RIP DEAR BARBARA YOU WERE MY CHILDHOOD GROWING UP IN THE 1960S AND 1970S LOVE YOU SO MUCH IN THE CARRY ON FILMS YOU WERE SUCH A NICE PERSON TO EVERYONE
I was born in 1985. My father Francois introduced me to those movies when I was like 10. Loved Barbara Windsor in Carry On Camping. I will tell my kids about her work and films. Great movies. Great actress. Gone too soon.
Barbara makes an excellent point here: she really did shine in The Boyfriend. I am a collector and managed to import the DVD recently. Its a good movie and Barbara excels. Top quality actor, singer and dancer
She played blonde bimbo in the carry on movies but, she is so funny, intelligent, talented. 2 others characters in those movies who were excellents, are Hatti Jacque and Kenneth Williams: the chemistry between them was hilarious, especially when she tries to seduce him and he is clearly not interested.
I would definitely recommend them...perhaps start with Carry on Up The Khyber, Carry on Doctor and Carry on Camping and see how you get on with those :-)
Oh GAWD! - One or two Carry Ons still stand-up as classic comedies - period comedies like 'Carry on Cleo', 'Dont Lose Your Head' and some of the very early black and white films - the rest, well, the jokes aren't even funny enough for the back of a door in a public toilet. - What makes them tolerable is the great cast, Barbara Windsor, Sid James, Hattie Jacques etc
Yes, the inclusion of Sid James and Kenneth Williams would be far more pivotal to a movies success than Babs which (I'm sure she knew full well and) why she moved the conversation on and didn't allow the interviewer the chance to get hung up on it, it's merely demand and nothing to do with the value of any particular gender, if I (a man) were cast in a movie alongside a 'peak of her prime' Marilyn Munroe I'm sure her earnings would dwarf mine and rightly so
Incredible! The women should have been paid the same as the men. Winter in the UK. Brrrrrr! It is strange that violence not so bad but boobs to be avoided at all costs.

She looks so healthy here
£5000/£2500 from 1959 in 2020 would be around £118,000/£59,000. From 1974, in 2020 it would be around £61,000/£30,500.
Far higher than the average wage. Actors don't half moan about their supposed poor money.
Never knew about these Carry on movies! Is it something people recommend?

@@GeorgeHilton1111 I might do that! Depending on how accessible they are in Sweden!
Thank you for your reply!

So should one watch them for the stars? Or should one watch the stars in other stuff?
I had no idea they paid the actress' less

What a rude, overbearing host.
She lived off the proceeds of crime for decades.Barbara always defended the Krays, which says a lot about her character.
Really? Do tell. Very interested to hear.
@@donbrogan3158 ex husband crook Ronnie Knight bank rolled her for years. As well as being passed around by 2 of 3 Kray brothers.
