Same! Or a nice van. And the basics. When i was younger the best year of my life i had a really good job. It paid okay not great. But cause i was ‘on the road’ working away from my home city they provided a car. Furnished apt. Per diem for meals. Once a week maid service. And flights home. I didn’t have to manage bills or anything. Just a simple once a week expense report for the $30/day per diem. And the company let us work 4 days week 10 hours. So 3 day weekend each weekend. The mailman left me a nasty note on my door about not getting my mail. I never checked my mailbox once for the entire year. It was heaven. And i got a paycheck on top. Best year ever.
@CC-pu6qn sometimes you gotta think outside the box. Im making over 6 figures while living in a tent which is on 8.5ac I bought with cash I saved. Maybe getting a skilled trade or something. Only you know what is possible.

That's likely not gonna be the case in another decade or so as most people will barely sustain their existence. The days of affording shelter and your own personal transportation are coming to an end. The middle class will be no more. This is gonna happen worldwide and the 1% couldn't be happier about it.
So is the massive levels of income tax, to be honest. I think we are all ok with some level of taxation to pay for what is needed, but the parasites want to keep taking more and more ...

Big believer in less is more, low stress, not working myself to death. I don't earn much, but I don't need much. Sometimes this crazy society of hustle, materialism, consumerism and various superficial practices will make me feel like an outcast. Buying a house was one of the biggest mistakes of my life, and lead to other mistakes on top of mistakes. Before that, I was a happy go lucky apartment dweller. I became a servant to those house payments and repairs.
in your experience, do you find it financial better to just rent where you live? what about when you retire? I'm afraid that rent prices will be too high for me to afford when I get on fixed income. At least a mortgage is somewhat locked in.
@ It depends on how much you’re making. If you live paycheck to paycheck, making that mortgage payment can feel like a life sentence, and there’s always going to be unexpected expenses like getting a new hot water heater, plumbing issues, furnace replacement, basically all the things you don’t need to worry about as a renter. If the house is designed that it would be comfortable having a roommate, that might be an option. Personally, I love living alone. I’d rather be more broke, but with privacy, it’s totally worth it. It’s a subject I would research a lot before making a major decision. Good luck 🍀👍
@@Mandrake591 One of my best days was when I wrote that final check that paid off my mortgage. Hiusing expenses pretty much gone.. That is now money in my pocket. I sleep very easy at night.
Once you pay off debt, your fico score practically goes to 0. You mean nothing to them if you have nothing they can take away or leverage against your well-being.
Credit scores are based on lies. The system gaslights and slander the masses into the slave debt to keep them working away all their vital resources until wrinkling them dry to the last drop of blood. Then discard them, and replace to the next target people/ population. The system is all a scam ponzy scheme, and pretends to base the trustworthyness of a person on a fake falsifiable number (school grades, scord cards, college GPA, credit scores, bank account balance, etc.) rather than the actual integrity of the person - say, their communion with God. Things decay and depreciate, the government collects property taxes on the stuff you claim you own, and the currency value of dollar depreciate over time through inflation, for the money you've already worked hard and saved, like water slipping through fingers. But the blood of Christ remains untampered and unadultered, his eternal mercy and grace covers us forever for everlasting blessing 😍
That's excellent, congrats! Hopefully you're in the US, because in Europe the 2030 no doubt will find a way of getting all petrol cars off the road. Companies are going bust because they are being forced to produce EV vehicles or face being fined. 'Leave no one behind'... 😣 I'm scared of the behaviour of where I live, freedoms are well.... I cannot even say much here. There used to be a name for living this way in fear.

I paid off my mortgage. No debt. Live in my campervan now and live on the rental income from the house. I'm 53, male and solo (UK). I highly recommend simplifying and living a minimalist lifestyle to anyone considering it. Freedom. Cheers!
Bro, just do the campervan in the summer in the UK. I recommend visiting Thailand, you'll find food and accommodation very affordable there, if you can get someone to manage the rental. You can walk on a beautiful sandy beach every morning, get all your food out affordably and even have a serviced apartment (cleanings).

I’m right there with you. When my car broke down after almost 10 years on the road last January, my first inclination was to go buy another one. Then I started to wonder, “Can I live without one?” Almost a year later, I can say “Yes. Yes, I can.” It’s wonderful to have nothing to park, nothing to get stolen or broken into, nothing to fuel, nothing to insure, nothing to wash, etc. Occasionally, I need to rent or borrow a car, and I’m fine with that. I’m overseas for several weeks now, and it’s sweet not having a car to think about at all. I appreciate your videos … Keep going please!
You got that right! Living in Europe, no car, public transportation is top notch inecpensive, punctual, no parking ecpenses, insurance... Everything within walking distance, great weathef and food. Thanks Southern Europe !!#
The shorter your life gets, the more obvious it is that the system sucks, it literally vacuums the best years of your life out of you then leaves you wondering what the point of it all is.
I live a simplistic lifestyle. I don't own much. I have no car. I have no house. God, I don't even have an apartment. I rent a basement studio in a private house owned by someone else. I bought nothing for myself on BLACK FRIDAY and nothing today on CYBER MONDAY.
Same no blk Friday.. not even on cyber Monday. But they always tell us how it did last yr. This is all hype for the oligarchs with fancy data machines to seek out more victims of consumerism 😢😢😢😢
The system forgets that it needs us to survive, it's no longer subtle, and people are noticing their slavery, 2hich was never abolished, they just swapped shackles for credit in a debt based system. Then the totalitarian tiptoe started proper. Crazy times.
When you view every purchase (outside of bills) as an actual exchange of your HARD work/energy/time/mental health...you start to see how little any "thing" is worth your money.
That hit me a few years back. $50 Yeti coffee mugs, $250 Oakley sunglasses, $50 Under Armour tshirts. I don't own any of these items, but I'll be damned if I'm going to! That mug only cost them a dollar to make....I'm tired of making other people rich!
Whenever I say to people or my family " you never really own anything you have." They lose their damn minds! Everything should have an Asterix on the product explaining all the other expenses that come with the purchase. This world would implode
@TimothyWard wouldn't that be nice ? Lol Until they hear " buying this car may result in...." Repossession Defaulting your loan Bankruptcy Monthly repair bills (read fine print) Gasoline Registrations Drivers license Plates Insurance Potholes....
I’ve spent a small fortune on various collections over the years. You are right. It starts to own me now. I wish I didn’t even bother collecting now. I would be more at peace.
Could not agree more. When I met my now wife she was shocked by how little I had in my 1 bedroom flat. I was a minimalist without even knowing it. Now we have two kids and the amount of stuff in our house stresses me. Stuff is stress and our regular clear outs I force upon the family are good days.
Freedom is the ultimate goal in life for me. I quit my job last week and don’t have a single regret. You go to work tearing your body down and away from your family majority of the day. I had been telling coworkers to have a plan but not many were listening. Several went out and made big purchases as if 30+ employees hadn’t been let go recently. I looked around and said its no future for me here. Something my dad always taught me was to have little to no debt. I own my own semi and I said it’s time to work for yourself again. Less stress and more traveling. I will be downsizing my house also. I can pay 1/4 of what I pay now and be happy.
the system works to hide the truth about the system from you. it has to do with "the god of this world", that is, this world system. spiritual freedom is found in Christ, but your body remains a "slave in Egypt" if u know whata mean. your results may vary based on your decisions, but the hold on everyone grows tighter with time.
It's never too late, and there is a massive machine at work to keep that veil in place, don't be angry, that's a waste of good energy, be free, be happy, be well. Good luck on your journey my friend 🙏😊
I was just talking about this to another nomad yesterday about how our possessions possess us and how people are trained to love things and use people instead of the opposite. This is brain washing and change starts small but once you start it's hard to go back.
I’ve been “Homeless” since May of 2023. I’ve gotten by sleeping in my car, staying in Motel 6, Red Roof Inn, or Comp Nights received by playing Video Poker at random Casinos. Most of my possessions are in Storage and go there whenever I need something. I love the feeling of moving abroad whenever and wherever.
As someone who is deep in the system, you speak the truth. Some of these things are necessary evils, but knowing is half the battle. Our capitalist/consumerist society has been normalized, but it’s up to us to break free.
I realized we are all slaves one day driving a semi down the road. I shared this thought with my friends and relatives and they thought I’d lost my mind. I realized that I had more than enough, and that what I own, I don’t really own. It was when I realized this that I started filing at the chains that bind me to the system.
It’s a crazy realization but one you have to go through to start getting free. But you definitely seem crazy talking about it to people who aren’t there yet 😂
Some people spend money when they feel unhappy. That's what commercials are designed to do. Make you believe that you're not enough unless you own this car this house or buy this makeup product. If we were happy we wouldn't be out there buying stuff we don't need
If you fall for that, you need to be working more. if youre so bored that you are sitting around paying attention to an ad that much...go do something. set a goal and work to reach it. it could be a credit card a car payment a small loan...go work and pay it off.
Yup! After my divorce, I downsized! I pay no debt with interest, I rent a modest apt, I can fit my entire existence in one 20ft box truck! My free time is spent enjoying life! So liberating!
Tim I’m 38 no husband or kids, no house or car either I actually feel a sense of relieve I do not have those responsibilities. It does feel very good to declutter 😊 having FREEDOM is my ultimate goal in life
getting rid of the clutter TOTALLY adds up. I just had a garage sale selling a bunch of crap that I dont want, and have tons of stuff on eBay and it amounted to a lot. more than I thought it would. it feels good to move it out of my life. and its helping pay down my debt. in fact, now the feeling is so good, im kicking it up a notch and selling more.
you dont really own anything. youre going to die some day.....the tax argument is retarded. renting is a joke. tiny apartments for a ton of money...just thrown away. when you own or have payed off your mortgage...its yours and the value will keep going up. tax is a lot less than rent. plus at least you are paying for your community...schools...roads...etc. and not giving the bank interest. my mortgage was payed off in 2021. my tax is only 25% of what my mort was. and about 1/8 of what an apartment around here is. its WAY better to own. if it gets really bad you can always sell and all of that money is yours
I paid less than $1500 for my car, in 2020. The old 83 Impala has given me nearly 30k miles of solid service, since then. The ability to seat 6 adults, WHILE carrying 3 families' worth of groceries, means that the car's value extends to more than just myself. The car rarely needs attention, the insurance is cheap, AND it delivers a solid 22 average MPG. Definitely a good purchase 🙂

Right with you brother, just working on the land part now 🙏 it warms my soul to see so many people walking away from this slavery paradigm. Less is definitely more!!
I wish you could see how this topic animated my husband! You verbalized his same thoughts from a slightly different angle. It was a hit in this household.
You are so right. My car is a 98 model. I own it outright. I shouldn't have to pay ANYTING, but I am forced to carry car insurance AND to pay taxes on it every year. We need a better transportation system, like Europe has. It's BS that everything is set up to drain money out of you.
Blessings brother. I'm already living frugally. I have no phone, getting ready to shut of the internet, that has become the devil's playground. The reality of it is, you live better with much less, you don't have to worry bout at&t and consumer cellular ripping people off. Thank God, I closed out credit cards over 10 years ago. Blessings.
Got into something called "Death Cleaning", I think it's Swedish. In a nutshell, it's taking care of your personal affairs and minimizing your possessions in preparation of not unnecessarily burdening loved ones when you die. And instead of valuing possessions, value experiences instead (hobbies, time with friends and family, nature, ...). For me, it's also a means to an end in preparation for early retirement.
This is so true man. I just closed my remaining bank accounts today and cancelled my credit card. Currently don’t have either. It felt like a burden off my shoulders!!!!
I was completely debt-free including the house at the age of 35. Then 9 years later divorced.. at the age of 50 I bought another home and I'm using OPM to pay my mortgage. I Lose my privacy but I gain financial freedom.
I 1,000% agree with this Tim. It’s a hard journey to go through, but once you get to this point in realizing that the trappings of success are a distraction and a system put in place to make us thing a certain way, you then have the freedom to decide to not entertain it anymore. Living with less, downsizing, not caring about social measures of success with material items has been so rewarding. And I thank you for being a great part in why i live this way now!
The outside world will always be a distraction if you allow it. The answer isn't about escaping our environment & ditching technology. Too much of anything could be a potential problem. Just like all things we enjoy, moderation and will power is key.
When you have nice savings you arent willing to put up with any bs at work. Even things you really should be able to. So being able to leave is both a blessing and a curse in that way
Me and my husband are in our 40s, clean driving record but we pay almost $500 for car insurance. Just because we live in Las Vegas. It’s like a car payment that doesn’t go away.

Most of us will never benefit from paying for car insurance. And even if you do still have to pay a large deductible before it even kicks in...lol We will however more than likely be paying for other peoples carelessness. I've paid for car insurance for 20 years and have no at fault accidents and that scenario describes most of us and to you that's NOT BAD! lolololol
Hi, Do have have brand new vehicles? 2020 - 2024 If not, seems like you're being extra gauged and taking advantage of. We live in Texas where are rates higher than the national average, in our 40's, 2 vehicles where they take/steal from us a whopping $200 a month for 2 cars "full coverage". Both 2015 -2019 vehicles paid off that might be a factor.
Driving in Las Vegas is stressful lol. I was there for a month and I saw so many car accidents, way more than almost anywhere else I’ve visited. It’s crazy!
I sold a watch yesterday. I am selling and giving away what I don’t need. Tim, I am tired of seeing what I have and what I don’t need. What was I thinking when I was buying all these shit. I have eight watches. And I don’t wear a watch. It’s sad. You are correct.
This is unpopular opinion but what you described is one of the reasons why I refused to get married, have children, get mortgage etc. society frowns upon a man taking such a stance because it indirectly challenges the system that is set up. I see men slaving away stuck in situations they chose thinking it was the only way. Marriage is the bait to all of societys traps.
And I see women stuck in similar situations...slaving away at home, and at work and caring for the children, managing the finances, cooking all the meals, shuffling the kids off, while many of their husband's take a hands-off approach. Talk about slavery. I escaped my slavery...
You’re exactly on point. It took me half my life & a BK to figure out out. 6 houses & 11 cars. Now I’m debt free thinking about a new life abroad. Thx.
Thankfully, my house is paid off. Took us 15 years on a 30 yr note. Yes, i have criminal proptery taxes of $900 per year, but I'd rather "own" than rent. All my cars are paid off as well. Wife will retire at age 45 when our youngest leaves for college, and we will snowbird to Florida every winter and come back to Ohio to a paid off house. We are also gifting our kids our house, retirement funds, all assets, or proceeds in our Will when we pass away. You speak truth in this video. Alot of truth but most people won't listen. Most People are to consumeristic and materialistic. Get out and stay out of debt. Living simple and below your means while having multiple streams of income and choosing WISLEY where you live is the only way to get ahead.

This year has been so eye opening for me and discovering this side of youtube where people talk about things like disconnecting from the system/matrix has only strengthened my desire to keep living this non conventional life where i am the one in control, not other people, or material items. UA-camrs like you have made me realize that im not crazy and that its actually quite the contrary. I say this not out of judgement towards those trapped in the rat race, but that they stress themselves out to the point of burn out just to keep up appearances.
Thank you very insightful, I used to have a huge shopping problem and bought lots of beautiful clothes I didn't have anywhere to wear. This video reminded me I need to accept I wasted that money but sell or donate these things. But at least none of it was on credit cards, I don't have that problem
You are absolutely right. Ppl think they are a homeowner but they don't own it. The bank owns the home. As long as you are making payments you don't own it. Even if it's paid off you still don't own it bc of taxes and there are still rules of things u can and cannot do. If u want to add a garage or fence or replace your roof or whatever you still have to abide by certain rules. Their rules.
@@stevevernon5038 I think the premise is renters know they are renting. Where as people are referred to as owners when in reality your home can still be taken from you, it raises the question do you really own it? There's an elderly couple in Florida who have a condo and their building got reassessed. Long story short, they were required to pay $330k in a month's time span or lose their home. Situations like this aren't incredibly common but most people don't expect situations like that to happen when they own a home.
Thank you for voicing this truth! My husband and I sold an expensive car that we never should have bought (Palisade) for $29,600. We bought a Toyota Camry for $1,500 cash. We are paying off all our credit cards and using Velocity banking to pay off our mortgage. It should be paid in less than ten years. I’m 34 years old now, so I should be less than 44 by then! Then we can buy land that our three sons can inherit! We are doing this on a single income of 3-$4,000 a month. I stay home so that we don’t have to pay for another car and childcare. We homeschool 💕
This has been my exact thinking for many years. I'm a seasonal truck driver and I live out of my truck.. no apartments, landlords and leases, house mortgage, property tax none of it just saving money toward making my camper as comfortable as possible. For a long time I was very reluctant to even buy a vehicle not because I couldn't afford it, but just like you said I didn't want to have to deal with the system, registration, insurance, parking not to mention expensive gas to run it. But I realize that we have to be realistic.. really being homeless and living out on the street paradoxically is the freest a person can be.. but few people are crazy enough to want to be that free. So... for me the lesser of two evils is to own a camper something that I can drive and live in. I even stopped voting (for the presidential election) because I am trying to leave less footprints as I can within the system. Basically doing ONLY what's necessary to be legal... And be left the fuck alone lol. But I'll tell you what when you live a lifestyle like I've chosen to live the system hates it! And makes it hard as F. You have to jump through all types of hoops, improvising and finessing to exist off grid. So it's definitely set up to keep us within the confines of their box and remain in the system.
I've never heard someone actually say that, but I always thought, what is the difference between slavery & modern day poverty when you're stuck in a job you hate because you can't afford to quit.
Try to live as simply as possible. Not much is needed for a happier life. The systems are designed to trap you into massive debts as you have stated. Too many buy into consumerism thinking this brings happiness to them.
Timothy, i love your outlook! I was introduced to a minimalist lifestyle back in 2003 and i've been craving to go completely minimalist ever since! In February of 2021 my car was totaled and i decided not to replace it. I can't even imagine ever owning a car again because of everything that you mentioned. I bought an ebike recently to commute my son to and from school and all his after-school activities; it's actually very fun and stress relieving! I also love walking, so not owning a car has helped get me into the best shape of my life. AND we recently moved this summer and i can TOTALLY RELATE to what you said about Dollar, Dumpster or Donate! I will never unconsciously buy "stuff" again. (In fact, i am currently doing a spending fast this month and NOT buying anything that is not a necessity like food or bills) I saw $1000s in very useful stuff being thrown away because there was literally too much to give away in time to leave our place. Yes, this new slavery (undergirded by consumerism) is much more effective and the smartest live with less, and that's why they generate/attract more. Even consuming more food than necessary allows the medical system ownership of one's body. Great video; I really love the way you structured and framed your ideas!
From someone who knows: cash, no debt, lots of time. Most peeps literally can't handle real freedom. I can and spend my time shitting and grinning. (Btw- you are very articulate and an excellent communicator). Note: 5 vehicles, 101 acres, swimming pool...wasn't born into any of it. So stack cash. No Debt. Remember- it ain't your til you actually own it. Own You.
As time goes on, i realize i want to completely disconnect. No smart phone, no email address, no car, no bills.. There's freedom in nothing

Once you pay off debt, your fico score practically goes to 0. You mean nothing to them if you have nothing they can take away or leverage against your well-being.
TEACH!!!

I've had no debt for a decade and score still hover's around 800.

Could not agree more. When I met my now wife she was shocked by how little I had in my 1 bedroom flat. I was a minimalist without even knowing it. Now we have two kids and the amount of stuff in our house stresses me. Stuff is stress and our regular clear outs I force upon the family are good days.
God bless your family
Stuff stresses me soooooo bad
Freedom is the ultimate goal in life for me. I quit my job last week and don’t have a single regret. You go to work tearing your body down and away from your family majority of the day. I had been telling coworkers to have a plan but not many were listening. Several went out and made big purchases as if 30+ employees hadn’t been let go recently. I looked around and said its no future for me here. Something my dad always taught me was to have little to no debt. I own my own semi and I said it’s time to work for yourself again. Less stress and more traveling. I will be downsizing my house also. I can pay 1/4 of what I pay now and be happy.
Minimalism is the goal ❤
I'm glad I started getting rid of stuff doing yard sales and minimalizing. Now I control what I buy, realizing that I don't need stuff anymore.
The freedom is priceless!
Try not paying property taxes and see who really "owns" your home.
Property taxes = "land rent"

Facts
Why do people constantly say this? So it’s better to rent and then get evicted for not paying the rent? Property taxes are low compared to rent.
the system works to hide the truth about the system from you. it has to do with "the god of this world", that is, this world system. spiritual freedom is found in Christ, but your body remains a "slave in Egypt" if u know whata mean. your results may vary based on your decisions, but the hold on everyone grows tighter with time.

Absolutely. The more money you possess, the more of a slave to the system you are. The rich do not receive the pleasure of rest.
I was just talking about this to another nomad yesterday about how our possessions possess us and how people are trained to love things and use people instead of the opposite. This is brain washing and change starts small but once you start it's hard to go back.

That's true. The more you own, the more you are being manipulated.
I had this discussion with a friend the other day. If you think you own your home, miss a property tax.
you dont really own anything. youre going to die some day.....the tax argument is retarded. renting is a joke. tiny apartments for a ton of money...just thrown away. when you own or have payed off your mortgage...its yours and the value will keep going up. tax is a lot less than rent. plus at least you are paying for your community...schools...roads...etc. and not giving the bank interest. my mortgage was payed off in 2021. my tax is only 25% of what my mort was. and about 1/8 of what an apartment around here is. its WAY better to own. if it gets really bad you can always sell and all of that money is yours

I paid less than $1500 for my car, in 2020. The old 83 Impala has given me nearly 30k miles of solid service, since then.

I 1,000% agree with this Tim. It’s a hard journey to go through, but once you get to this point in realizing that the trappings of success are a distraction and a system put in place to make us thing a certain way, you then have the freedom to decide to not entertain it anymore.

Amen, Mr. Ward. I've been saying for years to get out of debt. Financial independence is true freedom.
@bettyb but if you rent you are forever paying on that and lining someone elses pockets so what's the difference/ what's the answer?
You don't own, you are responsible for temporarily.
I know exactly what you mean about having to jump through so many hoops when you live an alternative lifestyle. But it’s worth it! 👍🏾

Ain't that the truth, when I was first starting out we lived in an old trailer, drove a rickity old car and had the best time of our lives! Cheers bro
I never considered it that way, new slavery VS old slavery- wow
I've never heard someone actually say that, but I always thought, what is the difference between slavery & modern day poverty when you're stuck in a job you hate because you can't afford to quit.
The truth if I ever heard it, along with humor! 😂
This line in 'Bittersweet Symphony' says it all... 'You're a slave to money, then you die'.
"I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down".
Love that song!!!
I made a few people mad at the DMV today. I told them I was here to pay my rent on my vehicles. No smile on my face. I was not joking.
😂😂
Exactly. They never find it odd that the State is on the top of the title...
Try to live as simply as possible. Not much is needed for a happier life. The systems are designed to trap you into massive debts as you have stated. Too many buy into consumerism thinking this brings happiness to them.
True talk bro! Owning less means more freedom= happiness and bliss. I absolutely agree.
Thank you so much for sharing your story! It’s always great to hear from someone else living a minimalistic lifestyle!
Own You.
