Even if I liked Cole Quinn when we finally befriended him, my favourite is Jacob Cass because I love invasion storylines, and for a rookie to save the WWE to me was a great story
Ironically- at 05:40 This is how Santino Marela got his own debut in WWE- when Vince offer someone from the crowd to challenge Umaga.
If you notice, we tried to reverse positions from actual WWE storylines in RTWM sometimes. Mickie James being stalked in SVR 2010 when she had that feud with Trish, for example.

Yeah, the whole story came off like your character was a cross between Stone Cold Steve Austin and DX, but with an introduction ironically similar to Santino Morella. One of my favorite storylines in a WWE game.

The cool thing about Jacob Cass os he is voiced by Austin Aries, who does a great job giving the CAW some personality.

Both Tre and Red…we should never speak of them again.
Buzz and Jacob were so overpushed... winning 3 on 1 handicap matches and sometimes even needing 4 or 5 people against them to lose, or cheating or outside interference. Remember how everyone criticized Roman Reigns's booking in 2015 ? Guess that doesn't bother you that much when you're the one being pushed to the stars

God, Buzz was such a cool protagonist. AJ Kirsch was a great voice actor. Mansoor made Cole Quinn so good too.
One of my favorite modes that I played was WWE 12 Road to WrestleMania. Playing as Jacob Cass in the mode.
I miss Red and Green. The moveset men we have now are a bit boring.

To be honest, when playing through RtWM on WWE 12, it is abysmal with all of those backstage brawls and handicap matches, but watching all the cutscenes like a movie? I wholeheartedly think WWE 12 has the best storyline in all the games.

Buzz and Jacob Cas as a team would be unstoppable. Also the Day of Reckoning protagonist deserves some respect, too. He was a monster.
Tre and Red in concept are great characters, y'know, two school friends working towards a common dream: a succesful WWE career, but it was executed with the precision of Homer Simpson's makeup shotgun.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that one of the good aspects of the 2020 career mode was that we followed those two since their high school days.
Oh that honestly is why it's garbage is because they dropped the ball hard in something that made the story more unique than any other one. The high school segment could have been great seeing as plenty start training when they're in high school or of high school age, and plenty indie shows have had shows at high schools. But instead? We get an unbearable interaction with our "bully" (honestly wish she was Red), a dumb and jarring "fantasy" match, and not much else honestly.

Pretty cool knowing there’s lore between WWE games, from Chase and El Mago continuing is nice, knowing the lore is there
Jacob Cass I still recreate him to this day. Can't wait to make him tomorrow when that 2k23 comes out.
WWF Smackdown 2 had most of them during the first season mode run. They were mostly used to unlock CAW parts.
Most of them also to unlock unknown moveset, who belonged to WCW wrestlers, AJPW/NJPW wrestlers and legends.

Red and Tre actually felt like good characters up until they made the NXT roster... except that afterwards, they forgot to make Tre any _good_ in the ring afterwards, and they made Red retroactively _horrible_ but _outside_ the ring.
”forgot to make tre any good” no, they didn't forget, they made Tre useless and stupid intentionally to make Red look better, Red herself is a textbook example of a Mary Sue.
@@Sheriff_Curtis Yeah, and oh yeah, remember, Brooklyn is a Mary Sue TO the Mary Sue, a pure built Hate Sink of a character who does things like make Red tap AFTER RED HITS HER FINISHER (in my game Brooklyn no-sold the Rampaige on the floor like she was freaking Hogan) and the finale has the objective of... beat Joe into the red. Because they can't have the objective in a WWE game be "have a woman PC beat the Big Bad"?
@@girlbossperiod As a manager I both love and loathe likes to say, "LAZY BOOKING!" Seriously. If their intention was to make sure people didn't think they were making the woman just a side character to a guy, there are other ways to do that.
@@Sheriff_Curtis Which is made far worse because they actually have you create these two and you basically get no choice of how to make YOUR CHARACTERS. Want Tre to be a heel who gets a lot of shine? Nope. Want Red to be a badass ass kicking machine who doesn't keep complaining about someone trying to be entertaining in a company called "World Wrestling Entertainment"? Nope. They could have just made them Red and Green and called it a day, not waste the players time with dogshit writing.

Even though my memory is very selective, I definitely remember the game where Santino calls you into the ring and ending the story with Vince doing the chicken dance, I was early to mid teens when I played that game

Man SvR 2009 was my first wwe game and my intro to wwe as a whole, never watched it before just picked it up at Walmart and asked my mom for it and my world changed, that John Cena Road to Wrestlemania sequence was so dope, playing at the tribute of the troops and having Tony knock out MVP. Road to Wrestlemania was the best part of the WWE games and I hated the later WWE games for not having it. I still play 2009-2011 to this day ever now and then, and I’ll be trying out ‘07 and ‘08 soon when I buy them
Side note, my only complaint ab RtW with the created character was when they make you wrestle as a whole different premade character for a good chunk of your RtW
I have a lot of fond memories of 2k20’s career mode tbh, just cuz me and my brother would play it ever night to see how hilariously bad the cutscenes and bugs were, also I was in high school when that game came out and now I’m an adult with a full time job, now I feel old

@-The Iceman- Glacier Ange1 those were based on Japanese wrestlers. There was one called Hanzo Mon who was based on Hayabusa.
The only good thing in 2k20's storyline is the part where you're searching for The Undertaker.
What about some of the ones from 2K22 like Odyssey and the one masked woman?
I've always thought Cole & Barron were real people! Lol.

Any chance you could possibly do a video covering the history of fictional arenas and companies in WWE games? I've always found those types of things cool and interesting too.

Yes these characters are the ops caws but they deserve credit to for helping op make these videos. Bravo HOF.
These are great mentions especially Jacob Cass. There’s one unique honorable mention, WrestleMania XIX. In the Revenge Mode, we get see to see you selected existing Star fight against a bunch of security guards, agents, bikers, and most importantly, the bosses that you in fact get to unlock as playable fighters. There were at least 30 of them with unique gimmicks with being higher up agents, a football player, boxer, ninjas, martial artists, etc.
it's always weird to see Kevin Nash in a video game for two reasons. One he has two functioning knees and two he's actually working in a video game which he refused to do for WCW.
Wish those created wrestlers were available to play in Exhibition in 2K22 because I needed jobbers for my Universe mode.

I miss the storyline modes with voiced, existing wrestlers and unvoiced CAWs. 2K22's story has its moments, but I don't like that there's exactly one voice for male CAWs and that it sounds like it belongs to a young, vaguely-Hispanic cruiserweight fresh out of an American college. Whether my CAW be a Japanese or Mexican wrestler, a 6'8" black football player or a middle-aged white MMA fighter from Halifax Nova Scotia, they all sound like the same kid.
I will accept that Red was the worst, but Tre was a gem and the only consistent positive throughout that train wreck of I story. I won't stand this slander.

Lol, someone clearly never saw the amount of detail people put into women wrestlers they create as much as men.
In reality, it's just simply because the game strips the feeling of them being your characters rising to the top. Picture it like this, let's say I create a bad ass woman and a monster like male character. Instead of being able to do that, they will instead be exactly like Tre and Red no matter what you created them like. Red will always be awesome and best for business while Tre is a goofball who gets fluke championship victories. Instead of it feeling like your characters are in high school and you choose how they were like with branching dialogue, you can only be like what you see in the beginning every time. That's immersion breaking on so many levels, why offer up something with so much potential then make it so linear that it feels like the Gilmore Girls or Degrassi of wrestling stories?
All in all, to think it has to do with women characters ignores that this is a time period where people actually like the women's division again. Everything isn't that black and white, there are gray areas where maybe your own personal enjoyment is ignoring the objective problem with the way the story is done.
Tre was the absolute worst. If it wasn't for the fact that I got an achievement for completing the story I wouldn't have. He was a complete idiot the entire time. Red was just an annoying brat.
For me i créate one version of Jacob cass to the first aparance 2k12 to 2k22 and now Jacob return soon to 2k23 and go kick the ass of the all bloodline whith my superstar because roman is so overated 99

43 seconds in, and I disagree. Red and Tre in my opinion were great characters that were unfortunate enough to be in the most glitch-filled mess of a game. I feel that their dynamic with each other and with the main villain of the story is what saved this game in my eyes.

@@Mrsplifferdoodle Don't worry, it's not a private conversation, anyone's free to join in and add to it. To be honest, I did enjoy how Buzz was written, but now how he was booked as this invincible almost inhuman force that requires 3 or more people to take him down, with interference or cheating all the time.
In this way, I feel like Tre and red paid their dues way more than Buzz did. Especially Tre who had the entire story to prove himself to the world, all the while trying to accomplish his own goals, as weird as they may be.
Tre and red were also complementary, being each other's voice of reason when the other was acting irrational or didn't know what to do. For example, with red and Mickie James, or when Brooklyn "betrayed" Tre to help Samoa Joe get the WWE Championship, sorry for the spoilers.
They were still very much independent though, even if they were a package deal. They had their own objectives, red was way more oriented on championships and competition while Tre was focused on the entertainment side, and on creating memorable moments, and also finding his parents.
All in all, that makes them feel real. They struggle, they work their way up the ladder and it's not always easy for them unlike Buzz who wins it all in a month, because he's Vince's boy. Even roman reigns in 2015 wasn't booked as strong as Buzz in his game
based as fuck. i personally wasn’t a fan of red, but tre was fucking hilarious idc and his character actually developed from a guy who only cared about the entertaining aspects of wrestling, to actually wanting to prove himself and step up to strowman, joe etc. if tre was an actual wrestler, he’s be over as fuck
