That was painful to watch. Absolute savage. He either crashed or won. Nobody can ever say he didn't give it 100% every time he threw his leg over a bike!!
If he would of learned to just let off a bit he’d of win 6-7 titles,Fastest man alive Bubba
He was the fastest guy anytime he was on the track, that actually makes Carmichael more impressive considering he never lost a title to Stewart that they both finished
I used to get my flatbed unloaded by this guy and once he had a Stewart jersey on and I asked where he got that and how did he know about James. He said, He's my cousin and this is one of his old jersey's. I told him of my love for the sport and the next time I showed up he had a signed poster with my name from James. Good people!
Then you woke up
This man was ready to give everything to win. Man do I miss watching him.
Anyone who wonders why he retired should watch this, he's had more crashes than Carmichael/ Villopoto/ Dungey combined.
Dude raced on the edge ,& crossed over it a lot
Really?, How many crashes did he have? How many did Villo, Dungy and the Goat have?
Naw, some people just get off on seeing Stewart fail. And everyone knows Dungey took him out.
No shit, he has to be in pain all the time, there is no way they did proper recovery back then. I feel for him so much. Much respect to him, tough SOB. Good gracious
He rode on the edge and above his ability; thus he always crashed. Dungey did not take him out on purpose. Stewart cut down early in the corner. Stewart probably did have more crashes than those riders combined. They did proper recovery back then. Have you ever seen Bubba's World? He had to use a machine that was healing his broken bone faster. He was able to tolerate the pain because he was on meth (Adderall).
Black does crack
James was the Man! Go fast, crash hard, no fear.
man he is gonna be a hurting old man. he has given us so many years man.
Probably end up like Mohamid Ali. Our brains were not designed to be smashed around like that.
Yeah he be sore but proud at least I hope he is because he ABSOLUTELY should be
That, and lots of time in the orthopedic department.
I’ve known serious amateurs who did this (kind of racing) that needed multiple operations on their knees…
Best crasher on the planet
Best rider on the planet!!
@@user-sp8eb6iz7f yea looks like it
@@lifeisgood3589 In his prime he was the fastest in the world. He was not the greatest racer in the world. There is a significant difference.
Man, his body has had a brutal thrashing!
1:29 Carmichael flipped Stewart’s bike like it was made of styrofoam When I can barely lift my bike on and off the stand 😂😂😂
I swear and Carmichael is not a big boy we was extremely fit I'm sure but only like 5 foot something
This dude had some spectacular crashes .
The fact that he always rode just as hard and fast after every brutal crash makes him who he is and was.
Always riding over his head. Always pushing. Love how Ricky is always disappointed cuz he knows only Stewart could run with him. Reed would have been even more of a superstar is he pushed like this
James was fast. Fearless. On the razors edge. And slide down it often crashing out of control. Carmichael was fast. Fearless. On the razors edge. And in control.
Looking at his win stats and watching his successful races he was clearly fast as hell. I wonder if he rode all out at 110% at all times, thus inducing fatigue, causing serious crashes. Riding at and beyond control limit. Amazing Racer. Pushed the sport forward. A true legend. Never seen so many endo's. I feel sorry for anyone that raced against him, as well as any bike he rode. His mother. Bless her soul.
True and a few of those mechanicals. He ran his forks so stiff there was no give in the front end at all, the rear was like concrete too. Nothing scarier than your bike losing power as you hit a big triple or quad. James was the epitome of go big or go home...sometimes on a stretcher.
James is a different breed as tough as they come 🤙💪
That crash at 3:16 is scary as hell. Looks like the bike just locked up on him while he hit that drop off.
that’s exactly what happened too 😭
“If you don’t crash every once in a while, you’re not going fast enough!” ~ Danny “Magoo” Chandler
I’ll never forgive Dungey for taking out Stewart
Literally just about to write the same comment about dungey’s take out
Why? Stewart took people out a ton, did you not just watch what we all watched?? Its fair game with all due respect
Stewart was outside, dungey sets up for inside, Stewart cuts down cuz he’s in his own battle for a pass. Shit happens I think neither one of them was aware of the others move is all
@@ataiken8406 dude didn’t take people out….. he landed on Ricky on accident. Other than that he was never known for taking people out. He just raced hard and took him self out more than anyone else. Dungey also didn’t take him out on purpose (also not someone known for taking people out)…. Stewart cut down hard and Dungey didn’t anticipate that when he was about to triple in. Its hard to change direction in the air….
Yeah, and Chandler ended up in a wheelchair
Legend at racing and a legend at crashing.
It's amazing he is still alive... jees
Seems like he was worse than bam bam at spreading around the carnage.
I noticed most of his crashes were while racing the #4 ! That says a lot.
He literally put his life on the line every race
This guy is tuff
He's all heart no doubt
During the end of Stwearts career it felt like he was crashing out of every race
James “The Wreck King” Stewart
2021 version = Cameron McAdoo
Thats gotta be frustrating,,,,this man deserves a trophy for still being alive
100%
"He is as flexible as a Ukrainian gymnast"
I've never watched someone so talented and run out of talent so often. One minute, he looks like the best rider on the planet, and the next, looks like a complete rookie.
259 Stewart was a mad man
Hai ! Jim ! Thanks for your AMAZING
sharing !
Tough blocks are why JS7 still alive frfr lol
Stewart is Gumby. Unreal how hard of hits he took. The stones on that guy unreal.
Dam before he went down that hill his back tire clipted the bump and over the handle bars he went.
Motocross riders are so tough!! His 100 acre property and crib is awesome
100%
The High Point crash if you watch in slow motion the front and back tires are in different ruts , and the back suspension compressed and rebounded so hard it indoed him.
The very top of that jump peaked out. Rickey seat bounced it and his tires were more straight too.
With out the preload he should have still got over fine.
You wanna see exactly how quickly these guys are able to make split second decisions and commit to them? Watch Carmichael at 4:38. Stewart is down, Reed slows up behind him, and Carmichael hits the "on,on,off" section while snaking a path through them. That's incredible.
How many riders did he crash into? Or land on top of? Damn. Looks like a dangerous rider to me.
He ran a really stiff front fork set up at the end.Lots of those crashes were very similar.I think that's why.
I know everyone has crashes no matter how good but looking back I thought James was a god on a dirt bike now seeing all these it makes me think what was he thinking some of those times
What a legend mad crashes lucky hes still alive
Great and fearless rider (a little too fearless imo). But lucky to still be able to walk.
Wanna know how irresponsibly fearless he is…. Notice that after he wrecks, he barely looks at cross traffic before getting back in the race; that’s borderline crazy.
Seeing all these as a compilation, it seems like he was ahead of his bike a lot.
Crashed a lot but gave his 100%
*#JS7** Wreckers or Checkers🏁*
King of the ENDO or what? I lost count.
Love watching rc pass him after his crashes
How this guys is alive is beyond me. His wrecks have two common denominators... Reed and Windham
dude was a savage..
I haven't seen a lot of these. The Ukrainian gymnast quote actually makes sense hahaha.
Thought I was the only one to highlight that quote... but I’d fall every fall to ride my 450..
I have always enjoyed watching him wreck a little too much thanks for making this video
He is going to feel that when he is about 50
7:14 Still the only time in my life where I actually jumped off my couch... Love Ricky doing the commentary as well who is basically just screaming in disbelief!
So many negligible instances, riding 100% is one thing, forgetting other riders exist is another
Never seen a pro go OTB ever in my entire life
Wao como recuerdo esos días que paso eso
IDK how he cashed at Daytona. He was on the gas and seat bounced the jump, and stayed on the gas which should have brought the front end up???
It’s because his front wheel wasn’t on the ground
Yes but not nearly enough to overcome the energy of one tire hitting the jump face and the other missing it. If only the rear tire is in contact with the ground on a take-off, it will endo 100% of the time because the front tire didn't sustain any pressure from the ground to keep the front end up in the air. Imagine, if you have something attached to a pole, with the pole going through the middle, and you press on one side of it with one hand, it will spin around the pole. If you press on both sides with both hands, it will stay still (or, in the case of a dirt bike, it will stay _level_ in the air). In this scenario, your hands are the ground acting on the object, aka the bike.
This is insane!!! Stew we used to say was haphazardous 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The flats on the first jump he would have never wrecked
You would think he would slow down the rebound on the rear shock after getting bucked forward so many times on the take offs of jumps. Nonetheless one of the worlds greatest Moto/supercross riders ever 🤙🏼
That first crash is a loop out. It's a crash on purpose. Damon Bradshaw did the same thing in 1992 at the Indy supercross.
Travis Preston was a knob for yanking and twisting James's helmet when was clearly badly injured
key reason to why factory riders are faster then they used to be besides skill is suspension
this video proves it
or maybe stiff suspension
A highlight reel normally showcases a riders “highlights” not lowlights.
It would be considered in “poor taste” or even “hateful” to make a highlight reel of Carmichael’s lowlights. Stewart should be no different.
Reed however, it’s perfectly acceptable because he’s a dunny boy from Australia.
Crashing in motocross, it’s down to pure chance if you get an injury or not. You just have to let momentum take its course and hope for the best 😂
man he crashed hard so many times.
They were all jumping that far.
Stewart was fast but didnt have the same rear wheel steering as the front, its something you learn on a kx65, meaning he couldnt look ahead and time everything, placing the result in the lap of the gods
We had a saying back in the day.
Those Kawi days of James he was very reckless and could’ve killed Ricky that one crash… It was like watching the best local pro that was fast but made decisions like a novice rider on his desperate attempts causing harm to himself and other riders . Riding over his head non stop shortened his career.
He called James Stewart a Ukrainian gymnast
PC always looking when Bubba crashed like "WTF?"
Damn I knew he crashed a lot but never realized how much he actually ate shit. Surprised he didn’t break more bones than he did. Still my favorite rider ever
If stewart would have throttled it back a little and played long game he would have been the GOAT. But his Never wanna Lose mentality cost him
A lot of those wrecks were due to dropping into neutral.
Im glad Bubba lived through all those.
Nobody hits the ground harder than JS7.
Me must've crashed into Reed 22 times total in career.
His parents must be pulling their hair out watching him get hurt all the time...not knowing if the next accident will seriously hurt him.
Those years on the Yamaha bike were not good to him.
That's a 4- stroke for ya.
What? Modern 4 stroke is far easier to ride then a 2 stroke smoother faster more torque and usable. Most of the crashes are completely on hames the Daytona crash was because he wellie over the triple so when He went to put weight forward as you do in supercross it catipulted him foward no it would not bring the front end up I’ve done it on a test track when I got to much weight back for a rytym out of a turn
@@zachjohnson6873 didn't say that at all. If you know how to ride a 2-stroke you'll beat a 4-stroke everytime. Also before your even committed to do a jump you know if you're going to make it on a 2-stroke and can back it off.
@@ryanbarker4422 right that’s why James Stewart said he could never beat a 4 stroke and that’s why he crashed so much in 04 right he must have just not known how to ride a 2 stroke for sure. Your an idiot
@@zachjohnson6873 your the moron not only am I a pro rider with a successfull motorcross school im friends with James he was paid to say if you get passed on a 2-stroke you should quit
@@ryanbarker4422 why do I doubt every single word coming from you 😂 what nationals/sx races did you do this year? So James was paid to speak his mind on his retirement interview and trash 2 strokes right.... makes since sense he also called ama out in that interview seems dumb if he was being payed
"He's flexible like a Ukrainian gymnast"
James is to Moto what Griffey was to baseball
Stupid happens. To some it happens a lot
Crashaholic
Kevin windhams worst enemy is a downed james stewart
If he could of really had more control over himself early in his career I think he would of won so many ,ore races. But the stew would not of been stew.
The 2016 crash is wat made me tríelo hate dungey
Stewart seems like a danger to everyone around him including himself. Jeesh
There has gotta be more than fifty crashes. He must have busted himself up once every race, not to mention how many times he took others down. That's a reckless rider
Hes of the bike, cant take vary hart his
A lot of times he would wreck and it not look that bad and he would just lay down
He's left to ridding wheelies with the street hacks
The most unsuccessful driver! Such potential, and everything is down the drain!
Still more championships than you
Unsuccessful? He's the goat
I mean, he just said "Driver" so anyway 😄😄😄
@@jibz6285 LOL...yeah...theres that!
Imagine Neymar 😂😂😂
Neymar would end up in the stands somehow
i love how RC4 gets up and throws stewarts bike outta the way
Could have broke his leg. That's what Justin did to Roczen the other night in Indy.
I feel like I remember most of these crashes but I forgot how many injuries he caused to other riders and seasons he ended prematurely.
Greatest racer of all time but he was too fast for his own good 😔🫡
Not even close. 2 sx and just 1 mx title dont make you the greatest racer of all time. He may have been the fastest on a Sx track when he didnt crash. RC, MC, RV all better racers who could calculate risk and finish off championship seasons. You guys crack me up with the JS best ever BS. He did what all riders do when they try to ride beyond their limit ........... CRASH. He only beat RC sx win total because he raced 5 more years, same as tomac. RC 10x Mx champ and 5 x Sx. RV had 4 strait Sx titles and more Mx titles and Mx race wins.
@@lifeisgood3589 it’s not that serious 🤦🏽♂️
@@Paco_2123 Then why call him the greatest racer of all time ?
@@lifeisgood3589 it’s my opinion of how I feel about him it’s really not that serious sensitive Nancy
