Didn’t even watch the video yet but I want you to know that I immediately clicked just from seeing Lamp in the thumbnail lmao. I bet this video’s going to be great btw!!!
Edit: Video was amazing! I dislike those paperbacks to a certain extent as well. While I do like jewel-cases, I think that Digipaks (like the HANL packaging) are the best. Something like Lamp’s “For Lovers” CD is good for a single disc, but for 2-disc records, I think that those Digipaks are the best package-wise. Again, amazing video! I’ve been collecting CDs as well for 3 years now and they’re (for me at least) the best way to listen to full-length releases. Best places to get them are thrift stores, libraries, any where you can find them used as they can go for really cheap!
Same
refreshing to see someone else share my hatred of the paper sleeve 🙏
also I think the blue thing on mpp is just yours. mine doesn't have anything there
for me the full experience of buying and unboxing a CD just can never compete with the full experience of buying and unboxing a vinyl record. especially when the record can come with things like posters, gatefolds, different colored discs, etc. CD's are much better value of course but my personal preference will always be vinyl
Never say never

this is an insanely good collection dude, slow riot is such a great ep
Since you asked, I think CDs are better than streaming because, you get to hear more details on the music itself but also you dont really have the temptations of your mobile device to distract you from the music. At least that's something that happens to me
As a cd collector this is cool to see
ive been collecting CDs for only about a month, i’ve got 8 now and there’s so much i wanna buy.
im pretty sure most people dont fuck with the paper casing, the shiny jewel cases are just so much more appealing to look at.
What are your holy grails you’d love to find
@@arzabael
carissa’s wierd - songs about leaving (id do anything for this)
purl - winter
bluetile lounge - half cut (i found one for $100 on discogs but im currently too broke)
paysage d’hiver - paysage d’hiver (the original cassette)
@@silentxwxlf nice
@@silentxwxlf good you know what you want those sound awesome
Very cool collection! You should check out Kagayaki by Masakatsu Takagi. Really beautiful album, he collaborated with people living in this rural village in Japan and you can feel their sense of community sort of bleed through the field recordings and excerpts
I never had any physical media until like two weeks ago when I got like 78 CD's in Japan hell yea
You should review a punk record
great video again, mr. normal
is the best songs of all time part 3 still coming out soon or is that era over
There will be more best song vids, but the time between when they come out will probably be longer from now on
I like your videos because your a music nerd like me and I only know like two people irl that are as big into music as me.
also a huge CD collector, I also collect vinyl as well but I definitely have more CDs for the car. The jewel case vs digipak (the cardboard with plastic ones) vs cardboard sleeve argument is such a heated debate with some. most choose jewel cases though. also if you want to add to your GY!BE collection F#A# Infinity is the only Godspeed release in a jewel case, it's also got some really cool artwork as well.
Just recently started buying CDs cause I genuinely still do not have a working CD player but I might get one soon. I recently found The Low End Theory and Enter the Wu-Tang at my local thrift store for 2 dollars each and got those. I have a CD player but the CD playing function doesn’t work and it ate my Fiona Apple When The Pawn.. CD. Like I put it in and it won’t play and it won’t eject at all. So I’m just gonna have to pry it open ig.
God tier music taste i’ve already used you reviews to find super cool new music
anyway i read hebrew and on the godspeed CD inside the english is just the translation of the hebrew, it’s a cool little Tanach paragraph
Another fun fact, the word they chose, “Tohu Vavohu” is actually a really pretty word
I would generally translate it as “complete chaos” but it’s kind of cooler in a way i can’t explain
it’s the same word used to describe the state of the world before god started creating it in genesis, so like that type of chaos if that makes any sense
anyway love the channel and i followed you on instagram!
I love CDs. Kind of expensive tho tbh
As a fellow cd connoisseur, the paper casing can suck my balls, they're the worst
Elliot Smith has so many amazing songs but something about King’s Crossing just hits different.
Happy to see the fishmans love
C Deez... never mind
Where’s Grouper?
