Stephanie Mills: I have followed this woman since I saw her in the Wiz at the Fisher Theater back in 1974. I knew after I saw her in the wiz, she would have a long singing career. She started coming to Detroit back in 1979 to perform concerts and I was at ever concert she performed in Detroit up until about 1992, at which point she stopped performing for some years and picked back up around 2008, when I saw perform at the Grand Circus Park Orchestra Hall. The last time I saw her was 2022, March 6, she was at the Soundboard at Motor City Casino Hotel. I can hardly wait to see her again, SHE ONLY GIVES GRAND PERFORMANCES, she is a true diva but never associates herself that way, she is very underrated and still has high energy. If you are a concert goer, you MUST see her at least once, you will become hooked, thank you Stephanie Mills for so many years of great concerts, hope to see you soon.
Topper Allen, I've been following Stephanie Mills since 1979. You're, right, she puts on a grand performance at her concerts. I'm sure you're aware, that Ms. Mills will be back in Detroit on Mar 16, 2023, @ the MotorCity Soundboard. I will be there.......(Written on Mar 11, 2023)
@ M Johnson, no the singer Jason isn't Stephanie Mills' bio son. Stephanie Mills has only one bio son. Stephanie Mills' bio son is either 21 or 22 years of age.....(Written on 11 Mar 2023)
I think she's a great singer to but when she said that Anita Baker she can't learn Anita Baker can't teach her nothing I disagree with that we all can learn something from one another we can all be teachable and when she said that that Diana Ross and people like that can teacher but she said that Anita Baker can't teach her everything I personally think I need a Baker's one of the smoothest singers I've ever heard play Anita Baker's feels out wherever she go she comes to the Las Vegas and the woman sells out every time she come she tries to retire and they keep bringing her back I love both of the sisters voices but I think we need to start having some unity and watch what we say about each other not trying to bad-mouth neither one of them I just think that we need to have more Unity with each other and there and how to avoid questions like this f****** teach this and I will avoid this kind of stuff so let us not let us stop trying to hurt one another and Satan negative things like this like I said I love both of the voices but neither sells out everywhere she goes She's Always a sell-out and she tries to retired people cause her back I really enjoyed Anita Baker I'm going to go see one of us shows the next time she comes to Vegas she's got old enough that she hurt her knee or something she doesn't get around too well but the people love this queen I've always liked to have singing both of them I love both of their voices but let us refrain I'm saying different things about one another about who can teach each other alone show more Unity and respect to one another as a black people
@The Gospel Outlet exactly which is why she said what she said..she wasn't downing Anita she was saying ppl who are older and been in the business longer than her and Anita can teach her
What can Anita baker teach Stephanie Dorthea Mills? Stephanie started her career professionally at age 9 and doing her first Broadway show at 11 in 1968. Her first record was in 1975 around the time she was doing The wiz on Broadway. When she was asked if she would take notes from her, she said no. Which is the most logical answer.. Anita’s reign was during the time Stephanie was already seasoned into her recording career. You may take it as an insult but it’s not. Some of you all get caught up in the game of people having to lie in order to please others but that’s not how it works on this end.
