The Germans never looked back after this triumph and went on to win the Euros 1972, their first major trophy after the miracle of Bern (1954 World Cup).
Many consider this German side to be the greatest German team ever and one of the most attractive footballing sides in history. The team boasted the likes of Sepp Maier, Paul Breitner, Herbert Wimmer, Uli Hoeneß and the lethal Gerd Müller with Beckenbauer and Gunter Netzer orchestrating play.
