Any specific reason why you are asking about the tempered screen...
@@Cys62 specifically in samsung s22 ultra because of the curved display.. the tempered glass that uses glue runs down to the inside component of screen that cause screen damage...i am not 100% sure that the white light is caused by this but ya glue and tempered does damage this phone because of the curves it doesn't happen quick but slowly or one sudden day..also everyone just denies for putting screen protector on this phone ..in every store i asked they said it's risky

Same issue happened to me a month ago after the warantty period. Initially same light appeared and subsequently full display which I had to replace the display by paying 24K INR.

Go get it resolve by Samsung. I've got mine display replaced by Samsung for FREE even though it was passed the warranty period. Its a recognise issue by Samsung. Try to speak to them and get it done instead of waiting for miracles to happen.
