Had he heeded Panchamda's advice, the sad version would have attained amazing heights. Rahul Dev Burman belonged to Tripura Royal family. They lost their royal possessions due to their love for music and biases from that time British Vice Roy. Money was not a problem for Puncham it was his low period and his movies were not clicking but that doesn't mean RD was an inferior artist. He was incomparable talent even in those phase his music in Parinda Ijazat Masoom Libash Jawani Gardish more than proves that. It's wonderful that Vinod trusted Rahul in his bad phase but that doesn't mean he has done any favour to him, Rahul in his illustrious career does not need 1942 a love story to prove his greatness but Vinod is nothing without it mind it.
