That scene where Park Dong Hoon stopped in the middle of the street for a moment on his way home late at night. Murmuring the lyrics to this song to himself, he paused for a moment and arched his back forward, feeling too heavy to take another step forward in this life. He felt himself cracking and he broke but it was only for a few seconds as he couldn't hold it in, but only for a few seconds he let out a small cry before wiping it away immediately to hold himself back up, taking a deep breath in and muttering the words "Fighting" to cheer himself on.
That scene was so so powerful to me.

This song reminds me of jeong hee. My heart aches for her. She/her bar is the go to of many people when they need comfort but who is there to comfort her? None. After a night of laughter/drinking session, she pretends to go home but she actually just stays in her bar, goes to her room, cries herself to sleep. Nobody knows her struggle she has to endure every night when she's ALONE.
That's life, sometimes you're alone, but you still go on

After finishing My Mister for awhile I disregarded searching for this song's lyrics. Now I realized how this song particularly became the drama's blueprint. After somehow living your life amidst this dark cruel world, you finally find that one person who becomes your light, your one great love, and together you come home to the stars. JA and DH's relationship may somewhat remain ambigous to some but in my opinion this song makes it very clear. Love doesn't make it any less of a great drama. To me this is one of the greatest love stories in a "non-romantic" story.

We are a tiny unknown country, but I'd like people to know the few accomplishments we have. I'm so proud this melody has gone so far into the world! So glad we have a tiny connection to Korea! :)

@@dugzamilza5212 He didn't "write" it for Alla. He composed it and it was sung by Aija Kukule, where the lyrics were written by the latvian poet Leons Briedis. The original song was COVERED by Alla with a russian poem, but it was not written for her. He is a greatly beloved Latvian maestro!

People who do it, grown up on Russian version and thought it was original, I can't blaim them. I personally would rather claim it Soviet song, which is correct.
Not so many people know about 'Dāvāja Māriņa meitenei mūžiņu', people only know Raimond Pauls and his melody. Korean name of song doesn't help, because 'One million roses' is strongly associated with Alla Pugachova. While Dāvāja Māriņa meitenei mūžiņu is story of mother and child, Russian One Million Roses lyrics is based on story of Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani and his beloved Margarita, and Korean lyrics also contains roses.
I know that this song wasn't written for her (well, MELODY wasn't), but it was remade for her, Pauls allowed to use his tune and Russian poet Voznesenskiy wrote brand new lyrics (Latvian and Russian ones have nothing in common), and because of singer's popularity, people remember this version. It's nice that she helped to make this song (and Pauls' composition) more popular.
Btw, inspite Aija Kukule was original singer, some people are sure it was Larisa Mondrus who actually covered it.
I should say, it's common thing when covers became more popular than original ones (hello, Bob Dylan!)

I know it is not the actor of Dong-Hoon singing this, but I like to think that, in the drama, this is what Dong-Hoon hears when he sings to himself in his own mind as he is walking home.
IU acting skills is beyond comparison. flawless! I haven't come across any other actor who comes close to her skills. I maybe too early to make such a bold statement by watching one TV series but I was truly flabbergasted and I'm surprised she still very young.
P.S: I wasn't even aware of her before watching My Mister!
