LIFE HAPPENS you learn and move on John may have done some stupid things but I think we all have and Ed is just awesome and cares about friends unconditionally and they have both done pretty well for themselves and John seems to give back also.
I learned about oil starvation on a higher compression 2az-fe as my first car. I as a somewhat inclined person went "yeah may as well check the fuilds even though ive only had the car for 2 weeks" it was more than a quart low, at 105k miles. Before that car was in an accident(not me), i was putting 1 quart in every 250 miles max before that car was in an accident; it lasted till 215k before said incident.
As someone who has been alive for a while, one of the lessons I can vouch for having learned is this. It is never going to be the case that you cause no one any hardships. It's impossible to interact with other humans and not make their lives, at times, worse. However, the thing that matters will not be that you did this thing that harmed them in some way but how you went about dealing with it. I'm guilty of trying to find a solution to a problem to offer the person when I cause them an issue. "Yes, I wrecked your car because a deer ran out in front of me but I've already filed it on insurance and will loan you my car till it's fixed." or whatever. Something to take the sting away as much as possible. That's great unless the person is already aware of the situation and had to hear it from a 3rd party. That sucks. Because now not only did you break something of theirs but hid from them. Which makes you look like you're not willing to take responsibility. Which will usually color any perception they have about the rest of the incident. TLDR: Just be honest and upfront. I broke your shit, I don't feel I was wholly responsible for it but I was in control of it at that moment which makes me mostly responsible for it. Tell me what we can do to make this right and it is within reason, we'll do that. It will turn out that you still hurt people but I promise it will be a much smaller wound than ignoring the problem and hoping it just disappears.

Damn now. I wanna blow up 1 of eds cars
“I don’t remember how many drinks” 👀🫣😂
I learned about oil starvation on a higher compression 2az-fe as my first car. I as a somewhat inclined person went "yeah may as well check the fuilds even though ive only had the car for 2 weeks" it was more than a quart low, at 105k miles. Before that car was in an accident(not me), i was putting 1 quart in every 250 miles max before that car was in an accident; it lasted till 215k before said incident.
WOW
An actual amazing story!
Checking fluids is something I learned before I even got a license. This dude drove a Lamborghini for 6 months and never checked shit..
