When Paul was using Hill Descent Control, he said on a number of occasions that he applied the brake pedal; as the foot brake operates on all 4 wheels, it overrides Hill Descent Control which uses the ETC (Electronic Traction Control) sensors to sense a gain in speed, and then randomly applies individual brakes to control, or 'manage' the descent speed of the vehicle! Given that Ford acquired this technology during their ownership of Land Rover, it may be that the driver can adjust the descent speed by using the +/- buttons on the Cruise Controls, if Cruise Control is fitted to the Ranger!

That’s right. Ranger won’t sell good in US cause there’s alot of competition out here like the Tacoma and Colorado. In other country like Asia, ranger is the number one pick up truck out there.
Paul why don't you get a reusable drink bottle, the plastic from these videos alone would create a huge amount of waste. It would also be more interesting to see how a car can handle a slightly larger drink bottle instead of a tiny 600ml that fits in every single cup holder you've ever tried.
The fact that it’s direct injection, will make it very unreliable within several years due to all the carbon build up that will cause misfires, unnecessary vibration , heat, gasket issues due to heat from the turbo. My friend who has a Ford Fusion has this same issues I mentioned, due to the fact that it’s DI only. One would think that Ford engineering should’ve done both PFI/DI to solve almost 90% of the issue, but NO! This is sad. Tacoma might be under powered with old V6 and 6 speed transmission but for the most part it’s trouble free for many years to come.

Great review Paul. Very close to ordering this simply because I agree with your comment re leading the pack in terms of ride quality... I was interested to hear your comparison to the 3.2?
I have the XLT in 3.2 manual. Dont regret it.
@@ErnosMowJo Cheers - i drove the 2L the other day and thought i might regret it... I do a lot of kms, country driving. Surprised me to be honest!
@@RD11RT I own one of each (3.2 and a Raptor) and the 2L is streets ahead of the 3.2 to live with
@@billyp4850 good to know thanks Billy. What’s the fuel usage like between the two?
@@RD11RT Raptor is still fairly new, but seems to be around 1 litre per hundred less than the XLT (it's pre DPF, apparently that made them worse too)
Is it true that Ford transmission are poor?
With the U.S had the diesel option for us.
Can you do a review of the F250 there in australia?
I'll still take a mighty Triton!!
a hard pass from me, if theres one thing i've seen from driving and buy/selling utes is that people get rid of rangers within a couple of years of owning them
Great review this is one of my favourite utes
Great review. Thank you.
Does ford have awd mode
Hate to be 'that guy' but this is the MY20.75 Ranger XLT..... The MY21.25 has a different grille. Solid review though :)
Correct, I was in at my local Ford dealer this morning. I have the 21.25 spec sheet, Interesting to note . 1 Front side door acoustic glass, no longer available, Saleman states 3rd sourcing issues. 2 instrument cluster is only 1 x 4.2”
Another cracking review
I love the way the new one will look, but I heard we aren’t getting it in the US because we are getting a pickup version of the Bronco.
That’s right. Ranger won’t sell good in US cause there’s alot of competition out here like the Tacoma and Colorado. In other country like Asia, ranger is the number one pick up truck out there.
@@adventurek2066 Ranger currently sells really well here in the US. It usually makes it in the top 3. Last year it was the second best seller here.
I’m torn between the D-Max and the Wildtrak.
best off-roader
Gone are the days of bulletproof Diesel engines. 2 turbos working hard to get a 2lt donk to just enough power. And it still has lag?
Can’t wait for the new falcon ute 😝
🤞
So it's a part time 4x4?
Yes
@@its_bampie_ but the Everest is Full time?
Great review !
Mr Paul can u review a ssongyong rexton 2020 pls
i don't get how they are so popular, I've driven a few of them and they were not great, i prefer my 2007 ranger at least compared to the 3.2
This is 2020
It’s a 2021 model, made in 2020
For 21 spec
Paul why don't you get a reusable drink bottle, the plastic from these videos alone would create a huge amount of waste. It would also be more interesting to see how a car can handle a slightly larger drink bottle instead of a tiny 600ml that fits in every single cup holder you've ever tried.
number plate is bagel :P
A better wheel design would've been stellar
The best for ford cars is safety
The fact that it’s direct injection, will make it very unreliable within several years due to all the carbon build up that will cause misfires, unnecessary vibration , heat, gasket issues due to heat from the turbo. My friend who has a Ford Fusion has this same issues I mentioned, due to the fact that it’s DI only.
One would think that Ford engineering should’ve done both PFI/DI to solve almost 90% of the issue, but NO! This is sad. Tacoma might be under powered with old V6 and 6 speed transmission but for the most part it’s trouble free for many years to come.
Big Mac of dual cabs is infactually a 79 series.
no. the 79 is a junior burger, nothing on the inside.
@@oldbloke100 f250 tremor edition would be my pick if money was no object :)
do a colorado LTZ pls
It’s done.
Not a bad review but feels a bit like a paid ad, there’s no real analysis
The seats in the XLT aren't as plush as the Wildtrak.
That's because the wild track is the model up, duh 🤦
@@williambuschmann6152 duhhh
SsangYong Musso next then ?
The interior hasn't really evolved from the BA or Territory
Can you do the new hilux
